Very bad experience with them. I have been a client for several years. They have ruined multiple items, and every time have completely denied responsibility. My dress shirts are typically laundered, and the buttons are routinely chipped and cracked, and more than one shirt has been torn. They blame the laundering process, and suggest that I use dry cleaning. I have had more than one garment dry cleaned, and returned so badly bleached they are ruined. They offer no explanation for those, except 'it must be old' (wrong). The only good thing I can say about the business is that their staff (not ownership) is friendly. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews but this place has such shady business practices I just had to leave one. Now that I'm here I definitely should have read the reviews first before leaving my purse with them! I brought in a pink purse that was slightly dirty as I was unfamiliar with cleaning purses and didn't want to mess it up on my own. I took it to them to clean it and the owner told me it might be hard to clean which I understood and wasn't expecting perfection I just wanted him to do the best he could. To my surprise when I got the purse back like 3 weeks later it was completely ruined. I didn't mind waiting for it as the owner told me he had to send it out for it to be cleaned and wait for it to be sent back and I was in no particular rush. Sadly my purse came back completely RUINED. It came back extremely discolored, dry, and covered in scratches. Unfortunately I paid the other half for the cleaning fee (the first half was paid when I dropped off the purse) before looking at the purse because I didn't expect it to be ruined. I looked at the purse in the parking lot before driving off and went back in minutes later because the purse looked completely horrible with scratches all over it and discolored. The owner was giving me a hard time about it and kind of blaming me for it since "he told me it was going to be hard to clean" but ended up taking the purse back to send it back and be fixed. Two weeks later I got my purse back this time with less scratches yet still discolored and dry regardless of the ticket noting discoloration. When I got my purse back I talked to the owner again telling him how my purse didn't look right which I guess he didn't like. This time he still blamed me for it because "he told me it was going to be hard to clean" and basically refused to do anything about it but me sending back the purse had nothing to do with it still being dirty the issue I had with it was the discoloration, dryness, scratches all over, and green around the gold lettering in the front of the bag. He was acting like I brought the purse in extremely dirty and almost black and it was so impossible to clean. It honestly was dirty a little bit hence why I took it to the dry cleaner in the first place but not anything extreme. Other places I took it to did a test area and declined taking it in as they weren't familiar with that kind of purse which is fair. I wrongfully assumed this place would do something similar! I would have much rather preferred they sent it back to me in the same state I brought it in rather than completely ruining it. My step dad also tried calling him to discuss the situation after I had my purse sent back the second time and it was still ruined because maybe I wasn't explaining myself well or my frustrations weren't super clear, and the owner refused to speak to him. He told my step dad that it had nothing to do with him and he didn't need to explain himself to anyone. I'm not extremely upset about the $50 purse cleaning fee as it isn't very much money nor am I extremely upset about my purse being ruined even though I have every right to be. The thing that upsets me the most is the lack of professionalism, integrity and unwillingness to do anything to make the situation right. How in any way shape or form is it my fault as a customer for my purse being ruined after taking it to "professionals." I can't really speak for how they care for clothing but if you go here, I don't recommend dropping your bag off here definitely take it somewhere else. I attached photos of it before when it was new and after the second time it was sent back to me. The purse was relatively new so the before and after aren't far apart. I wish I took a picture of how it looked right before I took it in but it wasn't that dirty so I didn't think I was going to end up with this whole ordeal. read more

This business is not one you want to support. I brought in a few items including a costume, originally I was told the costume would be $25 dollars which I thought was high considering it essentially it is a shirt and pants, then upon pick up I was charged an additional $30 dollars for 3 sashes that go with the costume. They tried to give a discount after the fact but definitely was not honest about the original price then tried to sneakily charge me more. I've been going to Crown Cleaners for years and I'm finally fed up enough to give this place one star. First of all, this dry cleaners is expensive for a mediocre job. Maybe it's the area it's in, but for the price and trouble I've gotten, I realized I need to take my business elsewhere. One time, they removed a hem on a dress they dry cleaned for me. I called, told them the problem, and they told me to bring the dress back in and that they would re-hem it for free. When I went to pick the dress back up, they tried to charge me for the hem, and when I told the associate who was working that I was told it would be free, he told me I was wrong and asked who I spoke to... I had to tell him it was him. There's only a few people who work there, and we all know each other's faces. Come on! He gave me grief about it, but didn't end up charging me in the end. Another time, I forgot my dry cleaning slip in the car and my bill was $30. I knew that wasn't right, went back to my car, and found the receipt. I brought it back in, showing them the price was $12, and they refused to honor the price on the original slip. That's not right at all. Since the last review, they have charged me multiple times for a pet hair removal fee, and they've charged me multiple times to dry clean the belt that comes with the dress. That's honestly ridiculous. Don't waste your time or your money, find somewhere else! read more

