While there is a large selection and my wife enjoyed the store. This review is less about the store but the uncomfortable "joke" made by a woman who worked at the store. My two year old girl was about to go behind the register and the lady said something akin to "Want to put her for work? We can tie her upside down by her little toes?" She didn't say it in a rude tone, but what the.... I get it. Your into crystals and magic. You may even believe yourself to be a witch, but my two year daughter is not a sacrificial lamb or something to hanged by her toes. I just awkwardly smiled and walked out the store. read more

After buying crystals online for over a year, we finally decided it was time to explore a local shop--and I'm so glad we did. My husband is legally blind, so being able to feel the crystals in person really mattered to him. It was a busy, beautiful day, and we thought parking might be a challenge, but then--like magic--a spot opened up right in front of the store just as we pulled up. It felt like the universe was already working in our favor. The moment we stepped inside, it was like entering another world--peaceful, vibrant, and full of treasures from around the globe. To the left was a stunning section overflowing with crystals, and I couldn't believe the variety! We took our time browsing each display, and I named every stone as we came across it. When I spotted a few I knew my husband would love, I gently placed them in his hands one by one--and watching his face light up with joy was the highlight of my day. A lovely store associate came over to check on us. She introduced herself, had the sweetest smile, and was dressed in the most beautiful way--she truly added to the store's magical atmosphere. We ended up finding a huge labradorite, an even bigger amethyst, and two gorgeous onyx bracelets that fit like they were made just for us. Their prices were quite fair and everything was of the highest quality! Checkout was smooth and friendly, and we got our bracelets cleansed with a beautifully scented spray that smelled like serenity in a bottle. Each of our stones was wrapped with such care into embroidered pouches that felt like little gifts themselves--such a thoughtful touch! We left feeling completely enchanted, already talking about when we'll be back. We even plan to make a full day of it next time, especially since there's a pizza place right next door! Five Points has this artsy, edgy vibe that we absolutely loved. A great store in Five Points! We were waiting for seating at Hawkers and decided to stroll along the plaza to look for a greeting card. We walked into one store and asked if they had any cards and they happily directed us to Midnight Sun. Located at the end of the street plaza, this store is a treasure trove. If you're into crystals and handmade jewelry, this store is for you! We walked in and found the cards right away, which was such a relief! We also walked around and got distracted by all the bracelets and had to walk out with a couple. The store is super cute and the staff was so friendly. What a fascinating shop! We stopped by while on a casual walk through Riverside's Five point area. The variety of stones captivated us. Then I saw the jewelry..... Alex helped me pick out the perfect pendant for my daughter-in-law. He was so helpful and patient as I went through every case. We also picked up some loose leaf tea blends and some incense. You can most definitely find an abundance of incense here. The smell of it burning is the first thing you'll notice when you walk in the store! Even this store leans more towards the "hippie/earthy" kind of people (which is totally not me), it's still really hard for me to walk in this store and not find at least one thing I want. There are items that are really reasonably priced and there are also items that cost a real pretty penny. This is really just a shop you have to come to and experience. It's absolutely impossible to name everything they have here. Just think unique eclectic earthy hippie and come take a look around. :D It is located in 5 Points, so you'll need to find street parking. I been in many types of shops like this one and to say far best of all I been to. Im into the stuff they sell at that store and in fact I left there spending a lot of money. A hunt for a specific incense brought me to Midnight Sun. While they didn't carry the fragrance I was looking for, they have a huge selection of various brands and types. The rest of the store is a well-stocked haven of all things bohemian, metaphysical, and spiritual. You can vibe to Erykah Badu while perusing the aisles of selected treasures from all over the world, including tapestries, bags, leather and handcarved wooden goods. Into crystals? Their selection is extensive. I'm not even into them but many were beautiful and I'm a sucker for shiny, sparkly objects. I enjoyed strolling through Midnight Sun and who knows? I've been coming here for close to 20 years or more and love this store so much. It smells wonderful and is full of bright colors and I always leave happy, even if I don't buy anything. It's gypsy/So-ho/Bohemian/Hippy/Far Eastern wonderfulness all in a tiny 5 Point shop. They have incense, perfumes, soaps, jewelry, clothing, purses, furniture, wall hangings, and more knicknacks than you could stuff a 1000 caravans with. The people who work here are friendly and rather patient with browsers, thankfully, because it's easy to just walk around all dreamy eyed... There are a few downsides, but not enough to lose a star in my opinion. The clothing does tend to run on the small side, if you see something you CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT you better buy it because there's no guarantee it will be there tomorrow, and it does tend to be a bit cluttered so don't be surprised if you constantly bump into and knock over things if you are a wee bit clumsy (like me). read more

I grew up going to this store in my teens. I took my two kids here to look around. Once I opened the door I was blasted with the smell of incense. It was very intense. We tried to walk around but my son just kept coughing so we left didn't want his asthma to act up. Other than that what we saw looked beautiful and I was ready to buy. So FYI if you have any breathing issues know that the incense smoke and smell is very intense and could trigger some respiratory reactions like it did with my son. read more

I purchased a set of lightweight wood earrings a couple years ago. My latest visit had me leaving with some cute bangles (6 for $5) and a pretty hand carved wood statue of a couple kissing made in Bali. They also have some phallic carvings that a couple teenagers enjoyed giggling about and taking pictures. There is a large section of jewelry, including a bunch of rings. ive bought jewelry and many things here in the past, but my recent experience wasn't pleasant. after spending MORE than enough in their store, my jewelry started to tarnish and change colors. When I tried to return them just a day or two later, I got the run-around about how I need to clean it. I own silver and gold jewelry and it does NOT tarnish. I also waited nearly 20-30 mins for someone to open a chest for me to see their products, and when they did the girl couldn't be bothered to spend any time answering my questions.
