Sugar Cane, hands down, is THE BEST chinese restaurant in the area - maybe even the whole south shore!!!!! The service is excellent; the food is beyond delicious!!!! The only problem is the place is small and more and more people are finding out just how good this place is - so, you better get there early for dinner or be prepared to wait. My wife and I have lived in Bridgewater for about 15 years. It took us about 10 years to find a good Chinese food restaurant. Granted this is Thai and not what we were accustomed to, but we LOVE this place. The ingredients are always fresh and it is very consistent. Anything that we've ever tried on the menu has been great. By far my favorite Thai restaurant. Everything is fresh, no MSG (my boyfriend gets very sick from MSG, so we always do our research), veggies are fresh, and the chicken is antibiotic free! Only downside is that they are no longer delivering at this time. It's just down the street from me though, and definitely worth the drive. Service is fast and friendly. We are big fans of the Chatta Box across the street, but after hearing such good reviews, we decided to try Sugar Cane. The decor is much nicer/warmer here, although a bit smaller. We ordered the Sugar Cane Sampler as an appetizer, which is a large assortment of mostly-fried dishes with various dipping sauces. It was good, but the golden purses were very oily and fishy. The service was a bit slow and the waitress completely forgot our drink order (there is a limited drink menu consisting of beers, a few wines and two sakes). The Kao Soi had a flavorful broth but the chicken and noodles lacked any flavor; it's like they were boiled in water and just thrown in the soup before serving. I picked around that a lot. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience that left us wishing we went across the street. read more

Really satisfying affordable food with something for everyone on the menu. We eat here a lot, and really enjoy the chicken pad thai and thai ribs. I also like the Sugarcane roll sushi, with crab, avocado and mango. My mom usually gets the hot spicy soup and my brother and his wife get spicy dishes also. Dad usually gets grilled chicken with broccoli. The young ones love their chicken fingers. Sticky rice with coconut ice cream, yum! Nice thai iced coffee, and their pina colada's are the best anywhere, so smooth, go figure! The waitstaff are super friendly and greet you so warmly. It is small so if you have a big group best to reserve a table. Great local affordable spot. I never write reviews first off but felt I had to here. Ordered takeout here tonight. My wife gets sushi and salads here all the time and loves it but I am a basic meatball sub kinda guy so we order at 2 spots usually! Tonight I looked at menu and for someone w a basic "Chinese food" palette like teriyaki beef, chicken fingers, fried rice etc I saw plenty of "fancy" things I'd never eat on menu. General gau chicken is as crazy as I get. After many bad gau experiences at spots like mee king and great chow I decided to order the gau here w brown rice as the side and some steamed dumplings. HANDS DOWN best I've had in my life! Cooked right w no over reading or hard chicken or fake chicken feeling pieces. Not over sauced or over seasoned. Just perfect flavor and cooked tender. No aftertaste that lingers with you. Great dish...period! Get it you won't regret it! read more

me and the woman went to sugar care for a saturday afternoon lunch and left stuffed full. inside the decor is nice. with a big exotic fishtank and thew dining room was spotless. the menu was larger than i thought with lots of good looking options. we tried the veggie/shrimp tempura wich was excellent.. served with a great sauce and NOT greasy at all. the hunan talapia was delicious but maybe with a bit too much sauce on it. (wich didnt stop me from eating the whole huge protion!) with so many other tasty looking dishes on the illustrated menu im definitely going back for seconds. read more

Sugarcane's pad thai is as good as Kristal's Kitchen (which I also really like). In fact, I like this place almost as much as Krystal's. It is clean and bright, and the food is fresh and flavorful. I haven't been to Chatta Box (across the street) in a while, but for you fans of Chatta, you ought to give Sugarcane a try. I really can't understand why the Bridgewater area has three very good Thai joints and hardly any other restaurants worth venturing into to eat lunch or dinner. What gives? Anyway, be thankful for what we have, and go out and support our local Thai restaurants--you won't be disappointed. read more

I'm from the North Shore and this is hands down the best Thai food either eat- in or pick-up around. My go-to is the Drunken Noodle dish; paired with steamed pork dumplings. Their tea is fresh as can be and delicious. This might be my only, rare, 5/5 rating. read more

