I've been coming here to do my laundry for several years, but what a disappointment--lately these machines feel like a scam. I understand that prices have gone up because everything is extremely expensive nowadays, and that part I can accept. But what I find truly unfair is that they've reduced the wash time, there's very little water, and on top of that, the small machines don't even have hot water. Suds is a very clean, open and spacious laundromat with laundry services. (Rosa is courteous, helpful and expert) They now, under a new owner have huge machines, up to 8 loads, I think. So the prices are higher. It is half glass, so it's beautifully lit. They have the doors open when it's warm enough so fresh air circulates across the room, and it's fresh! The only problem, hence the 4 stars is the new owner removed the snack and drink machines so you have to bring it with you or buy it from the local business--expensive by comparison. I have heard that this owner plans to bring these machines back. It would be nice. read more

This is the only place I do laundry -- hands down. Sudz in Costa Mesa has top-tier German stainless steel machines that get the job done 100%. Whether it's a huge load (big comforter? No problemo) or just a few things, the extra-large washers and dryers handle it effortlessly. The staff is amazing -- the ladies who work here are friendly and feel more like friends now. I usually grab a Cactus Cooler, kick my feet up, and either surf the web or watch the TVs they have on. I don't go here regularly but when my machine breaks down or I need to wash a big comforter this is where I go. They have clean machines and have replaced some older inefficient ones. Their on duty employee is always helpful when needed and they keep everything very clean which is hard to do with a lot of traffic in and out. read more

If you're visiting the Newport Beach area, Sudz is conveniently located near by and is an affordable (about $8 for a large load to wash and dry) and clean laundry mat to use if you do not have on-site laundry at your hotel. I've been here twice and so far so good. I have laundry facilities in my apartment complex but they use little to no water so I come here instead. My wife and I have been going to Sudz off and on for years. We recently moved back nearby it and once again starting doing our laundry there. It's clean, we'll maintained, the staff is friendly, and the card system for paying is easy to use. Maybe a bit TOO easy. BUT, yesterday I was in the midst of drying multiple loads and left my card in one dryer. Going back to check on my clothes I saw that I had inadvertently left the card in the machine and 97 minutes had been charged! I thought you had to remove and re-swipe to add time, but no. I said something to myself outloud and a fellow customer said she had done the same before and they refunded her some of the money. So, I asked the gentleman in the office and he said, "It wasn't the machines fault, it was yours for leaving the card. I can't refund anything". We'll, I informed the other customer she could use my balance, folded my clothes and went home. Yes, my bad for forgetting the card, but there seems to be some selective customer service going on. The worker here was very nice and helpful! But my low rating is due to the facility and the costs. I paid nearly $10 for just a jumbo wash (6 loads) no drying! The card system makes no sense. You have to pay $3 just to get the card and then you load money... also the jumbo wash is too small. It barely fit my one fluffy comforter. I don't have much experience for laundry mats but I was eagerly helped by an attendant. You can use a credit card but it is used by filling up a card--that costs 3 dollars as of 2023 March--and the minimum spend is 10 bucks to fill the card for a total of 13, and all I really wanted to do was dry my clothes haha. Lots of cards, lots of space to fold clothes and parking is free. It's right off the 55 freeway and the dryer was good enough to drain spin and dry my clothes considering how drenched they were. I just really wish it wasn't so pricy--every 15 minutes was a dollar charge from my card read more

A laundry mat that is Clean, efficient and conveniently located. Wow!!!! It is located in a nice shopping center to keep you busy while your clothes wash. Downside is it does require buying a $3.00 laundry card but since I've been to some crappy laundry mats .. I will happily do it. They had staff with a helpful mask smile and was always waiting to help anyone at all times. The attendant was near bu and constantly present. The floors were kept swept and there was no trash everywhere and the laundry machines were 98% functioning and if not... a nice friendly note letting you know why. They have 2 large tv's on and a nice breeze inside. The doors were maintained open as well as fans inside. The machines are affordable and quick. It does get busy at peak times on peak days but that's normal. And the worst of it is they close pretty early 7pm is the last wash :/ read more

