Overall, Lucy's Laundromat is a solid spot to get laundry done, and I'd definitely come back. It's convenient, has a good selection of machines, and I can see why it gets so busy. That being said, I came on a packed Sunday morning and quite a few of the machines were out of service, which made things difficult with the amount of people there. The space also feels pretty tight when it's this busy, and I didn't see anyone actively cleaning or keeping up with the facility despite the heavy traffic. One thing I did want to mention: one of the largest machines directly in front of the entrance had a very strong urine smell when I opened it. Obviously, I understand something like that could be completely outside of the laundromat's control and could have been caused by a customer, but I figured it was worth mentioning so management is aware and can hopefully have it checked and sanitized. I also understand Sunday morning is probably one of their busiest times, so I can give them some grace. If more of the machines were consistently working and there was a little more attention to cleaning during peak hours, this could easily be a 5-star spot. This was my first visit. I put $13 into payment machine and received a laundry card. After loading the money, I learned that customers cannot start a wash after 10 p.m. I later noticed that a sign concerning the cutoff time was posted on the machine, but the money had already been loaded onto the card. Since I could no longer use the laundry service that evening, I immediately requested the return of my unused money. The employee clearly refused to refund either the card balance or the card deposit. This is the same problem described by other customers. Customers must place money onto a store specific card, and any unused amount is then trapped as store credit. For someone visiting for a single load or an emergency laundry run, the customer must either return and spend more money here or lose access to the remaining balance. The owner's public response to another review is misleading and directly conflicts with the policy posted inside the store. The owner claimed that the $1 deposit is fully refundable after the laundry card is registered. However, the posted policy states otherwise. The employee's refusal was consistent with the posted policy and contrary to the owner's public statement. This policy also appears to conflict with California Civil Code section 1749.5(b)(2) effective April 1st 2026, which requires a qualifying reloadable certificate with a cash value of less than $15 to be redeemable in cash. This business uses a stored value card that can be used only at this business, yet its posted policy claims that laundry cards can never be redeemed for cash. Customers who encounter the same issue can file complaints with the California Attorney General's Office, the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, or the consumer protection division of the local District Attorney's Office. I will retain the card, payment records, photographs of the posted policy, and the details of the employee's refusal for those complaints. A business should not trap a customer's money on a store card while publishing contradictory statements about refunds. read more

Lucy's Laundry Modern Laundromat is hands down the cleanest laundromat I've ever been to. Charlie, who works there, was incredibly kind and helpful. I honestly thought he was the owner because of how much care he puts into the place. He took the time to guide me and teach me how to use the machines, which made the whole experience so easy. They also have an amazing variety of machine sizes including 2, 3, 6, and 8 loaders, which is perfect for comforters, bulky bedding, and all the bigger household items you cannot easily wash at home. The laundry machines are full of mold. People seem to clean the outside of the machines, but the inside is neglected, which is the part that actually comes into contact with our clothes. In my opinion, cleaning the inside of the washers should be a much higher priority. It's disappointing to use machines that don't appear to be properly maintained!!! I've been coming here for about 3 to 4 years now, and I never thought I'd say this about a laundromat, but Lucy's Laundry has such good vibes. The place is beautiful, super well-kept, and always really clean. The staff here is amazing, but Charlie especially deserves a huge shoutout. He works so hard to keep the place clean and smelling good, and he's always helping out customers. He has personally helped me plenty of times when my laundry soap compartment got clogged, and he didn't even blink twice when I accidentally spilled my scented beads all over the floor. First of all, the dryers do not dry laundry as well they should, and people were having to put in twice the money, just to dry their clothes enough. People complained, and all they did was walk up to the dryer, feel the glass (very technical) and basically do nothing about it. Our new machine is not being delivered for another week so we needed to find a laundromat. A friend mentioned there was a newer laundromat off of college. I found Lucy's and decided to do my loads there. The building and the machines were nice and clean. There are places to plug-in and do work as well as free Wi-Fi and plenty of seating. I don't know how the prices compare to other places, but the drying is $1.99 for about 25 minutes. I will use this location again for bulky items that need to be laundered. read more

There are always employees in there cleaning and ready to help you. There are rarely broken machines, and when there are, they don't seem to be broken for very long. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere that you feel there that you don't get at other laundromats including seating and workspace, which is really nice because I love to take my laptop and get work done while I'm doing my laundry. They also have a free coffee station, which I think is such a nice touch and great customer service. Keep it up Lucy's laundry. See you soon! read more

This is my first time here. I was in Irvine and I found this laundrymat. Wow once I got here I asked Michaela for help and immediately she told me where the machines , how much it is and guided me every step of the way. Outstanding customer service Michaela! I've never seen a laundry mat with new machines very clean even when it's busy and towards the end of day around 7 pm on a Saturday. I love the couches in the middle of the laundry mat. Very relaxing . There's even plants that makes it comfortable while waiting for laundry to wash and dry! I highly recommend this laundry mat!! read more