SugarCane is FANTASTIC!! The place is very small, but elegant & beautiful, don't let the outside confuse you, this isn't a hole-in-the-wall crumby take-out joint. I had both the veggie & shrimp tempura, & OH. MY. GOD. I've dined at a LOT of Asian cuisine places, & this is the BEST tempura I have ever had. I felt really good after eating there. The entire menu is really healthy, which is really unique. I'm pretty picky, & can usually only find one or two things on the menu I want. EVERYTHING on this menu sounded great, but I played it safe & went with tempura. The people were social & friendly, the owner even gave us impeccable directions back to the highway, since the way we had taken to get there was blocked off. The dinner menu is a little pricey (unless you're used to boston prices like me, then it's a bargain), but worth what you get. If you're worried about cost, go before 4, when they have their lunch prices. I really hope I can go back & try more things! read more

Frequented here several times before and the experience was good, until New Year's Eve Day. We got in there early before the New Year's Eve dinner rush. We were seated right away at a table near the door by which we could feel a cold draft move our way anytime someone opened the front door. We could not move much because there were random customers standing close-by us most of the time. The worst part of it all was that we had ordered our meals but it took them several hours for them to get it out to us. The waitress had to constantly remind the cooks about fulfilling our order but we received our meals only when we were about to walk-out after being the only nearly forgotten party in the restaurant. Sugarcane is the BEST Thai and sushi restaurant I have had! I do a lot of traveling to foreign countries and have eaten in Thai and sushi restaurants in Boston and San Francisco as well and this restaurant is genuinely authentic Asian food. It has a large variety of menu choices, the portions are large and the wait staff and owner are very friendly and personable. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is exceptionally clean. You will get real ethnic Asian food, not a "fast food" mock up. I highly recommend Sugarecane if you are looking for an excellent lunch or dinner with a wide variety of menu choices. I've tried Chatta Box Box but I've never been back since I started going to Sugarcane. No comparison. read more

I have been to this restaurant twice now. The first time I went, I was impressed by the cleanliness (which is certainly an improvement from the "Chattabox" across the street), and the decor. However, that day, I was unimpressed by the service. My table was waited on by a young waitress who seemed to throw the food down in front of us, rather than place it politely. She never smiled, and was anxious for us to leave. I was a bit offended by this. My impression was that if someone is giving you money/supporting your establishment, you're meant to show them kindness.. In any case, I returned to the restaurant not too long after this visit for a meeting, and the service was similar. I had the misfortune of being gossiped about by the young waitress, and an older woman who works as a waitress there as well. They stood mere feet away from our table, staring at only me, and talking. I eventually looked at them and received an insincere smile in return. This is not a place that I would return to. This place is awesome! Tough to find good Thai food in this neck of the woods...it's usually Chinese food with extra hot peppers and curry thrown in! SugarCane is the real deal..their hot and sour soup is loaded with fresh vegetables and diced tofu in a delicious tomato broth...nice sweetness balanced with a hint of spice and Thai basil. The chicken dumplings were nicely crunchy, paired with a plum dipping sauce that was delicious! The yellow curry chicken had a delightful kick, and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful...peppers, potato, summer squash and large carrot slices cut on the bias just elevated this dish to the next level! My wife had the beef Thai pad which she simply raved about. The presentation of all dishes is beautiful, done with the care and thought that respects the tradition of the cuisine it serves....all in all, a great experience that we expect to have again in the very near future! read more

My family and I have been coming here for at least 5 years. It's run by a wonderful young couple, and I can't say enough about how delicious and fresh the food is, or how terrific the service is. Tonight I THOUGHT I had placed an order online via Eat24, drove 40 minutes to Sugar Cane only to discover that my Eat24 order had never gone through. The owners were beyond accommodating, and had my order ready in LESS than 10 minutes (despite the fact that it was a busy take-out night). The wife felt so bad--though it was in NO way their fault--that she even brought me out a glass of ice water and a cup of hot & sour soup to enjoy while I was waiting. So incredibly nice. Their food is so good, too... Pad Thai is the dish I always judge a Thai place by, and theirs is awesome. Other favorites are the Bulgoki beef and Massuman curry with duck. Try Sugar Cane...