Was nice and easy to wash my clothing at, always enough space and machines an available. However there was a man, I think his name started with an A and he was shorter w dark brown hair who worked there who would follow me around. He'd stare at me over machines regardless of how packed or empty it was, and orient himself 10ish feet away at all times just watching me. He also would come ask me questions that were personal and when he realized I walked to the laundromat he would watch me cross the street back to my apartment. He also would touch my laundry and always be stalking me and asking about me when I would return for my finished laundry. He made me uncomfortable but I didn't feel able to say anything until I moved which now I have. Just beware that the man is very creepy and would ask invasive and personal questions as well as be constantly stalking young women; asking me repeatedly to come in more while he was working. The service here was friendly and trustworthy. I had some issue with the machine taking my $20 and not giving me credit. The guy working was really cool about it and gave me my $20 back. I met the owner today. I drove all the way from Corona del Mar because my dryer busted today and I needed to dry my clothes. WOW. She is one rude and obnoxious lady. I drove all the way over to this place because I remember the ladies who did fluff n fold to be nice. I feel sorry for them. I hope she goes out of business. I did meet the owner of the laundromat across the street and he was incredibly nice and cordial. HUGE difference. Not only is the owner rude and obnoxious she is a liar. I never once refused to wear a mask. How anyone would continue to do business with someone as unethical as this owner is beyond me; I guess they only would if they did not know this information. If you're a college student trying to get laundry and homework done avoid. "After covid we just stopped" They promote free wifi - they do not have. If you sign in you'll see a bunch of networks. You're better off going across the street. Prices are a little excessive for on a budget washes XL wash - $6 L wash - $4 M wash - $3 S wash - $2 Top load wash (small) - $2.50 L dryer - $0.75/ 15 minutes S dryer - $0.50/ 15 minutes To get a laundry card it costs $3 and the machine will you that those $3 will go into balance. You'll check balance and there will be a zero balance. They do sell everything you need but I recommend bringing your own. There are also vending machines. Pro was that I came on a Saturday morning and the place was empty so and almost every machine was empty. ------ Edit: 3 starts to 4. Manager came up to me to apologize after 25 minutes. It seems as though the manager is used to losing customers from lack of wifi since they do heavily promote it. He seems 'surprised' it was still advertised. Was very helpful with getting me my money back from card and said there was a $2 additional back for refunds. He took the time to explain to the new customers how card system works and informed them them that you will get a refund of money that's unused on the card, in addition to a $2 refund from the card purchase (The card cost $3). I usually do laundry here every Monday and usually people are cool... but today one of the ladies that works there was having a bad day and let it out on me.. she said I was bothering her and interrupting her work because I asked to use the restroom too much.. I asked twice... I apologize for having a small bladder. I will keep returning to this establishment just because I like the environment there... overall cool place but just make sure to use the restroom before you go there.. that lady will explode on you... her exact words were "did you come here to wash, or use the restroom " (in Spanish) first time having a bad experience here unfortunately... This place is AMAZING! I took 62 lbs. of laundry to have laundered and this place did the best job of any place I have EVER taken my laundry to. Everything was perfectly folded to perfection and clothes were hung and also wrapped in bags very neatly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an excellent fluff and fold location. I was trying to find a laundromat to do my annual spring cleaning wash. Since I am new to the area, I searched through Yelp and saw the recommendations were pretty good at this location. The area is okay, but amazingly the laundromat is clean and well kept. There is always someone available to help you if you have any questions on how to operate the machines and services. It's very well maintained and clean. The location is great and close to restaurants & shopping. The bad part- You have to buy a laundry card that ends up costing 1.00 AFTER a refund, which is not a big deal but the least amount you can put on it is 10.00. So if you only need to add a little to your dryer time, it's very inconvenience. Supposedly you can get a refund for that too but, you have to ask for it. He helped me through all the steps of getting a laundry card and even helped me figure out the machines! We had some great chats while I waited for my laundry to finish. This is a clean laundry mat which is what has kept me a loyal customer. It is expensive. They require purchase of a card. They are very strict about the last load in by 7:00pm rule. Do not arrive at 7:05 and think you will be starting your laundry. You will be approached by the staff who tell you they are closed. Recently they have closed the bathroom to customers. See the attached picture. So the business is safe to operate as long as you close the bathroom to your paying customers? It makes no sense. Am I really reviewing a laundromat? Yes. Yes, I am. I mean, after all, I DO believe in cleanliness and when I recently traded up my four wall studio for a one bedroom dwelling in a much more intimate environ, I lost the attached laundry facility and now find myself having to cart stuff across the way and down the block. Gladly, might I add. (I really love my new place.) I've been to a couple different laundromats in the neighborhood and Sudz is by far the easiest because as already stated - coins need not apply. This results in a huge sigh of relief as, in the past, I've had a bad habit of letting the dirty clothes accumulate into a small mountain due to a "minor" shopping habit that keeps my closet and dressers (yes, plural) full of options for at least a season (or three). I was once THAT GIRL with 15 loads of laundry... pockets dragging on the vinyl floor, spilling over with shiny silver coins. Never again! Really, I've always hated that need to "save quarters for laundry day" and now my quarters better serve me in my piggy bank since the machines at Sudz use a rechargeable card. Yippee. read more

I'm not sure where I got the idea that my comforter would fit in my washer... and this is how I arrived at Sudz. After passing the requirement that is having hours to accommodate my long hours for a drop off/pick up I handed over my comforter to these guys. They were also able to give me a same-day turnaround time, which was perfect. Signs at the door clued me in that this might not always be available (and of the 1.50/# launder rate, very tempting), but for my first-time visit, it was nice! The staff were friendly and helpful. $18 seems entirely reasonable for the service, but should I ever find myself with more time on my hands (or less and want to go for a triple load), this laundromat looks like a nice place to hang out and watch my socks spin.
