It's a busy place but service was great and the food was too although expensive. We bought some candy on the way out and hope to try the fancy desserts next time. Very cute vibes. I want to especially thank the young photographer, Valeria, who was going around offering photos! She did a great job capturing our toddler smiling against the colorful backdrop. We weren't sure we would purchase a picture, but the photo came out too perfect to resist! Thank you, Valeria, for capturing this priceless memory! You're very talented and we so appreciated it! read more

Overall, I'd rate this location a 2/5. The ambience and unique dining cannot and does not out wait bad service I visited Sugar Factory for a birthday celebration, and unfortunately, it was very underwhelming compared to other Sugar Factory locations I've experienced. The biggest issue was the customer service. The staff came across as uninterested, RUDE, dismissive and unmotivated. It felt like taking orders or even serving drinks was a chore rather than their job. That lack of energy really impacted the overall experience. I will say, they do a great job celebrating birthdays. The team is coordinated, upbeat, and really brings excitement with their dancing and presentation, which made the birthday guest feel special. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. The drinks are visually appealing, as expected, but the overall experience falls short of being flavorful just sweet. I did try the pink hot chocolate. It was different. More like a crème. read more

If you have a daughter and looking for a special restaurant to take her to celebrate This is the place!!! This is a beautiful Restaurant experience!! The restaurant is decorated so cleverly! There are glass chandeliers, walls that have roses encased in them, fake candy on another wall, and the most beautiful and elegant light up tree!! It's like a restaurant from a fairy tale! The food was very good. I recommend the Chicken and waffles, foot long cheese stick, the sampler, and much more. They have fun food and more serious dishes like a hand burger made with real gold!!! I haven't even gotten to the desserts!! There is beautiful ice cream sundaes, banana splits, and if you have a big party, you can get the biggest ice cream sundaes that has about 20 scoops of ice cream and the works!!! We had the most friendly and helpful server. Her name was Lizzy. She was amazing!!! They also have glorious fish bowl drinks. They can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. I just can't say enough good things about this place really really beautiful place to read more

I recently visited the Sugar Factory in Jacksonville for lunch on two consecutive occasions for lunch. I returned a second time for lunch because the first experience went so well, and there was so much on the new menu, I wanted to give it a try again. On the first visit, there were two of us and we tried the Nashville hot platter (an appetizer) and a couple of their new mixed drinks. The menus we'd been given we knew that day, and had just started with new options and new drinks. We tried the drink called pretty and pink, and one called Bubba Bubba gum. Both were amazing! The Nashville hot platter was enough for two people on a lunch break. We were going to order chicken Parmesan for two, but it's a good thing we didn't since that would've fed about eight people. The second day we were craving the pasta still, so we returned. We ordered the pink lady drink and an Oreo cookie dream drink. Again, both were fantastic. The chicken Parmesan for two was enough food to feed four people in one sitting. It was amazing! As far as staff, they were all incredible. We were the only two in there the first day for lunch and only among a handful the second day so we were able to get pretty personal service. Both days is the Wait staff were entertaining and enjoyed our company. They definitely seemed to enjoy their job and entertaining people there to enjoy a meal in the atmosphere. I would definitely return, and if you're up for a little bit more of a wild and crazy night, they do have a nightclub atmosphere, Friday and Saturday night after 9 PM. It would definitely be interesting to see that crowd! read more

When I saw that a Sugar Factory opened in Jacksonville, I was instantly transported back to being a teenager seeing photos of celebrities with those iconic Sugar Factory fishbowl drinks and knew I had to go! We visited for brunch and were surprised at how quiet it was. The décor is fun and whimsical, complete with its own candy shop, and the menu is huge with lots of playful options. Service was fine, kind and polite but nothing that stands out. I ordered a mimosa flight and the Flamin' Hot Cheeto burger. Both were visually over-the-top and Instagram-worthy, but the flavor didn't quite live up to the presentation. If I were to return, I'd skip the food and stick to their signature cocktails, they're what Sugar Factory does best! Overall, it's a fun spot for colorful drinks, photos, and an extravagant atmosphere, even if the food itself isn't the main draw. read more

