Alright y'all, we've come to this concept in phases, and now The Sugaring Lounge has introduced me to a sweet, lovely concept... Sugaring for my Brazilian! First I meandered through the lawless wilderness of soft wax, and then hard wax, and now I have arrived in the Promised Land: sugaring. Is it painless? Of course not. You're forcibly removing hair from a pretty sensitive region of your body. But is it as painful as waxing? Girl (or boy, or boo), not for me. And between the distraction of pleasant conversation with Monica or Lucia and their quick work, I'm usually out of that sweet piece with some sweet peace in a good amount of time. Their little studio is outfitted in adorable decor and features about four other solo studios and shops that all fit together in what looks like a small business plaza on Ygnacio Valley Road. Their place is cleanly, cute, and cozy. I always enjoy going because it's never bustling or busy, so you can relax and get in and out on your own time. I purchased a Groupon so I could try Sugar Waxing.. Lets just say I have mixed feelings about it.. But let me tell you about Andrea. Top Notch Service, Made me Feel Comfortable and made the process way more pleasant and tolerable than I have ever experienced. I really appreciated the conversation and her Waxing Style.. I purchased a Groupon for three sugaring or Brazilian waxes last night. I viewed the website in an attempt to make an appointment. The website looks beautiful and professional. While browsing the site I noticed they had several options for waxing such as "basic" "extended" etc. Not fully understanding what was included in the services I purchased, I opted to wait until today to give them a call. It's customary to call an facility providing services when purchased from Groupons as there are usually limitations on when, what and who can provide the service. With hopes of successfully booking my wax, I reached out via phone so that I may get insight on the services included and determine if they would meet my needs before booking the appointment. Questions are normal and as a customer I look for merchants availability, their willingness to answer questions this also helps to establish familiarity for such a personal service. The first time I called the phone rang and the person hung up immediately. Naturally I assumed it was an accident so I called back. When the phone went to voicemail the first two times I decided to see if they had an Instagram page. To my surprise the IG page does exist but only has about 6 posts on it. Not having photos online for your IG page tends to be a red flag for me because it doesn't allow me to gather the type of environment and clientele they service. After attempting to call once more, I decided to read the YELP reviews!! Honestly I should've started here to begin with. I try to avoid reading reviews so that I may have a true genuine experience before forming and sharing my own review without any outside influence. However, after reading the reviews and seeing how many ppl have had similar experiences, I immediately canceled my Groupon and will look elsewhere. When providing a service there has to be EXCELLENT customer service skills. I look for individuals who are friendly, reliable, great communicators and reachable. I have called 7 times after I was hung up on, as a "new customer" not being able to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT or ASK QUESTIONS about my service is the biggest RED FLAG for me. So based off of my experience or lack thereof I can not confidently recommend this business. read more

This was my first experience sugaring as opposed to traditional waxing and to my surprise there was still patches. Very sloppy job. Also.... I get the vibe that this woman likes her Groupon customers... so I'm not sure why she uses it. She gets two stars because she was friendly for the most part. Lucia is the best!!! The 1st time was not what I expected and definitely hurt (I can tolerate a moderate level of pain and wax regularly) - but when I went I was SUPER hairy, almost 6 months pregnant and that may have added to the sensitivity to pain. Yet, the 2nd time (6 weeks later) was a breeze!! I definitely recommend Lucia and sugaring! She is knowledgeable and confident and although I sweated through that first session - she didn't even mind and really kept the conversation going as to focus on something else. The worst experience ever! First of all, she's unresponsive so getting an appointment was difficult. After two days she responded to me. I texted her to confirm the appointment and she said "yes confirmed". I show up to the appointment and she DIDNT SHOW UP. I texted her and no response. I called her and I noticed my texts and calls weren't going through anymore. She blocked my number, I guess out of embarrassment for the no show? I don't get it. I wasn't rude to her, I gave her lots of chances. I wouldn't waste your time or money. So upset. read more

Went in to Lucia after my regular location closed up shop. As usual, the sugaring technique is the best I've experienced for my Brazilians. She was able to book me a same day appointment (mid week at about 2 pm). She is located in Walnut Creek by all the shops so parking can be hard to come by depending on the time of day. It is metered parking. Lucia was pleasant and I had no complaints of her nor her service. She will be my go to, even with the 20 mile distance from home. read more

Really disappointed. I purchased a Groupon and got no response. I dropped by and Lucia/Lucy scheduled me for the next week.... I went in and the ground was dirty in the room. She offered me a baby wipe at the end of my service only to realize she was out and said "sorry" then left the room.. I got dressed, came out and tipped her $20... She was honestly surprised that I tipped... I was like why is she so surprised.... well... I went home and realized there were patches of hair still left. No wonder she was surprised I tipped. I been in twice. I've had the sugaring both times. I love it. It seemed to leave a much more cleaner job than wax. Lucia is very friendly and knows that she's doing. The first time I was a big baby since I had gone a long time without waxing but she kept trying to make me feel comfortable. I'll be going back before my vacay soon! read more

Lucia does a wonderful job! I didn't know about sugaring until I found her and I have to say that I prefer sugaring over waxing. Hair doesn't grow back as fast and I get less bumps and pimples after. In addition, Lucia is very detailed and personable. I totally recommend the Sugaring Lounge. read more

Love this place! Lucia has been sugaring me for the past couple of months and I love my results. Very smooth after she is finished.
