I made the mistake coming here instead of Bosa. Won't do that again! I got a maple bar. Not only does it look TERRIBLE it has a burnt taste to it. I went back for a second bite hoping it would be better than the first. YUCK!!! This thing is going in the trash! They do a good business so obviously they are doing something right. The line was to the door. Maybe this was an off day and oil was set too high or the oil was old. But this is hands down the worst donut and maple bar I have ever had. Cashier is beyond rude. Been going here since they opened, but I won't be back. Dining room has gone downhill and there is a fan pointed toward the kitchen above the front door that looks like it has never been cleaned. Food is always good. I drove to 3 different doughnut places before we landed on this one to enjoy a small outting with my kids. The dining area for seating was closed over so we had to get anything purchased to go. The doughnuts well what was left inside the cases which literally wasn't much did not look appealing at all. Everything we wanted or asked for they did not have. I got 2 doughnuts and a medium iced pumpkin chai and when I tell you thus far the worst doughnut experience ever. It was almost noon, I understand it probably not being as fresh as it would be in the morning but come on. They taste like they had been sitting for at least a day or two. They were so dry and the icing on top was crusty. I couldn't even eat the doughnut at all. My 7 year opted for the oreo glaze one and even he didn't care for it and said he did not want to go back there for sure. The chai tasted like concentrate poured over ice, I had to add more ice and water just to try and drink it down. None of the 3 items were worth the money at all and for just under $20 they should definitely be ashamed of themselves. Keep driving or walking trust me. read more

As I walked into the bakery I was pleasantly surprised by the vast assortment of baked goods, such as, fresh muffins, cupcakes, bagels, donuts, cookies, and coffee. Sugar N Spice even serves breakfast sandwiches and lunches as well. On this visit I tried the cinnamon rolls, almond pastries, and bear claws. These pastries were huge, fresh, and delicious. I've been coming here for several years. I love it! The workers are always so nice and the food and drinks are very good. I came in at 12:30 today. They don't close till 2 and the lady behind the counter seemed more interest in cleaning than helping me. She wasn't very friendly and just seemed annoyed that I was there. Every time I read the reviews I wonder...maybe they just aren't morning people? Today we got our first legit smile,,,but only after commenting..busy morning all of a sudden? We have tried this spot about 6 times because it is close however, it's always hit and miss. Maybe because we love breakfast sandwiches, and try to resist the beautiful baked goods, here is what I recommend. If you want baked goods and straight coffee or good smoothies...this is your spot! If you want a breakfast sandwich that is toasted, or with any change off the menu..or without meat...it just causes confusion and only once have we walked away with what we asked for (and it was great). Today..approached hopefully...wheat toast, mustard, ham,Cheese,egg../ toasted bagel, Cheese,egg....normally would have an oat milk chai hot..but never very hot so went nonfat chai. And black tea w room for cream. Basic. Wheat bread not toasted. Cold. But I checked first and they gladly redid it..(wait) I saw them take it apart..toast new toast...then scraped off the burnt part..set aside...prepped two burritos..went back..put it together and brought it over. No mustard, insides cold but, I got toast! Bagel not toasted..but warm! Chai...almost hot! Tea..went to add milk...only one container..no label..added and stirred. (I should have checked) On the road my husband took a sip...what is this? Almond milk. Ugh. So, stick to what is in the display case and smoothies and you'll be fine. The food was mediocre at the very best. We had an egg bowl and an egg sandwich. Both of which were bland. The bagel was dense with a weird texture and the muffins were dry. The silverware and napkins are non-functional and you're better off using your hands to eat your food and your shirt to wipe your face. The condition of the inside is disturbing and it is clear they have no standards on appearance. We did not try the donuts so can't comment on that. I really wanted to like this place. I was the only customer when I walked in, with 4 young ladies working. One of them had to tell the other to help me. I told her it was my first time here. She just shrugged it off. Most of the time when you go some place for the 1st time. They welcome you and tell you about the shop. This did not happen. The girl at the register was questioning the other about money. She wanted to know who took money from the register. Two of them said not me, then the 3rd said she took 30. The girl in charge did not seem happy. Anyway, after listening to thier drama I was handed my box of 5 donuts. I also ordered a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. Few minutes later I received it. I ask for ketchup and the girl who took the money from the register. Told me yes in the back, I asked it I could have some. She brought it to me like it was a huge bother. Spent 15.00 in total with a soda too. I left, and went to eat. I opened my sandwich and the bacon was burnt to a crisp. I was already to far away to return it. The only reason I left two stars, is because the donuts are not that bad. Even though I got treated poorly. I could see if you are a regular they treat you better. When I was leaving and family came in and the staff was happy to help them. They even asked why they did not come to the shop last weekend. Clearly the owners should go over etiquette with the staff. They are so kind and went out of their way to make sure that the donuts were everything we hoped for. They even delivered and set up for us, which was a huge help! 3.5 starts... Mixed feelings... Went here on a Saturday morning around 9am... The place was busy, but not too bad. Service is quick, there were several people at the counter ready to help... We ordered 1/2 doz donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Donuts were given to us right away, sandwiches took a few minutes to prepare. BREAKFAST BAGEL (egg, sausage, cheese). You can choose from their variety of cheese and bagels... Nice and warm, a lighter bagel, not super dense, warm and toasted slightly. Hubby ordered a BREAKFAST CROISSANT and same thing, it was nice and hot, a decent portion. Good sandwiches for the price. Hubby also wanted to try their CHORIZO breakfast burrito.. It would've been good, except that it was very spicy. Our tolerance to spicy food is a little low but we can usually handle a little spice... But this was too spicy, he couldn't have more than a couple bites. Not sure how I feel about the donuts.. My kid had a chocolate bar.. It was very soft, airy/light, and moist.. All good qualities except that it tasted like maybe it was a bit undercooked, too yeasty... I also sampled their blueberry old fashion, chocolate old fashion, and chocolate buttermilk... These donuts all tasted very dry and not much flavor. I expected a burst of blueberry flavor, but it's was extremely subtle... And there was no taste to the chocolate old fashion. the layer of chocolate glaze was thin (which is fine) but there wasn't any chocolate flavor (where are you?!). The chocolate glazed buttermilk has a little more donut taste to it, but also a bit too dry. The decor where you order is cute, warm, inviting, and very pink... The dining area in the next room felt bare/bland, even with all the cute wall art. It wasn't necessarily dirty or messy, but there wasn't really anyone checking on the dining area and straightening up, I actually wiped down a table myself so we can use it. The chairs that were rearranged by previous customers stayed that way.. And the tables and chairs seemed dated and didn't match the cute decor of the other room (where you order)... Whenever I'm back in town, I wouldn't mind coming back for their breakfast bagels/croissants, but I've had better donuts. read more