Took my daughter and her friend as part of our spring break "stay-cation" adventures. They absolutely loved it!! They got the insane pancakes and they were truly insane - my gosh it must have weighed 10 pounds! Hubby and I got the chicken parm for two - we almost finished the entire thing between us. Our server was so sweet and patient with all our questions. With tip, it was just under $130. A bit pricey for brunch, but it was worth it. Definitely the place to go for a special occasion. Sweet, savory and gorgeous all in one place! These all describe sugar factory, and let me tell you why. First me and my family tried the sampler Tray which contains buffalo wings, onion rings, mac n cheese balls, and chicken tenders. Which all were super delicious! We also got the foot long cheese stick which was Mind blowing!! And it was so good!!! Then we got the pad Thai noodles and penne Alfredo which both were very flavorful and they give you great portions to share with your family! And for desert we had the banana split all three flavors of ice cream with the candied bananas which was my favorite part was super super good!!! And our waiter Lizzy was awesome! She helped us to water when needed and we are a saucy family and she definitely mad sure we had all we needed to have a wonderful experience!!! And so in conclusion you should definitely go to this place it has great food and it was so perfectly decorated with beautiful chandeliers and gorgeous light up trees!! This place definitely did not disappoint!!! read more

I wasn't impressed with this place. We walked in and they weren't that busy(only 25%). We ordered a specialty drink and our food. Food came out and we were almost done before even getting the drink. The onion rings were greasy and I didn't eat them. We asked for takeout containers and she brought those and bags and disappeared for 10 minutes. For so few people the service really was not good. I may try again but again just not worth the hype. They did discount my bill for the onion rings but damage is done. Also the specialty drink is 42 but 90 % ice read more

I took my daughter today to the sugar factory for lunch for her 21st birthday. I received the worst customer service, it took 14 minutes to get the attention of a server to place our order. My daughter and I after waiting an hour for chicken and waffles were told the machine that distributes the waffle mix was not working properly. No one ever informed us until I flagged the manager down after waiting an hour. Had someone informed us of the issue we would have been given the opportunity to order something else. I don't recommend this location Sugar Factory. read more

In town for a personal appointment. Don't know where to start with this one. This place is terrible. Has the chicken and waffles and it was horrendous. Chicken over cooked and all the food and drinks are severely overpriced. 2 adults and a 13 year old (who had chicken fingers) meal came to $163 with tip? Wife had a small plate of quesadillas. The service. One person waitressing, hosting and serving. The wait was WAY too long for the amount of people in the restaurant. Definitely NOT returning. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was honestly terrible. The only positive thing was that our server was nice -- unfortunately, that's where it ended. Service was unbelievably slow. We were the only table in the restaurant for the first hour, and even after that there were only two other tables. Drinks took forever to come out, we never received refills, and our menus were never cleared from the table. No plates were pre-bussed either, which just added to the overall neglect. Food was very disappointing, especially for the price. My salmon came out after everyone else had already finished eating, which was frustrating and awkward. When it finally arrived, it was not good -- honestly tasted like frozen, low-quality food. Somebody ordered a sirloin, but what came out was 100% a New York strip, and it wasn't cooked or seasoned well at all. Side of potatoes were not cooked all the way.. another persons flat bread came out and was absolutely covered in oil, literally swimming in a puddle of oil. Everything here is extremely overpriced for the quality. Our tab was $300, and nothing about the food, timing, or experience justified that cost. This place looks fun on social media, but in reality it's all hype and no execution. Would not return and definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

They once did military discount but disappointed they take it away. The 18% rate for the expensive is a little much but understandable cause they do dance and sing. The service was nice and the employees are bubbly energetic personalities. The candy shop has alot of options. read more

Expensive. Our lunch of a salad with 11.00 small shrimp and a burger with fries and 2 cups of water with tip came to $70. I also asked for no pickle, but I got that on my burger anyway, I will say the burger was delicious and so were the fries. We were the only ones eating there and I'm starting to understand why. It was cold outside and it was cold inside. And the wait time was a little long for what we got. Bottom line everything was OK, but it was too expensive. read more

