You're forcibly removing hair from a pretty sensitive region of your body. But is it as painful as waxing? Girl (or boy, or boo), not for me. And between the distraction of pleasant conversation with Monica or Lucia and their quick work, I'm usually out of that sweet piece with some sweet peace in a good amount of time. Their little studio is outfitted in adorable decor and features about four other solo studios and shops that all fit together in what looks like a small business plaza on Ygnacio Valley Road. I came here for brow and lip shading. Her studio is cute very chic with a pink aesthetic. She had…read moreme lie down and applied numbing cream before starting. However, one thing I noticed was that she didn't wash or sanitize her hands first. She immediately put on gloves, checked my brows, and proceeded with the numbing cream. At the beginning the pain was tolerable but after about 30 minutes, I started feeling it more. I didn't say much at first because I could still handle it. However, the entire brow process took around 3 hours, and during that time I kept telling her it was very painful. I had asked her beforehand if the procedure was painless, and she said yes because she uses numbing cream but honestly, it didn't help much. I've been to three other artists before and was even able to sleep during my appointments. With her, I couldn't relax at all. After that, she started on my lips, which was even more painful and took another two hours. It hurt even more than my brows. At one point she said, "no pain, no gain." By then, I was exhausted and just wanted it to be over. She had to reapply numbing cream about five times. My lips became so numb afterward that it almost felt like I had lip filler because I couldn't feel anything at all. Overall, I'll give her credit because my brows turned out okay, but the experience itself was very difficult. I felt like she didn't really listen to my concerns and just continued doing things her way
