Had a nice visit to Two Chicks District Co. While the store has been opened for a few months now, I waited a bit before visiting as they were quite busy during their grand opening. I stopped by toward the end of the year and they had a nice selection of holiday-themed items. The store is of course geared toward home furnishings but they have some gift-type items as well. As far as I can tell, they most likely rotate what they showcase in the store as the season goes but many things can be purchased online. During my visit, they happened to be doing a monthly wine tasting and I proceeded to sample several wines. The wines can be purchased in-store and online. Even during these times I would like to "see" things as I shop (but maybe don't "touch"?), and Two Chicks District Co. is worth a visit. The store isn't big but depending of when you go it won't be a full house. I chatted with the staff during the wine tasting, and I am sure they will be knowledgeable and helpful with your shopping needs. read more

Recently started watching Good Bones and love what Karen and Mina are doing to bring the Bates Hendricks neighborhood back to life. Their store, which is also in the same area as many of their remodeled homes, isn't large but it's very welcoming. You will find lots of home decor items as well as gifts and branded merchandise for fans of the show. The staff was very friendly and the layout and interior is also beautiful. I bought some Christmas decorations and am very happy with my purchases. I can't wait to go back and snap a pic with the mural on the side of the building. read more

Had to check out Two Chicks District when I was visiting Indianapolis. I was surprised how small the shop was and that it has so much baby clothing and gear. I had hoped it would have had more home decor items. There are some cute items and not over priced as you would expect. Mina definitely knows her audience. Also, the coffee shop makes delicious quick beverages and I am sure it's great for that area which seem to be mainly residential and not a lot of coffee/food options. read more

This shop is seriously the cutest! Adorable home decor and really cute little kid items. And, I got super lucky and met Mina!! We were there on a random Thursday morning right when they opened and she came in to drop off some stuff. She was the absolute sweetest, most down to earth person! Telling me to move one of the little kid toys to the ground, so my daughter could play while, since I was stuck in a corner with her and couldn't move about the store. read more

If you are a fan of HGTV then you definitely need to visit. I have been waiting to visit since I read in the IBJ that Mina and Karen were opening a store. Upon entering you are greeted by a small eating area where you can buy sandwiches and drinks. Definitely a great idea if you're bringing your husband or children with you and you want to shop. The store is neat and there are a lot of different items to help decorate any room in your house. There are new items and antique items. Definitely a little pricey but come on they are HGTV stars. I bought a small antique rolling pen to use as decor in my kitchen. read more

My wife and I are fans of the HGTV home improvement/flipping show "Good Bones" that is based in the Bates Hendricks and Fountain Square districts. Not only do the ladies who make up 2 Chicks and a Hammer save dilapidated houses that would otherwise be torn down or just be a blight in the neighborhoods, but they also stylishly decorate the homes they remodel. They now offer a lot of the items that they use to decorate in this brand new home decor and sandwich shop. You can get snack packs and sandwiches as well as Bier craft beers and an assortment of wines to enjoy onsite. It may sound like a weird combination, but say a couple arrives and one isn't into shopping for a variety of home goods, they can grab a sandwich or something to drink to pass the time while the other shops! While browsing the store, Mina Starsiak-Hawk and her son Jack were mingling with customers welcoming them to the shop. There is a wide variety of items from quaint little gifts, to products that promote the District Company or the Mother Daughter renovation team that goes by 2 Chicks and a Hammer (Mina is the daughter) Because it was opening week, there were cars lining the street, but my wife was able to find one of the few remaining spaces in the lot behind the building. Fortunately, we missed the opening weekend rush, so we didn't have to wait in line, but we did see this was a busy shop. They do ask customers to wear masks during the current phase of the pandemic because in a small shop like this, it is hard to maintain social distancing all the time. No problem for me since I'm not an inconsiderate whiner who has nothing better to do but complain about being inconvenienced. I have real problems to deal with. Inside, there is a wide variety of home decor items for just about every room in your house. My wife thought some of it was pricey (the Turkish rugs), but thought it looked like good quality. We ended up getting a few items we had never seen elsewhere for future gifts. I got a 2 Chicks and a Hammer ballcap to keep my balding head to keep from becoming more sunburned. The staff was very friendly and my checkout was quick and easy. My only negative is that although the menu board lists all the beverages, it only lists the food as sandwiches, small packs, or large packs and the prices. It doesn't tell you what type of sandwiches or what's in the packs. I even checked their website and could not find a menu list of foods. Maybe they aren't set on which foods will be offered, but because it was busy at the order counter, we didn't hear what the people behind the counter said was available. So, we didn't get a chance to sample the food while there this visit. (My wife had to be somewhere, so we left without eating.) So, I give them a good rating for customer service and for the products they carry. Just wish they would provide more menu details on the boards or their website to help customers decide while they shop. If you have never watched the HGTV show, the new season just started a couple weeks ago. It is so cool to see Indy portrayed in such a favorable light. Their baby clothes are next level. SO precious. Their store has some super cute home decor/kitchen items (including kids stuff!). There's a coffee/wine/mimosa bar thing inside too so you can snag a drink while you shop! Prices are reasonable. A nice platter will run you $35-$40. read more