I will honestly say that this experience was picture worthy and a fun idea, but when it comes to quality of food and level of service, the Sugar Factory is very underwhelming. I really did enjoy the dancing and fun time, but with all the dancing we did get subpar service. It took a very long time to order drinks and then a huge delay on ordering. The food took a very long time to come out, and we had to return one item. I think this could have been largely due to the servers having to dance and being pulled many directions. I have to also mention the cost. The price of the drinks and food is really expensive for the quality of food. My party had two kids that wanted to try the rainbow burgers. It was unreal the price for those little burger plus the speciality drinks. This may be a good place for someone that wants to do something picture worthy for a special occasion, but I don't think this was a great choice for me. read more

I don't get the hype of this place. Very mediocre, candy area was small, food gross. We walked in and restaurant was cold. Quite a few red flags or little signs that were being left as an indicator to leave, but we had in-laws and wanted to try it out. Sweet tea was from tap and not freshly brewed. For being a restaurant I don't understand why tea wasn't fresh, you can get fresh tea at Chick-fil-A. We ordered the Mac and cheese pops as an appetizer, good but the middle was cold. I ordered the turkey club, not great, lettuce seemed old. My mother in law ordered grilled chicken sandwich which was just; tons of lettuce, thick pieces of avocado, basically a chicken tender on hard brioche buns. Yuck. 0 out of 10. We had 2 bites of our food then quickly asked for the check and to go boxes. We ended up throwing the food away. This place is more of cocktail and mixed drinks establishment. read more

We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while and were genuinely excited when we managed to get a reservation for Mother's Day--a notoriously busy day for dining out. It felt like the perfect chance to finally experience it. I arrived on time for our reservation, only to find the restaurant completely empty, which immediately felt strange. After standing there for a couple of minutes with no greeting, someone finally approached me and explained they were having WiFi issues and had to close. He said they "tried to email everyone" with reservations, but it didn't work. What made the situation worse was the lack of care in handling it. He was able to pull up my reservation right in front of me, so clearly, some systems were functioning. There was no real apology, no effort to call guests ahead of time, no compensation or offer to make things right--just a shrug and a "sorry." Because of their failure to notify us, we were left scrambling and unable to find another reservation or table, as it was already prime lunch time on Mother's Day. We understand that technical issues happen. But the way a business responds is what defines the customer experience. In this case, it felt like we didn't matter at all. We left disappointed and won't be returning. read more

We made a reservation on OpenTable for 11:00pm. We arrived for our reservation at 10:52. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess who informed us that they were getting ready to shut down table service so our "best bet" was to sit at the bar with a party of our size "2" because it was still full service. It was raining and I forgot my phone in the car so I went back out to get it while my friend waited inside. When I came back in we walked to the bar and easily found 2 seats (it was fairly empty) and the music was very low. Not what we were expecting at all. All in all we ordered 2 big drinks and one small cocktail, guacamole and chips and salsa and chips. The bartenders were nice. It wasn't the vibe we were expecting but overall we made it a great time. Oh and I received an email from OpenTable this morning asking me to verify whether I attended or not because the restaurant marked us as a no-show. read more

