First time here today! Went In on a whim after stopping next door at intentional food for some lunch. Had a rough day and figured a cupcake always helps turn a bad day around! The bakery smells delicious the second you enter and you are surrounded by beautifully decorated cakes. Their cupcake flavor variety was vast and unique, the frosting to cake ratio was spot on. The cake was moist fluffy and delicious and the frosting perfectly balanced. We got samoas, pink champagne, and salted caramel. All excellent I only wish they had a full cookie on the girlscout one for $3 each. Wonderful to see a woman run business as well! read more

Ordered one of their giant flower bouquet cupcakes for Mother's Day.... if possible, it tastes even better than it looks! We got the almond flavor cake and it was AMAZING! The lady who took our order helped out with creative additions to it. We gave them the option of doing what they thought would look best and it sure paid off. It not only looked amazing, it was tasty. There was a mini smash cake included. They gave us instructions on how to carefully transport it a few hours away. We had a bit of a cake emergency, about 2 months before our wedding the person that was going to make our cake found out they weren't available, Sam was able to fit us in and save the day! We went in for our tasting, picked out cake and then about a month before the wedding found out we were going to need to feed about 70 additional people, so once again Sam saved the day by making me a groom's cake (this was a huge deal since they were already packed full for the month and not taking on any additional cakes). I had a picture of what I was looking to have done but when they delivered the cake on the day of the wedding it blew me away, it was so beautiful I didn't even want to cut it. The cake itself was amazing, 4 different flavors so there was a little something for everyone, our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was and how they had more than one piece. It must have been good because there wasn't any left. Highly recommend Sam and her team, we will use them again for other events. read more

Am I inspired to write because there are what appear to be unrealistic reviews? Yes. But do I mean what I say? Also yes. Sugarlips is my go-to when I'm on that side of the world. I would drop in when I wanted a treat after my hair cut at the neighboring salon. I will say that the hours can make it a little challenging to line up schedules but I do what I can and if a woman wanted it, she'd find the time. I'm a salted caramel junkie and love their fruit or citrus inspired creations. My kid will literally crave the pink champagne. Beyond the adorable store and easy to navigate cupcake case, make sure to follow the instagram. It's chock full of the most AMAZING wedding cakes ever. I recently ordered a custom cake for a landmark birthday and I kept my request reasonable. I was in the mood for something small and sweet so i was excited to give it a try. But I was soooo disappointed!!! I ordered a Champagne cupcake for myself, the cupcake was missing half an inch of the cake and was so dry. The frosting was soooo sugary and didn't taste like champagne at all. Brought the Salted Caramel back to a friend and he was unimpressed as well, dry and nothing special. $6 dollars for two bland dry cupcakes that didn't even fill the bakery cup. read more

Stopped by to pick up some cup cakes for work, they looked awesome. After the first "o my goodness" at the office, I was swamped by the office staff. I almost didn't get one for myself. I never heard so many oh's and ah's (it was reminiscent of they scene from the movie, " When Sally met Harry", or vice versa ). We had our wedding at Villa Siena and Sugar Lips was on the preferred vendor list for cakes so we booked a tasting with them. We had to book two weeks out (just a heads up for the brides!) and send them a list of 3 flavor combos we wanted to try. When we arrived, they had signs set up for us that had our names, wedding date, and a flavor menu. On top of all the cuteness, the cakes were DELICIOUS! It was a hard decision but we ultimately chose white chocolate cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting and it was a huge hit at my wedding. Forget Sprinkles Cupcakes, Sugarlips is BOMBBBBB. I went in and grabbed a toasted coconut and salted Carmel. The toasted coconut had coconut in the cake mix, coconut buttercream and dipped in roasted coconut. BOMBBBBBBBB. The cake was airy and moist. The salted Carmel was a tad messy, but it was salted Carmel, do obviously it was worth it. I got my baby shower cake from here. Their banana filling is AMAZING. It tasted like real bananas and none of that crappy artificial flavor. My five layer cake was moist and delicious af. The frosting was delicious. I would definitely order more cakes from here and I would also come here for some cupcake treats. K got a co-worker to cover her call so she asked me to pick up a cupcake for her as a "Thank You". Originally, I went over to Mind Over Batter but they've gone out of business. Hmm, so I checked on Yelp* and Sugarlips popped up. A couple miles a way was no biggie. The place is cute enough. There was a good selection of cupcakes in the case. I saw a lot of information of their wedding cakes, or specialty cakes, as well. K needed a cupcake but how could I just bring one home. I bought the Chocolate Cupcake for K's friend, Red Velvet for me, Vanilla for K and White w/ Sprinkles for C. Each cupcake was $2.50 and there was a "check in" deal from Yelp* for one free cupcake. Booyaa, love freebies. I want to also point out that Sugarlips did not charge tax. So, the 4 cupcakes minus the free one were $7.50. Although the 3 of us ate our cupcakes, we all came to the same conclusion about them. It's a cupcake. No, really. Just a cupcake. Seemed to be the same size as the cupcakes I can make at home. The pricing was fair for the product. The cake tasted like cake. Just like the cake I get at Fry's, Safeway, Albertson's, my cousins house or really anywhere someone pops open a box of cake mix and makes cupcakes. The frosting was fine. Again, tasted like frosting. The kind that comes in a little can and you spread it on the cupcakes that you just made from a box mix. So it tastes fine. Nothing special. But, nothing bad either. Sugarlips absolutely saved the day for my wedding in October. After finding out a month before my wedding that the person making my cakes could no longer do it, I panicked a little and then sent my sister on a research mission to find a new bakery. I was especially worried because I wanted a pretty non-traditional cake (5 single tier cakes of different sizes with different designs in ivory buttercream) and was not sure I'd be able to find a new baker who could create what I was looking for. By the time we got in touch with Sugarlips they were so accommodating and nice about my situation. Not only that, the cakes they created for me were so beautiful (and delicious!) that it was like my original plan never changed. They also worked closely with my florist to add some flowers to the tops of the cakes and the end result turned out beautifully. I would recommend them to any of my friends or family. read more