THE BUSINESS IS SHADY. Workers come randomly after typical work hours sporadically and the area is a complete eyesore. When Mena and her mother came for demolition day, her mother creeped from the side of our house declaring she just urinated by our property and jokingly asked for a cup of coffee. Um NO. Workers have had to use our property in order to work on the 2 chicks house. They leave trash and other discarded materials all over the area. Mena gave us her phone number and we texted her numerous times in the beginning about trash on our porch, to which she replied "that sounds annoying." The house has had to stop work due to violations and it attracts unsavory characters digging things out of the giant trash bin, leaving trash on the property or sleeping on the front steps. read more

Wife and were in the area and she "drug" the kids and I to see this new place that opened. It was during covid so we waited in line outside for a couple minutes until they could accommodate us. The gal at the door was super friendly and offered our girls a couple pop sicle (it's hot out). Once inside I was caught off guard.. not what I expected at all! They served wine and likely other beverages and some small pastries up front with a handful of tables and sitting area. The back area had a shopping area with misc decor. My wife is the creative one so I couldn't tell ya much about the stuff, but they had a decent variety from socks, couches, corkcicle beverage holders, mirrors and such. Wife bought some candle holder thingy.. could have been a candle holder.. looks like I could use it for drinking tinted beverages ;) Mina (sp?) was around the store and super friendly, talking to our kids and such. This is such a quaint little place. Much smaller than I had pictured in my head but I would describe it as a great place to get a gift or get a drink and small meal. I stopped by for Indy Dough's pop up that Two Chicks was hosting. Can't wait to come back and get lunch here one day. read more

We came here as we are avid watchers of Good Bones. The shop has little touches of the show throughout and tons of decor. They have pillows, rugs, decor etc as well as a lot of Indiana items. There is a small area at the front where you can get alcoholic beverages, pastries and soups/snack items. This makes coming out here a lot of fun and more than just shopping for some items. Their selection does change with the holiday, so it's always good to stop in and see what's new! read more

I've been in to the store a few times- generally the customer service is AMAZING! This past visit- the day before Thanksgiving, the two ladies at the counter just generally seemed annoyed. A few folks asked about things from the show- they seemed as if they could totally not even be bothered. Super weird! The other two times I've been there, it was an amazing experience! I hate to be critical of the store because I love the show but I felt like it didn't really fit what the show is all about. Most of the products that were in the store seemed like generic items you'd find at any home store and the prices were not reasonable. The price for their Tshirt was like $30. I like the show because they try to repurpose items and save money but there is no saving money in this store. Nonetheless, it's a cute store and I'm glad I got to visit it and "Bates-Hendricks" but I walked out empty handed. read more

Very cute shop that reminds me of all of the great products in Good Bones. I enjoy the seasonal decorations that come out before the holidays. The bistro area has some great light dinner options. The wine tastings that they used to do were so fun- hopefully they will be back soon. Sometimes at the shop, you may even run into Mina. read more

I always wanted to see Mina's shop, and this shop offers great Christmas decorations currently. I was fortunate to run into Mina and she was graceful to have me to take photos with her. I love the staff here! They went above and beyond to assist me in getting a perfect rug for my space pulling so many out and having to roll them back up. They never made me feel like a pain for taking my time to decide and every time I shop here their staff has provided valuable advice, advising for and against some design choices. Love this place! Great staff! My only complaint is I wish their online store or Instagram kept up with the products they have in store so you know when they get new products or if it's going to be worth the trip, but usually it always is! read more

I love this show and the store is very cute! It is not huge but I didn't expect it to be. The merchandise was lovely. My only complaint is that I have a broken foot and could not use my knee scooter due to the stairs. I had to try to work with a cane as I saw no ramp and there were steps. I was surprised that in this day and age there are any stores without a ramp of some kind. I still managed to get in but I can see how others could not. Maybe there is a ramp around back that I did not see. I am still glad we went and I still love the show just something to consider. read more

I have been really excited to check out the place and support a local business and went with a few friends. My friend and I are chardonnay drinkers and was disappointed that their bar didn't offer one chardonnay but offered more than one rosé, just seemed like an off balance menu offering but no biggie. The glasses that they served in were super cute. The place was very cute, it was more so the staff that wasn't great. The photo op wasn't lit up, would've been fun to take a picture. The girls working there were nice enough but never asked if they could help us find anything or showed any assistance. One of our friends wanted a beer and no one was in attendance at the bar, the employees were all socializing at the main cash register so he had to go there and ask for service at the bar. They told him since they were closing soon that they couldn't give him a glass and that he had to drink out of the beer can which I found to be a bit tacky. During our shopping trip I went to the bar as well and there was no one tending to it so it was kind of awkward. I saw online that they are a retailer of a local product that I like and I was planning on purchasing Ambre oil for $50+ but they had barely any product and not even my top few scents. I went to the register and asked if they had anymore and they said no, I asked if they knew when they would be getting more and they said no. It felt like we were interrupting the staff having to ask for service. They have some really nice decorative pillows and other home decor. It was Christmas time when we went so I'm curious what offerings they will have during a non holiday season. I'd say overall the store is cute and I like the unique concept. If I had traveled far to go as a tourist destination I would've been disappointed. If you are a fan of the tv show you can purchase a souvenir such as shirts, etc. I think the experience could've been better if the staff was more interactive, asking us if they could help us, showing us stuff, tending to the bar, having the photo op open, asking the group if we'd like a photo, etc. The store was not busy, the whole time we were there I believe there were only 3 other people. read more