We came here to celebrate our friend's birthday but wanted to take advantage of their happy hour. We were initially seated at the regular table but after the wait staff found out we wanted to order from the happy hour menu, they moved us to the bar, I was a little confused as to why!? Love the unique and boujee decor, I guess that's what the hype is all about. Anyway, our bartender was very sweet and attentive, we got the margaritas and tacos, food and drinks were good, nothing special though, just typically bar food. I would like to give it another try and experience the real sugar factory next time, and I suppose we will need to order from the regular menu so we can sit at the regular table. One Star - Absolutely Horrendous Experience If I could give zero stars, I would. We took our son to the Sugar Factory in Jacksonville for his 13th birthday--something we had planned for over a month--and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Despite having a reservation made a month in advance, we were told we'd have to sit outside in the cold if we wanted to eat. After multiple requests (4+ times, to be exact), they finally turned on the outdoor heater--long after we were already freezing. The menu? Practically a joke. They were out of nearly everything. The $40 drink we ordered for our son was missing most of the signature toppings. The rubber duck that was supposed to come with the sliders? Nope, out of that too. My husband tried to order waffles--also unavailable. It got to the point where he and I just decided not to bother ordering at all and grabbed food elsewhere. When our sons' food did finally arrive, it was completely wrong. And while we tried to be patient, we were quite literally ignored for an hour. Attempting to find a manager? Useless--he had apparently "left" mid-shift. As if things couldn't get worse, when we asked for to-go boxes, they gave us paper plates and aluminum foil because they were out of actual containers. The bathroom situation wasn't any better--the women's restroom was out of toilet paper, and staff didn't seem to care. To top it all off, they completely disregarded that we were there to celebrate our son's thirteenth birthday. No acknowledgment, no effort--just a sky-high $230 bill for an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. I am genuinely baffled by how disorganized and unprofessional this place is. Save your money, your time, and your sanity--go literally anywhere else. We will never, ever be back. read more

Yelp has some negative connotation reviews of this restaurant. I feel that reviews are based on your own personal experiences and where you have lived and what you are used to. Having said that the prices at this restaurant are more expensive. You can pay $25 for a signature cocktail. Or $85 for a specialty dessert that feeds 3 to 6. But these items are just that, specialty! They are beautiful, and they are creative! There is even a 24 carat burger specialty meal that you can buy at a minuscule price of $150. This is a burger experience, unlike no other! IMO the prices did not bother me. I don't mind paying for unique dining experiences especially when they are in positive energy environments, and beautiful atmospheres. And this is what you get at the Sugar Factory. The background music was also nice and upbeat. Located in the St. John's Town Center, there is parking all around the restaurant. The restaurant is large and can hold large groups and has two beautiful patio areas - one on each side of the building - for alfresco dining. There are booths and tables to sit at and don't forget the beautiful large bar area in the back. Huge screen monitors provide video entertainment and an actual candy store is located inside. The interior is exquisitely beautiful sophisticated, trendy, and clean. The restaurant of course is less busy during the week if you want to go for a quieter time because on the weekends, it is hustling! Monday through Thursday, less crowded. Friday, Saturday, Sunday busy busy busy and you will need a reservation to get in. You can make a reservation on OpenTable, by calling the number posted on this review, or by going to the website linked on the listing here. The weight staff is excellent and we did not encounter any issues at all on this visit. Our meals included the bacon blue cheeseburger, and the Cajun Alfredo pasta. They were both delicious and warm and served in an appropriate amount of time. We had already chosen a specialty cocktail for our dessert, but we were stuffed and could not order it after the meal. Next time I will order the."All I want for Christmas. " specialty drink first, so I am sure to enjoy it. It's a limited menu for Christmas, but they do have every drink you desire, created with imagination and yumminess. It was fun to drive through the St. John's town center afterwards as it is decorated for Christmas right now. Come check it out, it was a great experience for us. Bring your friends because there's plenty of drinks to share and lots of room for them. The menu is huge and there are some delectable items that you wont find anywhere else. Enjoy! read more

I had been eager to check out sugar factory- their bright colors and elaborate drinks intrigued me, but their massive appeal to children deterred me. (Sorry, not sorry, i'm not a kids person). So when bestie was in town and I played hookie to day drink on a weekday, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to finally check it out. I'd been to the space before when it was Bacaro (which i loved), and honestly sugar factory did an incredible job to fill the huge space elegantly but still in a fun candy centric way. We had the place practically to ourselves (which yes it was a weekday after lunch but before dinner), but you'd think there'd be some patrons to warrant the doors being open. We opted to sit at the bar & our bartender was awesome. Very personal & engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. My blood orange margarita was good, but DEF not worth $19. The price list for drinks here is insane, up to $40 for a drink (which can be shared but doesnt have to be). Also the menu is GIGANTIC and overwhelming. Like nothing stands out as their specialty, it's just quantity over quality. We didnt get food, but again the menu was so overwhelming how could anything be appealing? Seems like it would be all cisco products, not fresh or local ingredients. This whole experience just solidifies that I'm much more into craft cocktails, local food, and talented chefs, not chain restaurants. Maybe go once for the experience, but I'd rather spend $15-$20 on a cocktail elsewhere. read more

