I have come here about 4 times and finally got around to writing the review. I am not a huge fan of their coffee but my husband loves it. I am more of a sweeter drink girl. None the less, the donuts are always fresh and they also have breakfast sandwiches to pick from. Bagels look really good but have not tried yet. They can also make smoothies which my kids love. my donuts and pastries have always been just right. we will continue to have our weekly routine of coffee and donuts on lazy Saturday mornings. I cannot eat any other deli sandwiches now that I have Sugar and Spice in my life. I don't know what it is about them, but there's nothing else like it. My absolute favorite is their chicken salad on toasted white bread with lettuce, cucumbers, banana peppers and jalapenos. Their egg salad is also tasty too...but the chicken salad is to die for. The best part is that it is so very local! The owner is there almost every single time I'm in. Not only do I obsess over their sandwiches and dream of them until I have it again, but their housemade pastries are to die for as well...along the lines of Bashas. The sprinkled donut is a staple of my visits, but their chocolate croissant is definitely a must-have as well. I have had their cronut too, but it was a little too sweet for my liking. I've got their sandwich to go and eat picnic style at the Litchfield Park Lake too and it's just so dang glorious! Bagel: Ordered an "everything" bagel. Unfortunately the bagel had "everything" on top, but "nothing" on the bottom. Their bagels have changed, I'm assuming a change in staff or process. Coffee: The vanilla hazelnut coffee (hot) is perfect! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for their ice coffee...it taste like coffee grounds. I came here after much recommendations from coworkers. They had brought in muffins and this delicious apple turnover. Both experiences have been heavenly. The muffins were exquisite and the apple turnover, my absolute FAVE! I finally had their breakfast and it wasn't my favorite but the donuts were really good! I had a croissant sandwich and it was too greasy. My husband had a burrito and the egg was a weird color and kinda bland. This is probably one of those things where it never happens to anyone else but always happens to me, but I got a bacon egg and cheese burrito with salsa on the side - was really excited to try this place I've never been to. I got home and looked in the bag - no salsa. This follows a recent ongoing struggle I have trying to get my "on the side" sauces prefaced by a trip to Panda Express last night that failed to provide my teriyaki sauce on the side and my sweet and sour sauces on the side as well. This is by far my favorite donut shop in the West Valley. No greasy gross donuts here. Only fluffy and delicious masterpieces. The apple fritter is amazing and crisp on the outside with a nice balance of softness on the inside. The chocolate bar has all the sweetness and fluff I could dream of without any greasiness. Definitely a weekend tradition and the perfect thing to take into work for an office meeting or celebration. The coffee is delicious too. This place is super close to me, which can be dangerous! The donuts are delicious and they make yummy mixed coffee drinks as well. They even have a day old discount section where there is always sure to be a treat! Tried to come and get a sandwich today. They said they close at 2. It was 1:15 when I called and the young girl said they would only make food for the next 5 minutes. I told her I was about 10 minutes away and she said sorry. We close at 2. I just said ok and hung up despite the fact that they had plenty of time until they closed. As a local, this place is a great alternative to other quick breakfast options. As a stand alone, it's ok. I had a ham and turkey bagel sandwich this morning, and it was fine. Low quality deli meats, but the sandwich was made with sufficient fillings. The clear winners were the donuts and scone I brought home. The chocolate chip scone was dense and moist, just like a good scone should be. The cinnamon crumb donut nearly melted in my mouth. We will return if only for tasty weekend treats. read more

This is a cute small breakfast shop! I have seen a couple reviews with poor ratings - either because of the walls having some landscape issues, or because prices have gone up. Understanding that this is a locally owned business that has to keep up with competitors, the prices at this location are very reasonable. The donuts are delicious, hands down, and the coffee is also very good. The owners are incredibly sweet, and the staff is helpful. There are a lot of families / mothers with kids, so if you want a quiet area to read or do homework....take it to go. OTHERWISE this is a cute and quaint shop if you're looking to go somewhere besides Starbucks. It is also very clean and there have been renovations made to the store, so take old photos with a grain of salt. These guys are top notch! Being in Foodservice sales for almost 20 years; I understand different