I was kept in the loop by the catering staff on all updates (stock on hand, who was delivering, when it would arrive). Came here with my boyfriend and the staff was super friendly! They immediately asked me if I wanted to try any flavors- I tried the classic chocolate chip and my boyfriend tried the dough-reo. I may never trust another ad that pops up on Facebook again. At least twice this company's add popped up on my Facebook feed with a message that their food truck was going to be in Everett. Because I was craving ice cream, I planned on going to that event, but ended up missing it. I should have taken it as a sign. Instead I decided to go the following day to their event in Brier. But as Julia Roberts says in "Pretty Woman"- "Big mistake. Huge." I found it odd that this pop up event was held in a neighborhood instead of a public parking lot and it was hard to find a place to park that wasn't going to block someone's private driveway. Yet another sign that I should have paid attention to. The truck reminded me of an ice cream truck and the picture on their pop up add suggested a cone full of ice cream. I take some of the blame for misconstruing the picture, but I honestly think that it's part of their ploy to entice people to come try their product. I stood in a really long line that moved pretty quickly and when I got to the front, I didn't really understand why there was no option for cookie dough ice cream. They were out of the seemingly popular Cookie Monster flavor-which is literally blue, so I ordered Birthday Cake instead. The woman asked me if I wanted ice cream with it. Huh? What? I thought that Sugar and Spoon WAS ice cream, But when I told her that yes, of course I wanted ice cream, the total turned out to be over $9. No thank you. In other words, ALL this place sells is cookie dough which is offered in a cup or a cone. The cone, of course, was extra. So I walked away with my cone of JUST cookie dough topped with sprinkles and $6.50 poorer. I never actually got my ice cream that I wanted because that would have meant spending even more money that I can't really afford. The product itself is VERY, very sweet, and I don't mean that in a good way. It was pretty much overkill and way overpriced, not to mention that you don't even get ice cream with it unless you pay extra. The next time I see an add on Facebook, I will most likely ignore it, or at least pay closer attention. I blame myself mostly, but the company is partly to blame with their high prices and misleading pictures. If you love very sweet cookie dough in a cone or a cup at high prices, by all means find out where Sugar and Spoon will be next. If you don't, then stick to a real ice cream place. I ordered 4 box sets for Mother's Day and they were delivered without any indication through a receipt, email confirmation or sticker on box that tells you to refrigerate. The cookie dough was not consumable since it wasn't put in the fridge. The jars inside have a label but if you are buying gift sets you aren't going to open the box to know how to store them. When I emailed the company they refused to do any refund or replacement because "we are a Smb during these times" and they said they will learn from this experience. I can't believe the high marks for this place. It's just overly sweet, nearly inedible cookie dough with mediocre quality chocolate chips on top. I have a sweet tooth but this was way too sweet even for me. It's also terribly overpriced for what it is. I love cookies and I love cookie dough ice cream, but this was not good. If you do buy it then you are best off buying the smallest size and then going home to mix it in with some ice cream. That's the only way I can think of to make this stuff work. As a side note, I visited the truck that was parked outside of Harry's on 5th Ave in Edmonds. Really bad spot to be in during a pandemic as they were essentially blocking the side walk and the crowd purchasing these were mixing with the crowd for Harry's and people walking up the street. This is the real cookie dough, this is not faux-dough designed to look like cookie dough; you could make a cookie from this. The great Nestle Toulouse could not make such a dough. Especially their "Cookie Monster." As I write this, my partner is saying helpful things like "others make cookies, you just ate the dough."
