Crooked nail, not painted on tip

This was my first time at the nail bar. I made an appt over the phone and was seen on time. Chloe did my nails. She didn't paint/dip the tips of my nails, which is so aggravating. The way she filed my thumb nail is also crooked. They look okay from afar, but are not up to just basic SNS dip quality. I will not go back to her, but the salon was nice and clean. For pedicures, I don't care who I have. Nails? So hard to find consistency.

This is my second time in sugarcoat, the first time I had Jen and the service was good so I came back for a second visit. I made an appointment online with Jen for their first appointment of the day but when I walked in the door, she was already with another customer. They said I could wait for Jen and she would be finished in 20 minutes, which I don't see how that would've been possible as they just opened. They asked me if I would let another technician do my pedicure and I agreed. The photos are the end result. The worst pedicure I've had anywhere. The pedicure lasted less than 25 minutes. I've also attached a photo of the time remaining on the Massage timer once they finally got it working. The technician was distracted, she was rough, she rushed, I had to ask for toe separators which I've never had to do before. To top it off during the majority of the short time I was there she couldn't t stay focused and was looking at the people walking in the door. At the end of the service I went up and paid, tipped as I always do even though it was a completely unacceptable service, and I said nothing. I thanked them and looked over and Jen was still with the first client. Could I have pointed out the poor service I received? Yes, I could have. But after reading the reviews, I'm glad that I didn't. From what I've read, it seems that they make up excuses or blame poor service on the customer, and who needs that? So I will echo many others, this place is completely hit or miss. If they can't keep their appointments straight and they can't provide quality service, there's no point in going here when there are so many other options nearby. This is just feedback for the business, do better.

Nails were not buffed at all and she didn't offer to do so especially knowing that I was going to wear them natural.

My first visit was ok. My nails grow long but are thin. I get an acrylic overlay and wear them natural. I'm pretty reserved so I don't do a lot of color, maybe a nude or a French tip. I was paired with Linh even though I booked the appointment online with another tech. I assumed that she was the person I booked with since it was my first time. It wasn't until I put my hand in front of the dryer and saw her name and realized she wasn't the person I booked with. At this point she was half way through with my nails so I didn't say anything. I like my nails square (sharp edges). She didn't do them exactly how I wanted them but overall she did a good job. I tipped her $5 on top of my $57 service. Made a second appointment for yesterday and booked with a specific tech. When I got there I signed in and a lady doing a customers nails asked what I was getting. I told her a fill in. You would think if you're making an appointment and signing in they would know the service you're getting. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time before I was escorted to a seat. I was placed at Linh's station even though my appointment wasn't with her. I was pressed for time so I didn't say anything. I showed her pictures of my nails and how I liked them filed and asked her to file them down a little because I don't like them too long. She said that would be extra. I told her not to worry about it. She asked if I wanted a French tip and I asked how much more would that be and she said $60. My fill in was $35. $25 for a French tip/polish was a little excessive to me so I told her nevermind. She asked did I want just polish and I told her I was just going to wear them natural. She seemed agitated and started speaking in her native language. Another tech walked over and they started a conversation and then the tech just stared at me. When I stared back she looked away. They continued to talk as Linh filed my nails once she finished she put oil on my cuticles (with the dust still on my hands) and told me to wash my hands. I came back to her station and she was cleaning up and said thank you as if she was finished. I asked could I at least get a clear coat or would that be extra as well. She put a clear polish on my nails without buffing them out so there was no shine at all. The lady she was talking about me too checked me out. I asked her why was I not paired with the person I made the appointment with and she said he doesn't do acrylics. I advised that the website does not indicate that only certain techs do acrylic and some don't. No tip this time and I had to ask for my receipt. It seems as though they nickle and dime for everything at this salon and if you don't do add on services they get upset. The two ladies were clearly talking about me in a negative way right in front of my face. Unbeknownst to them I picked up on a few of the words and phrases as my nail tech from a few years ago (who's also a friend) speaks the language and would translate certain phrases and words when we were in the salon together. I didn't ask for a discount or a refund and I didn't cause a scene. I would advise the staff to watch what they say in front of their customers. You never know who speaks your language. Although I couldn't understand all of what was said, I understood enough to be sure not to patronize this business again.

Our appointment confirmation!

I planned a girls day with my daughters which started with a manicure and pedicure at sugarcoat nail bar. I made an appointment a week prior to for 1:30 for the three of us. When we arrived, we were greeted and I told them that we had an appointment for 1:30 for pedicure and manicure. They seem a bit confused and told us to wait a minute and then we were told to go and sit in the three pedicure chairs. We sat there for a good 50 minutes. before someone came to do our pedicure. And that was just for two of us. My other daughter had to wait longer for someone to come to do her pedicure.. the person that did my pedicure scraped my heels so bad that they were bleeding and had to be bandaged. And my manicure was awful. The manager had to reshape my nails for me. She did apologize and she did not charge me for the pedicure or manicure. Waiting there so long to get our service done when we had an appointment was ridiculous. It made us miss our restaurant reservations. We had to wait longer to get a table. And by the time we were done eating, the stores were closed so we were unable to go and do our shopping that we planned on doing after dinner. Spoiled our whole girls day plan. I feel that when you make an appointment for a certain time that appointment is honored for that time. Apparently at Sugarcoat Nail Bar that's not the case. Apparently it doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not. The person that was doing my feet told me they didn't have enough people. They should've never said yes that was a good time to come in then they should've communicated that to me and we could've worked out maybe a different time to come in when there were enough people to take three of us at a time.. Totally bad management! Very disappointed with Sugarcoat Nail Bar.