The food was horrible, substandard and gross! The ribeye was the worst I've ever had. Knowing that the sour factory is not a steakhouse, I ordered not expecting 5 star, but negative-1 star was a major disappointment. Never never never will we go there again. The Caesar salad was old, wilted and did not have croutons! The salad dressing was gross! Ken's have better dressing. The chips for the artichoke dip were stale! It's cute but it's a very touristy spot so it's a little odd they opened at the town center The food is expensive for I assume the ambiance and the goblets are $39 but they are definitely boozy. It's one of those places you go for the vibe but not for the food. I'd come back for dessert or a fancy drink but not for dinner. I got the big cheesy burger and the Mac topping was cold and the bun felt like it had been in the fridge. Once I took the bun off it did have nice flavor. The fries were good and flavored nicely. Our server was ok but for how empty it was when we got there it was slow. The menu has the tiniest font and the printing makes it blurry and a bit hard to read. Overall it's meh. read more

My partner and I decided to stop by after some shopping in town center. But unfortunately it was the worst experience ever! Don't get me wrong the drinks were great! Not amazing, but the serves, manager, and cook was unprofessional! I ordered a burger and as I was asked "How would you like it cooked" I said "medium rare" got my burger over cooked, asked the waiter to send it back. The response from the server (2) of them came back with "oh they won't make another one because the cook and manager said it will come out the same! This is the second time we have gone to Sugar Factory but this is the first time at this location. Our waitress was incredible and super friendly and you can tell she loves what she does. Today is my mom's birthday and they came out and did the song and ice cream that my mom picked out. I really wish there was a location closer to us so we can go a lot more often. The Cajun shrimp Alfredo was AMAZING!!! It had the right amount of seasoning and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that the portion isn't that big for a $30 meal. For my drink I had the Mai Tai goblet and it was sooo good, I want to try other flavors. My mom had the same Alfredo and I did and she loved hers. My youngest daughter had the waffle with whipped cream and strawberries which she really enjoyed. So we finally got a chance to try this place. As a national chain, it didn't surprise me with many of the decor items, and the patmosphere was typical. Even though we had reservations, we still had a bit of a wait. After being seated, both my wife and kids said that the music was pretty loud. The menu was extensive with a variety of different styles of cuisine to choose from. Our server did a pretty good job of explaining the menu and advice on how to order. So, my wife ordered the shrimp stir-fry while I did the steak. My middle daughter had the Carne asada tacos, while my youngest ordered an app of chicken tenders with fries and loaded BBQ pork fries as the entrée. Her BFF had the pasta dish without any protein. I chose to order an app, chips, and salsa while we waited. I wish I could say that I was impressed with the meals, but I couldn't lie about it. After about 30 minutes, our server began telling my wife they didn't have any more shrimp, so she had to change it to the steak. When the food finally arrived after 20 more minutes, all dishes were served except for my wife's since she had the substitute for the shrimp dinner. That didn't make her happy as it was the same as my order. As we began eating, I noticed that the food was pretty salty for my taste, and the steak was chewy. Once my wife got her bowl, she agreed and was disappointed since she had her heart on the shrimp. The girls each felt their meals were okay, but not great. My wife decided to order a drink to help wash her pallet. She got the margarita on the rocks. She felt the drink was pretty good, considering. I would like to say that they did redeem themselves with the dessert as the girls ordered a massive sundae called the Cookie Jar. They didn't skimp on it, and they said everything was delicious! My wife went to wash up afterward due to all the sweet stickiness, which she stated the ladies' room was gross and needed attention. When I got the check, I was shocked to see the bill for the table. Considering the portions were adequate, but was sub-par for the price. The only thing that stood out was the dessert and drink, I found we could've done better elsewhere like the Cheesecake Factory. I can't see myself coming back to this place anytime soon. read more