places use different ingredients blah blah blah. Obviously, everyone wants to stand apart from each other. Well, a few months back I came in and they had a different raspberry filling in their donut and it happened to be my favorite type of filling. The one with the seeds in it. You know the one . Well, It was a one off because their distributor sent the wrong one. I just happened to get lucky that day lol. Well, every time I come in since then I ask them if they got more of it lol. I always strike out. Until today! I came in. Didn't see any rasp filled donuts left so I didn't ask. But the owner saw me come in, remembered me, grabbed a glazed donut and made me a make shift raspberry filled donut with the awesome filling that I love! These guys are the real deal. Tried this place based on the reviews here. But, I have to say it's not that great. The selection looked lacking and there wasn't anything mind blowing. The only donut worthwhile was the bacon maple donut. Which was pretty good. To top it off, the young girl shorted me a sprinkle chocolate donut. Overall, it's just a 3 out of 5 stars. Customer service was a bit poor, as the baristas did not look friendly, and sounded like they did not want to be there. It made me more hesitant to ask questions about their drink options. I wanted a green tea latte, but they did not serve that. I wanted to ask if they can use the matcha boba drink powder, but the cashier's face told me that if I asked, it'll ruin his day. I'm not exaggerating... We also ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a bowl, and a burrito to go. There are a LOT of eggs in the meal, so if you're an egg lover, check it out. Really cute little bakery/coffee house. I picked up a 2 croissants, 2 chocolate chip scones and a small coffee called an almond joy (or something along those lines) They also had doughnuts. The coffee was just ok, a little sweet but just ok. The scones were the best! The croissants were fluffy and buttery. Had the second late in the evening and it was just as great! The woman behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. I gave it 3 stars because its missing something. I could get everything they have at Albertsons. Stopped in here before my graduate class at the neighboring high school. I saw the smoothies sign and was delighted as I was hoping for a Jamba Juice on the way over- even better, a locally owned spot with smoothies! The girls working behind the counter weren't friendly or rude- just took my order and made my smoothie. My smoothie was a-ok. It could have been blended a bit longer to get rid of all of the ice. If it weren't for my grandparents living across the way from this place there is no way I would ever have found this bakery. Seeing as there are very few food choices in the vicinity I made my way here. I ordered a choc chip scone and an espresso. The scone was dry and broke apart easily while the espresso was decent. The folks that run this place are so very enthusiastic. I have ordered two times a variety of product, cookies and such for neighbor get together at my home. Both times I found the baked goods very dry and void of any richness. But knowing it might just be me I ask my guests what they think, after explaining they should tell the truth as I bought not made these tid bits and want to know if I should spend the money again. Very good bakery right down the street with good hours. This morning we picked up croissants to-go. My DH had ham and cheese which he reports was very good, but perhaps too much ham. I had turkey and cheese and removed the majority of the turkey because it was too much meat for me. My dad had ham and cheese and thought it was great! My mom had a lemon croissant which she reports is excellent. I should add that my husband and I aren't huge meat eaters, so many people would consider the amount of meat to be a sufficient and acceptable quantity. There were numerous people sitting on the tables outside and everyone looked to be having a great time! The bakery did offer a croissant that I believe had jalapeños and ham and it made me think how good a nice, savory croissant with only cheese and jalapeños could be. Yummy!! Ordered two cakes from Sugar N Spice last week. One for my husband's birthday- a small round yellow cake with cookies n cream frosting, and a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing for my friend's shower. Both were delicious but I must say the chocolate cake was AMAZING and the decorations were beautiful. Everyone complimented me on the cake and asked where I got it. Both cakes were yummy and moist. When I ordered the cake, the manager (?) had me sit down at one of the tables (I had my babies with me) and took my order personally from my table. The cakes were reasonably priced (about $30 for the smaller one and $40 for the medium one which fed 13 people) Also I got a 10% military discount because my husband is military. Fabulous cake and fabulous service. I will definitely use them again. Also I'm loading a picture of the cake I ordered for the shower.
