I am waiting on some of my seedlings to start flowering, but I wanted to be able to offer a better variety of food to pollinators in the meantime. I ended up stumbling on a lovely Gaillardia Mesa Peach! I had never seen one of these before. I loved seeing a native Indiana pollinator enjoying the flower so much. I love the look of the flower and decided to grab two of the 4" plants for my balcony garden. I had just been using a pair of kitchen scissors for my garden shears and I have been gardening with bare hands. I did not like the first pair of gardening gloves I had bought elsewhere, but I found myself pleasantly surprised with how well the gloves fit me here. I decided to get a pair of gardening gloves too, to at least try to save my nails in the future, along with actual garden shears. My mouth almost dropped open when I was told that the total was under $40! I was so surprised, I checked the receipt. Nothing was missed, the price was just that good. I fear my gardening game has been lacking in previous years before going to local garden centers rather than national chains. I hope I will have more room next year and I can pick up a fruit tree and some vegetables and herbs, because that selection was likewise fantastic and plentiful.

We visited yesterday and had too much luck finding all sorts of items for our spring garden. We purchased lavender, Delphinium, marigolds, lots of herbs, lilac bushes, and several other items. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You will also find potting items, trees, bushes, small gifts and several vegetables available. I'm always impressed by the fun and engaging events that they host here throughout the year. For example, coming up for Mother's Day, they are hosting a potting workshop for kids to make gifts for mom. Don't miss out on this place whether you are a gardener or just looking to explore a new corner of downtown.

Inside you'll find an impressive amount of plants for the size of the place. They make great use of the space, utilizing tall shelves and hanging plants to fit more inside. There was a good variety of plant types, too, and I definitely wanted to grab handfuls! It was nice to see signs labeling plants as good for low light to help you choose based on your home environment! The price points are very fair. I noticed $5 succulents, some $10 plants, a $25 one, a few more expensive, etc. They even had a container of discounted $1 succulents! There are also bags of soil for sale, that seem to be a blend (I think made by or sourced for the Collective?) I'd be interested to learn more about them next time I stop by. I ended up buying an adorable $5 succulent and two of the $1 ones. Next time, I'll have my eyes on some of the house plants. There are some lovely ones on their shelves! I'm the kind of person that doesn't really know plants, I just like them and try to keep them alive. I kind of looked around on my own but heart him talking to a couple about best watering and lighting conditions for what they needed. I liked that the shop was arranged by lighting needs. I went to the section of low light plants and chose a begonia. When I checked out Matt gave me recommendations on taking care of it. He also gave me a punch card. I believe it's buy 5, and then you get 50% off your 6th. I will definitely be back when I need to fulfill my plant impulses!

That might be the reason that you don't see too many individual homes with big fancy fountains in their yards. You can even invest in lovely koi. Some may think them to be large goldfish, but they are a Japanese fish. The larger the pond, the larger the koi will grow. You have to carefully feed and care for the Koi. You must not over or underfeed them. Adding some plants will help the fish and bring more enjoyment to you.
