Overall, I'd rate this location a 2/5. The ambience and unique dining cannot and does not out wait bad service I visited Sugar Factory for a birthday celebration, and unfortunately, it was very underwhelming compared to other Sugar Factory locations I've experienced. The biggest issue was the customer service. The staff came across as uninterested, RUDE, dismissive and unmotivated. It felt like taking orders or even serving drinks was a chore rather than their job. That lack of energy really impacted the overall experience. I will say, they do a great job celebrating birthdays. The team is coordinated, upbeat, and really brings excitement with their dancing and presentation, which made the birthday guest feel special. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. There are glass chandeliers, walls that have roses encased in them, fake candy on another wall, and the most beautiful and elegant light up tree!! It's like a restaurant from a fairy tale! Took my daughter and her friend as part of our spring break "stay-cation" adventures. They absolutely loved it!! They got the insane pancakes and they were truly insane - my gosh it must have weighed 10 pounds! Hubby and I got the chicken parm for two - we almost finished the entire thing between us. I recently visited the Sugar Factory in Jacksonville for lunch on two consecutive occasions for lunch. I returned a second time for lunch because the first experience went so well, and there was so much on the new menu, I wanted to give it a try again. On the first visit, there were two of us and we tried the Nashville hot platter (an appetizer) and a couple of their new mixed drinks. The menus we'd been given we knew that day, and had just started with new options and new drinks. We tried the drink called pretty and pink, and one called Bubba Bubba gum. Both were amazing! The Nashville hot platter was enough for two people on a lunch break. We were going to order chicken Parmesan for two, but it's a good thing we didn't since that would've fed about eight people. The second day we were craving the pasta still, so we returned. We ordered the pink lady drink and an Oreo cookie dream drink. Again, both were fantastic. The chicken Parmesan for two was enough food to feed four people in one sitting. It was amazing! As far as staff, they were all incredible. We were the only two in there the first day for lunch and only among a handful the second day so we were able to get pretty personal service. Both days is the Wait staff were entertaining and enjoyed our company. They definitely seemed to enjoy their job and entertaining people there to enjoy a meal in the atmosphere. When our sons' food did finally arrive, it was completely wrong. And while we tried to be patient, we were quite literally ignored for an hour. Attempting to find a manager? Useless--he had apparently "left" mid-shift. As if things couldn't get worse, when we asked for to-go boxes, they gave us paper plates and aluminum foil because they were out of actual containers. We opted to sit at the bar & our bartender was awesome. Very personal & engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. My blood orange margarita was good, but DEF not worth $19. The price list for drinks here is insane, up to $40 for a drink (which can be shared but doesnt have to be). Also the menu is GIGANTIC and overwhelming. Like nothing stands out as their specialty, it's just quantity over quality. We didnt get food, but again the menu was so overwhelming how could anything be appealing? Seems like it would be all cisco products, not fresh or local ingredients. This whole experience just solidifies that I'm much more into craft cocktails, local food, and talented chefs, not chain restaurants. Yelp has some negative connotation reviews of this restaurant. I feel that reviews are based on your own personal experiences and where you have lived and what you are used to. Having said that the prices at this restaurant are more expensive. You can pay $25 for a signature cocktail. Or $85 for a specialty dessert that feeds 3 to 6. But these items are just that, specialty! They are beautiful, and they are creative! There is even a 24 carat burger specialty meal that you can buy at a minuscule price of $150. This is a burger experience, unlike no other! IMO the prices did not bother me. The background music was also nice and upbeat. Located in the St. John's Town Center, there is parking all around the restaurant. The restaurant is large and can hold large groups and has two beautiful patio areas - one on each side of the building - for alfresco dining. There are booths and tables to sit at and don't forget the beautiful large bar area in the back. Huge screen monitors provide video entertainment and an actual candy store is located inside. The interior is exquisitely beautiful sophisticated, trendy, and clean. The restaurant of course is less busy during the week if you want to go for a quieter time because on the weekends, it is hustling! Monday through Thursday, less crowded. Friday, Saturday, Sunday busy busy busy and you will need a reservation to get in. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess who informed us that they were getting ready to shut down table service so our "best bet" was to sit at the bar with a party of our size "2" because it was still full service. It was raining and I forgot my phone in the car so I went back out to get it while my friend waited inside. When I came back in we walked to the bar and easily found 2 seats (it was fairly empty) and the music was very low. Not what we were expecting at all. So we finally got a chance to try this place. As a national chain, it didn't surprise me with many of the decor items, and the patmosphere was typical. Even though we had reservations, we still had a bit of a wait. After being seated, both my wife and kids said that the music was pretty loud. When the food finally arrived after 20 more minutes, all dishes were served except for my wife's since she had the substitute for the shrimp dinner. That didn't make her happy as it was the same as my order. As we began eating, I noticed that the food was pretty salty for my taste, and the steak was chewy. Once my wife got her bowl, she agreed and was disappointed since she had her heart on the shrimp. The girls each felt their meals were okay, but not great. My wife decided to order a drink to help wash her pallet. She got the margarita on the rocks. She felt the drink was pretty good, considering. We were also told they were out of ducks (which is half the reason people come here for drinks). The food? Total disaster. Everything came out at different times. One person in our party got fajitas with raw tortillas. Another ordered chicken Alfredo--the chicken was rubbery and tough. On top of that, while we were still eating, the staff started mopping the floor around our table. The smell of harsh cleaning chemicals completely ruined the entire meal. It's one of those places you go for the vibe but not for the food. I'd come back for dessert or a fancy drink but not for dinner. I got the big cheesy burger and the Mac topping was cold and the bun felt like it had been in the fridge. Once I took the bun off it did have nice flavor. The fries were good and flavored nicely. Our server was ok but for how empty it was when we got there it was slow. The menu has the tiniest font and the printing makes it blurry and a bit hard to read. Overall it's meh. read more

My partner and I decided to stop by after some shopping in town center. But unfortunately it was the worst experience ever! Don't get me wrong the drinks were great! Not amazing, but the serves, manager, and cook was unprofessional! I ordered a burger and as I was asked "How would you like it cooked" I said "medium rare" got my burger over cooked, asked the waiter to send it back. The response from the server (2) of them came back with "oh they won't make another one because the cook and manager said it will come out the same! On top of that the manager didn't come out to introduce himself of the issue, if he did I would of lost my marbles on how the service was! Go elsewhere for your moneys worth. read more