First and last time I will go here. I had to tell the male nail tech to stop with the filing on the side of my foot he left a cut.

Never again. My foot has a cut from the nail tech using the file to rough I had to tell him to stop as he went through a layer of my skin. 115.00 for a mani and pedi to leave with this. Not happy!

Felt bad energy! This is how I left out.

Felt bad energy from the moment I walked in the door. The manager acted as if she didn't want to do my nails. This is how I left out (See below Pic). *Thank you very much for responding to my yelp review. * she did not ask me to pick out my color ~ she threw the colors on the table and said here HERE PICK OUT YOUR COLOR in a rude tone. And yes I looked like what in the world is wrong with this lady attitude... Yes I came in and asked for SNS. Once the young fellow started I told him that I didn't see a color that I liked therefore I would like to do French tips. I asked if the powder would last a very long time. He stated acrylic will last longer. I asked how much is acrylic and he came back and said I could go down the street to Baxter Bc he didn't do acrylic. At that point I was happy to leave - I had enough of the rudeness. He then stated he was allergic to acrylic and walked me to the register. Point blank period. The staff was not pleasant at all and I'm not removing my review of my horrible 1st time experience.

The moment you walk into the salon you are greeted with a stunning chandelier and a warm welcome. This salon is 100% CLEAN! All guests are guided to a glamorous hand washing bowl before beginning the service as this salon prioritizes cleanliness of all staff and guests. They are very passionate about their walk-ins and can always get you in last minute. I have had both IOS manicure, and regular pedicures. The regular pedicure is so relaxing. They have the best massage chairs in the fort mill area! They make sure to style your nails to your desired comfort and adjust the water temperature to your desired liking. I have always loved getting the gell or IOS manicure. They always make my nails look stunning! This salon specializes in classic shenails so check out their Instagram page to see what type of nails treatment is best for you! This salon is also close to Starbucks, Brix, and many other restaurants If you would like to make a fun girls day, or date on your addenda as they are very flexible! Every time I come to this salon someone is always leave with a laugh and a smile. They acknowledge your needs for relaxation and will always treat you like priority. I fully recommend this location.

First time here and I loved it! Staff is very nice and explained the prices before she did any work. Place is very clean as well! Definitely will be coming back.

This is my 2nd visit and Jenny did my nails again. Once again I loved the atmosphere and my nails! I haven't gone more often just because I have not had employment in over a year, due to covid, and simply couldn't afford it. I went in because I have an interview and due to stress, but my own nails down to....well you get the picture. Jenny was so very kind and made my nails look natural and interview ready! If I get this job, this will be my salon.

30 minute wait for this?
Wyteria W.

I gave them 2 stars because although this place looks fancy it is not the friendliest AND no one is ever available. All I wanted was to get like 3-4 fingers soaked because I couldn't get my gel polish off. I work in walking distance to this shop and it doesn't matter when I come it's always come back in one hour or 2. This particular day what I was asking for could literally take 1-2mins but instead I was asked to wait over 30mins. I've told myself I would never go back but continue to give them a chance. This time I am going to listen to myself.

After two weeks and 4 days. Polish on big toe has cracked. Never had that. Zoom in

I loved how I looked with them but hated the time and effort it took everyday. But my problem was I didn't feel comfortable without them and wanted to be more natural. So I did some research on getting lash extensions and found bloom lash boutique. Now I was definitely nervous wasn't sure if I was going to like them and feel as good with them on as I did with my lash strips. The first time I spoke on the phone with Amber the owner of bloom I immediately felt comfortable and knew she had my best interests at heart. My first visit was awesome!!! Of course I had done some damage to my natural lashes and had pulled out a good bit of my natural lashes by applying and taking off my false lashes day in and day out, but I still couldn't believe how amazing she made my natural lashes with the extensions look. The environment of the boutique was relaxing, extremely clean and very friendly! So after my first visit we worked out a plan of attack as far as how often i would come back to have them filled and the steps to taking care of them. I have been back once already and honestly it's amazing to wake up every morning and look bright eyed it's a great feeling....I would highly recommend going to see Amber at Bloom Lash Boutique you won't regret it!!! He was polite and did take the time to ask about any problem areas. He stated he does body work. At the time I had no idea that was different from a relaxing massage. It just sounded like a way of listening to the body. There was alot of focus on my upper body (shoulders, front and sides of neck and in between shoulder blades) which is where I stated I feel the most tension. I didn't receive a whole body massage. There was alot of what seemed like working on different pressure points throughout the body, I don't know if that's the way to word it but it definitely wasn't a massage like I have experienced with past therapists. Also, there was conversation the ENTIRE time. I couldn't be rude and not respond but a relaxing massage to me is one with no talking unless I am signaling pain or the therapist asks about the level of pressure. I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing massage since it had been years since I had one but that's just not what I received. Bummer. Noting the place was really nice, clean and welcoming. The ladies at the desk were pleasant and greeted me with a smile. I was offered to sign up for a membership at checkout with a nice discount on the first month but based on my experience it just wouldn't be beneficial to me. I'm looking for relaxation!
