Sauerkraut with green mold on top. The smell was disgusting !

I placed an order a short time ago. I finished two bags. Opened a new one today. It had green mold on it. They tried to tell me it was okay, normal, fine to eat. Hell no. It stunk as well. So gross. I was eating Wildbrine regularly. Could only get a few flavors at Sprouts. I use to order online. I loved the ginger arame however they no longer sell at all on line. So sad. I have attached a photo of the so called fine to eat sauerkraut. YUCK !

I find them at RAM and I finally got there early enough for their dill and garlic pickles! I had hit them up 2x in the past and they were out by the time I made it to them, so this time, I went straight to them and carry around my quart in my purse! They even bagged up the container and loaded it full of both kids! I split my container between the 2 flavors- yes, you can do that! I was thoroughly impressed with how many pickles the pack into that pouch! Well- container- but I couldn't resist. P. My kids are addicted to pickles too- and my son and I opened up that container this week and man- that garlic was fierce! We had garlic breath for the rest of the day- but it was so good! Eddie has already put a hit on my purchase, oh darn- guess I have to hit up RAM again to get my pickles on again! I need to grab some olives next time too!

When we worked near the store, we would even go on break to get some goodies. However, I like coming by myself on the weekends and browsing the isles. There is always something new to find and to take home and cook. I like their selection of frozen meats as well as pastries and appetizer items. They have good dairy items too. There are plenty of shelf stable items like candy, jellies, jams, jarred items and condiments. They do have fresh bread brought in and it is always great. I have found some cool ice creams in the freezer. There is always something new to pique my interest. The staff are always lovely. I would highly recommend a stop in.

It would be very easy to pass by, but if you are to do so, it would certainly be your loss. Amar European Grocery Store is an amazing little grocery store. They have a lot of what you won't find in a supermarket like Publix, Walmart Neighborhood Market or Winn-Dixie (not even in their international food aisle), some true European specialty items. I grabbed quite a few of their hot paprika paste. If you never had it, I definitely would recommend that you try some. I made a potato paprika soup with it and it was wonderful. They also had an interesting selection of sausage. The service here is also amazing. I mean, really amazing. The team here is extremely friendly, polite, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars.

It was right under my nose. It is adjacent to the sandwich shop on Beach Blvd. I frequent weekly. The store is larger than expected. I craved crystal tea and I knew the brand name which is Prince of Peace. Just a side bar, please know what you are looking in an Asian store. Everything was nicely stocked and appealing but I could not tell A from Z. I finally asked the manager or the cashier where to find crystal teas. There was not a big selection. Hell, there was only one selection. I grabbed my ginger honey Crystal tea to go. In the package, there are 10 sachets for just under $3! What a bargain! I proceeded to the register and asked if there were other selections. She was curt and to the point, "whatever we have there." She was pleasant but not to the point of being rude. I got my tea. Will I give up coffee? Maybe for a week or two or until I get a coffee headache . To me, this is one of the few Asian stores for my crystal tea. I am sure crystal tea can be brought on line but I am an old school kinda guy who likes going up and down the aisle to literally.

Gordon's is similar but weaker by my opinion in some regards. However, it does have strengths which make it worth a visit. For non-restaurant folks, the biggest draw likely will be the frozen food section which includes a vast variety of frozen seafood and meat to cook and also ready-prepared dishes ranging from mashed taters to whole cakes. Remember, this is restaurant supply, so whole cakes and cheesecakes (which when sliced likely are passed off at many a restaurant as "our chef's own creation" by drizzling some caramel sauce across them). For those who don't know, cheesecakes especially freeze *just fine* and thaw out *just fine* and a frozen one of quality can be just as good as a made-from-scratch one. There were frozen dishes like stuffed bell peppers which interested me but again, restaurant portions so I didn't need like a flat of 20 stuffed peppers and didn't buy them. If I had a half-empty chest freezer and less restraint however I'd easily have scooped up all kinds of stuff like this. Some items are name brands, some their own Gordon brand, some brands I'd not heard of but may be big in food service--I don't know. Beyond the frozen goods, they have things like large quanities of BBQ sauce, tomato paste, and pasta--again, aimed at restaurants. They also have a lot of Monin coffee syrups which is very cool though their prices are a few dollars more than TJ Maxx but the catch is, you never know which Monin syrups any given TJ Maxx will have any given day but here their stock seems stable. While they have all manner of disposable catering goods (foil trays, plastic to-go boxes) they don't have much if any durable table service like restaurant glasses and cups. Nor any kitchen knives it seems. The store in Charleston I mentioned had a great selection of these things so that was disappointing. Service was fine. I didn't need help, my friend has shopped here before and guided me around. The lady at check-out was friendly enough. I'd recommend visiting Gordon's and seeing what they have: look carefully, *a lot* is packed in there, especially the frozen section. If you have a large family and a chest freezer (or two or three) you probably can play your cards right and really save money here.

Our new favorite…read more Coming from a larger international city with a huge selection of asian mega-grocery stores, we've been pretty disappointed by the options in this area. We've tried a couple of the local shops over the years and were mostly turned off. But recently, when we got a hankering for some homemade curries, marinades, stir fries, and such, we went on the hunt for something better and finally stumbled on Dinosaur. They aren't really "supermarket" huge, but far larger then the shops we've tried in the area. Plenty of shelf staples from a variety of cuisines, at decent prices. And a good selection of meats and produce that you won't find in the Winn-Dixies, Publixes, or Whole Foods in the area, and you can't simply order shipped from Amazon. As a "foody tourist" in a shop like this, I'm not entirely self sufficient. I can tell my galangal from my ginger, and my choy sum from my bok choy, but I still get lost trying to find or identify some things. The shopkeeper there keeps busy managing her store, and I don't expect her to play "tour guide," but she does try to be helpful and work past the language barrier when I come up with questions. The place is clean and pretty well organized considering the wide variety of foods and countries that are represented. A gold mine of exotic foods we can't find anywhere else.

I really am impressed with not only this European grocer, but the multiple European grocers located in Jacksonville, Florida. They have a strong emphasis on products from eastern Europe and offer a great variety of items that you will not find at your local Winn-Dixie, Publix, Walmart or other supermarkets.
