When we worked near the store, we would even go on break to get some goodies. However, I like coming by myself on the weekends and browsing the isles. There is always something new to find and to take home and cook. I like their selection of frozen meats as well as pastries and appetizer items. They have good dairy items too. There are plenty of shelf stable items like candy, jellies, jams, jarred items and condiments. They do have fresh bread brought in and it is always great. I have found some cool ice creams in the freezer. There is always something new to pique my interest. The staff are always lovely. I would highly recommend a stop in.

It would be very easy to pass by, but if you are to do so, it would certainly be your loss. Amar European Grocery Store is an amazing little grocery store. They have a lot of what you won't find in a supermarket like Publix, Walmart Neighborhood Market or Winn-Dixie (not even in their international food aisle), some true European specialty items. I grabbed quite a few of their hot paprika paste. If you never had it, I definitely would recommend that you try some. I made a potato paprika soup with it and it was wonderful. They also had an interesting selection of sausage. The service here is also amazing. I mean, really amazing. The team here is extremely friendly, polite, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars.

You can dine in or have it to-go. I love this store. The man who runs the place was very helpful and kind. Pros:the restaurant and also the wide array of choices of everything Asian. Cons:none Recommend? YES, no lines, no waiting!

It was right under my nose. It is adjacent to the sandwich shop on Beach Blvd. I frequent weekly. The store is larger than expected. I craved crystal tea and I knew the brand name which is Prince of Peace. Just a side bar, please know what you are looking in an Asian store. Everything was nicely stocked and appealing but I could not tell A from Z. I finally asked the manager or the cashier where to find crystal teas. There was not a big selection. Hell, there was only one selection. I grabbed my ginger honey Crystal tea to go. In the package, there are 10 sachets for just under $3! What a bargain! I proceeded to the register and asked if there were other selections. She was curt and to the point, "whatever we have there." She was pleasant but not to the point of being rude. I got my tea. Will I give up coffee? Maybe for a week or two or until I get a coffee headache . To me, this is one of the few Asian stores for my crystal tea. I am sure crystal tea can be brought on line but I am an old school kinda guy who likes going up and down the aisle to literally.

I finally visited for the first (and not the last) time recently for a private tasting event with fellow folks from the Junior League. The two women working -- including Jennifer, the owner -- were easy to talk with and super informative about the four cheeses they served us, which ranged from a Brie to a Comte. I love cheese. I love expensive, funky cheese, and I also love cheap, mild cheese (and everything in between). But I know enough about cheese -- well, I've eaten enough cheese, at least -- to tell these were excellent cheeses provided by someone who really wants locals to enjoy them. The shop itself is lovely, carrying not just cheeses but some meats and plenty of other selections you may want for a charcuterie board (or your own midnight snack)...spreads, honeys, crackers, and more. They also have some French butters, ready-to-beat baguettes, and even some homewares like beautiful wooden service items, mini fondue pots, and cheese slicers. This would be an excellent place to stop in for a housewarming gift, even if you're not looking to gift something edible. But also, consider gifting something edible. Who doesn't want good cheese? And I haven't taken advantage of it yet, but I will soon: the shop offers trays and boards ranging from "snack for 2" to "large party" if you give them notice. Also, "snack for 2" might become my new go-to lunch.

The owner greeted us warmly and gave excellent cheese recommendations based on what we like and what we've tried before. She even offered to save our order under our phone number so we could easily remember it next time (or not have to remember at all!). The shop has more than just cheese, too: there are jams, pickles, and other fun specialty items. It's such a cute spot, and I can't wait to go back.