It's less of a laundromat and more of a high-stakes escape room where the prize is simply being allowed to wash your socks. A FEW "CHARMING" QUIRKS: * THE MAGIC VANISHING ACT: I paid $39 for a card, and the machine sweetly told me to "collect" it. Silly me, I thought that meant it was ready to use! It turns out the card is as empty as the customer service promises. * THE WALL OF LITERATURE: Unless you plan on spending your afternoon studying the "Wall of Text," which is basically a manifesto on how to navigate their hostile interface, you'll never guess that you have to take the card out of one slot and shove it into another just to find the money you already paid. * THE SILENT TREATMENT: I spent 20 minutes pressing the "Help" button, which is a lovely decorative touch, really, and calling a support line that I'm convinced leads directly to a disconnected payphone in 1994. I ended up paying an extra $25 just to escape with clean clothes, essentially gifting my first $40 to the universe, or the next lucky stranger. I even found a discarded card on the floor, a tragic little souvenir left by the last person who realized they'd been fleeced. It's such a quirky business model, you can't even get your $1 deposit back for the plastic! THE TAKEAWAY: It is truly impressive how a place can look so clean while its system feels so... predatory. If you're looking for a free wash, honestly, just stand near the kiosk and wait for the machine to rob the next unsuspecting visitor. I'm sure they'll leave their card behind in a fit of tears, too! A TINY SUGGESTION FOR MANAGEMENT: Perhaps you could update the screen to say, "Please collect your useless, unloaded card and put it in the next slot so we can finally give you what you paid for." Solid when they first opened but now the washers stink of musty water, most likely from dirty drums that haven't been properly cleaned after people wash dog beds and other things. I LOVE this place. I bring all my comforters, quilts, large blankets here to be laundered and the staff does an amazing job. Speedy turnaround too. Came here initially to just wash some large items and was so impressed how clean and well kept this place is . I've never been a fan of laundromats but having 4 kids our laundry is quite a task ! Started coming here once in awhile to get all our laundry done quickly rather than taking a full day at home . The staff is wonderful , Gavin & Wyatt are usually there when we come late evenings and they are great . Last week was a full moon and there were a couple disruptive people which was a first time for me . Wyatt handled things great and did his best to keep things from getting out of control . Overall a great place to come and get your laundry done , very nice facility , they have complimentary hot drinks and are constantly walking around keeping things in order . My Go to Laundry Mat. What may seem to be a High End fancy Laundry mat. It seems that way but honestly it is the most reasonably priced. I honestly pay the same amount or even more at other locations especially when my clothes has not dry yet. I would have to wait even longer if it has not dried. At least here they tell you their that both washing and dry can be at least 24 minutes. To be honest I only need 24 minutes of dry for my regular items. I am not at the laundry mat for more than 2 hours. It is a spacious facility, with a seating area, plenty of folding and not cramped. This a card system and not a coin. Less weight to your wallet. They also offer Laundry service, I have yet to try it. From what I see they do a great job of it. They clean the facility daily and possibly hourly. So, Yes this place is a 5 star Laundry facility. read more

Great space with lots of washers and dryers. We had to wait a bit for the 6 and 8 load machines to open up, but it was nothing unreasonable. There's plenty of places to sit and wait inside. I really liked that the entire time we were there, there was staff on site making sure everything was clean. You can pay for the machines by purchasing a card and adding credit using either a credit/debit card or cash. In the future, I think it would be great to add some vending machines that carry laundry detergent, softener, dryer sheets, snacks, drinks, etc. Maybe I missed it, but didn't see one inside. read more

RE: TREVORS RETORT. Couldn't be farther from the truth. When I came in to report the issue, the only resolution I was offered was for the manager to look into it and reach out to the owner. After waiting with no insight to next steps or clear communication, I again approached another employee and asked for an ETA as I didn't have time to sit around and wait. This employee went to the back office to check into the situation only to report that they were still discussing with management. I had to ask again for an ETA on resolution, in which I still did not receive. It would have been very simple to just say they would get back to me in a reasonable time. At that time I had to reach out to the owner myself, in which he gave a specific window for reply and resolution, and then failed to meet his own schedule. At this point I informed Trevor that I no longer wish to do business with him or his team, nor do I wish to waste anymore time trying to get a refund. This is the third time Lucy's has lost my laundry on fluff and fold. UPDATE: TREVOR IS LYING. None of the employees offered a refund, only to investigate. Trevor did however offer a refund after I called, however I had already ordered replacements and didn't see the point in wasting anymore time, which was the biggest issue in the first place. Being my first time there, one of the workers Charlie was a big help and guided me with loading money on their laundromat card and Charlie also helped me with how to use the machines. I had such a great experience here that I must leave a review. Mom and I walked in, looking a little lost because we hadn't been to a laundromat for ages. An employee offered to help us. And what a help he was! Literally walking us through each step of the process: Buying a card and koading it. How to start the washing machine. He alerted us when he noticed our washing was done and walked with us to the dryer to make sure we got it going ok. The prices are reasonable and the building is very well aired out so you're not breathing steamy or stale air. Couches and coffee tables are available while waiting and I even saw a shelf of books to read as well. Overall, 10/10 would go again! read more

I was honestly a little nervous about going to a laundromat since I hadn't been to one since college. I wasn't sure how things worked anymore, and I was expecting the worst. I was very wrong! From the moment I walked in, Charlie was incredibly kind and helpful. He took the time to explain everything step by step, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. He truly made the experience stress-free and even enjoyable. The place itself was also very well kept. I noticed Charlie constantly cleaning and staying on top of anything that needed attention. It's clear he takes pride in his work and cares about the environment and the customers. It's nice and spacious! Very clean and both wash and dryers only take 24 Minutes! Unless you add heavy load, extra rinse and I believe the temperature as well. The price does go up if you add extra settings. Example. I use either two 4-load washers or two 3-load washers. I put the extra rinse, heavy soil and I put it on the hot temperature. If I'm not mistaken it comes out to $9 and some change( could be $10 and some change) for BOTH 3-load washers. The 4-load washers with the same settings as the 3-load, It's probably around $12 and some change possibly $13 and change FOR BOTH!!! I'm washing about 1-3 weeks worth of clothes. And I'll either dry them in 1 dryer or maybe two depending on how much laundry I had. read more