What is the aversion to using boxes with these people!!! They make a pretty good product but they care so little about it when they shove 6 donuts into a wax bag!!! All the glaze or flavor now ends up on every other product or worse the bag!!! Figure it out people, you're charging enough money to use boxes it's a little ridiculous!!! Otherwise the staff is friendly, the place gets busy fast, lots of options, coffee drinks are OK (not bucks or dutch), breakfast sandwiches are good and fresh not powdered eggs like the mac ... overall pretty damn good unless you want to bring home a bag of goo then you have to demand a box! read more

I'm done with this place. If customers aren't there when S 'n S opens at 6 AM, there won't be any doughnuts ready. This shop would rather sell out and close up early than make the appropriate amount of items to accommodate walk-in customers. If your products are not available, it doesn't matter how good they are because you're losing out on opportunities to sell and annoying customers to the point they abandon your business. Further, there was a hastily hand-written sign on the entry door about being short-staffed, and "if you can't wait, fill out an application." That level of smart-ass sarcasm directed at customers says a lot about the management and is probably a strong indicator of why the store is understaffed. In the end, customers better off driving half a mile to Dunkin or traveling the extra 25 miles to Baxley to Holt's Sweet Shop. You can get fresh doughnuts all day at those stores, not just 3 days a week at 6 AM, and the management and staff are way more friendly and customer-focused. read more

I would recommend trying the pistachio muffin & cranberry/orange muffin which are my favorite here besides their breakfast sandwich which are made to order. They have a variety of selections of pastries such as donuts, filled croissants, muffins and many others. My favorite drink is the SNS iced coffee which is more like your Vietnamese style coffee.