Going into it, I had pretty much decided this is an "experience" restaurant, meaning I am there for the photos, the pretty food and drinks, and the vibe. If food and service were great, it would be a bonus. We had reservations for a Saturday afternoon, and while it was busy, it wasn't packed. That being said, it's LOUD. Like really loud. The space is gorgeous: open and opulent with lots of photo walls, and patterns. Its was rainy out, so the patio wasn't in use, but I bet it would be great on a nice day. Our party of five was there for my son's 15th birthday (and mine too, but mostly his). We were seated fairly close to our reservation time, and had a great table. Service was friendly but not the fastest. I ordered a blood orange margarita, and they didn't have the ingredients to make it but I subbed in a regular, and that was quite good. The menu is extensive and pricey. For a once in a while celebration, that was fine. I get a little overwhelmed with sensory excess, so it took a few minutes to figure out what to eat. Ultimately, my mom and I split the sliders and onion rings, and the birthday boy got a breakfast burger, served on a waffle with bacon, sausage, gravy, and hash browns. The other two guests in the party had a chicken sandwich and burger respectively. All in all the food was solid. Accommodations were considered (my husband requested mayo on the side and no salt/seasoning on his fries and this was done), and the portions were a decent size for the price. Desserts are absolutely huge, so my parents ended up splitting cheesecake which they loved, and I split a nutella banana milkshake with my son. As we were finishing that, the servers came out, singing, with two bowls of vanilla ice cream with pyrotechnics - no sooner had they put one in front of me, then they came back out for my son. The birthday energy is unreal and it's quite a fun show. This is 100% not a weekly or even monthly visit for us. This is big celebration/big group/novelty energy. There are still some hiccups as the place is new but I think they will get there. read more

1 star Sugar Factory - Jacksonville, FL We gave Sugar Factory Jacksonville two chances in one week, and both times were absolutely awful. If you're considering this place for a fun night out or a good meal in Jacksonville--don't waste your time. Visit #1 - Monday, 6/30 (Lunch): We walked into a completely empty restaurant. Two managers were sitting at a table, made eye contact, and didn't say a word. No greeting, no welcome, no one made an effort to seat us. After standing there awkwardly, we left and went somewhere else. That should've been our warning sign. Visit #2 - Tuesday, 7/1 (Dinner): Service was painfully slow. Only two other tables were occupied, yet it took over 15 minutes just to get drinks. I ordered a watermelon margarita--it tasted like pure juice with zero alcohol. We were also told they were out of ducks (which is half the reason people come here for drinks). The food? Total disaster. Everything came out at different times. One person in our party got fajitas with raw tortillas. Another ordered chicken Alfredo--the chicken was rubbery and tough. On top of that, while we were still eating, the staff started mopping the floor around our table. The smell of harsh cleaning chemicals completely ruined the entire meal. This place is all gimmick and no substance. Poor service, inedible food, unprofessional staff, and zero attention to the guest experience. There's a reason this restaurant is always empty. Skip Sugar Factory Jacksonville and go literally anywhere else. read more

Before hitting the theaters last weekend, my girl and I grabbed drinks and extra grub at the Sugar factory! Going in, the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and had a plethora of seating. Reminded me of an upscale tea room. That day, we ordered 1x order of wings, 1x cotton candy fish bowl, and 1x dirty martini. Going into my review, despite all the beauty inside, our service that evening was dreadful. The dirty martini was ok, but the cotton candy drink tasted like pure sugar, and we actually never had a chance to taste the food as we waited over an hour. During our experience, we had 2 bartenders at the bar, during which, no one checked up on us, and we had to flag down another bartender to make us a drink and check on our order. In addition, after the long wait, we were shocked to discover that there was an automatic 20% gratuity charge. Fortunately, we spoke to the manager named Lindsay. She was very understanding, and not only compted our bill, but also allowed us to take free candy home. But based on our experience, we are still unsure if we would want to come back. Our rating for now is a 2/5. read more