Going to Best Cleaners for 10 years....Tried California Cleaners on Mesa Verde because I needed a dress cleaned & didn't have time to pick it up from Crown....I will never try another dry cleaners. After many horrible experiences with my local 17th street area dry cleaners, I am so happy to have found Crown Cleaners. Great prices! The staff even once offered to charge me the shirt price for a very short dress (not sure if that says more about the cleaners or the inappropriate length of my dresses...YIKES!) Have never messed anything up, and will get my cleaning back to me by 5 if I get everything in before 12. They have also done rush jobs for me with a minimal amount of begging. Good prices, good work, fast turnaround. Oh, and they have never lost anything. One might think these would all be common descriptions of any dry cleaner still in business, but given my past experiences I have learned to appreciate the basics. Coats: $12-15 depending on length Overall turn around time can be same day if you bring in early morning and pick up late afternoon, and ONLY take-in clothes/pick up clothes so no dry cleaning service is active on saturdays. Open from 7am-7pm on weekdays, 9am-5pm on saturdays, sundays CLOSED. I called to ask if I could pick it up at 5:15, even though they closed at 5. They said yes, and even though I was later than expected, they were there patiently waiting for me at almost 5:30. Watch Out! It is under new ownership since late 2011 and it hasn't been the same since. I've been a customer here for the last 8 years and the service, price, honesty, and professionalism is no more. The new people seem greedy and insincere. The prices have gone up with reasons that make no sense. Too often, the same clothing I bring in to get cleaned are charged different prices! A few reasons why prices keep changing on me: 1. fabric is thick and it takes a longer time to dry 2. length??? (no alteration history, btw) 3. has lining 4. stains (charge more for stains?) 5. delicate fabric I've been hearing a few different rumors on why the previous family sold the business and miss them terribly. THEY were the family that have grown this business for over 20 years. NOT the people there now! If anyone knows what happened, please let me know. Hope they are doing well. :-/ read more

I've been here at least 20 times in the last year-and-a-half and I've never had any issues. Prices are reasonable, the service is fast, and when I have a lot of clothes to pick up, they always offer to carry my stuff to my car AND load it. Even in the rain (okay, so it really doesn't rain too much here, but there were at least 2 times I was there in the rain and they brought my stuff to the car)! Great service! Their parking lot is kind of crazy busy, so if you can get there during the day, it's easier to park. And, sometimes we drop off our cleaning, eat sushi a couple of doors down and then go home. read more

I know that this rip wasn't there because it was a brand new dress shirt that I had worn for an hour before getting stains on it before getting it dry cleaned! It's taken me a while to write this review but I had such an awful experience I had to share my story. I Was in the area and looking for a new dry cleaning place close to the studio I work out at. Crown had pretty good reviews so I figured I'd give them a shot. I called them up and they gave me a decent quote for the items I needed to be dry cleaned. First off they didn't honor the price they had quoted me over the phone and charged an additional $45. That's not the worst part. I took my silk Michael Kors blouse here along with my white work blazer amongst some other items to be dry cleaned. I showed them the spots that needed extra care and they marked them to ensure they were taken care of. When I returned to get my clothing they were very rude and basically shoved me out the door with my items. Didn't even give me a chance to look at the clothes. When I got home I noticed one of the MK stamped metal tassels from the silk blouse was missing which made it unwearable as the 2 tassels tie in the front and if you don't tie them the shirt slides down off your shoulders. My white blazer which had some stains on it that had been marked for removal were still there. When I showed up the next day to address the issues they dismissed me as if I had done something wrong and then told me I must have ripped the tassel off myself and some stains simply can't be removed. I was so livid at that point I just told them they had lost my business forever and walked out. They didn't seem to care one bit or try to rectify the situation in any way. I'm sure some people have had great experiences here but for me it was a nightmare. I had to throw away my silk blouse and go to another dry cleaning place to get the remaining stains out of my blazer. read more

The worst experience after the owner changed. They said they would clean the stain on my shirt but it was there. I pointed it and they tried again and made it worse. I tried to talk to the manager or the owner there but the Korean guy told me he was not gonna argue with me. And also they charged me for that "cleaning". The rudest people ever. This place is awful! I took my boyfriends shirts in to be dry cleaned and they gave me a receipt of coat. I paid before leaving so that pick up would be faster. When I returned to pick up my garments they told me I owed more money?!?! WHAT?!?!? I had been bringing in his shirts here for a few months. When I inquired what I owed more money they told me it cost more to do the cleaning than they had told me. I spoke with the owner and he acknowledged that it was their mistake but I still had to pay for it. Unbelievable, you make a mistake and the customer is responsible. NOPE. I refuse to return to this establishment and I am telling everyone I know what poor business practice this place has. read more

What lifesavers! I was a bridesmaid in a wedding in Malibu on Saturday. The Monday night the week of the wedding, my pet decided to "relieve herself" all over my bridesmaid dress hanging on the back of my door. Panicked, I took it over to Crown, in tears asking if there was anything they could do. I needed it by Thursday night, since I was leaving Friday morning. Jay was so awesome! He calmed me down, explained what he steps he would take after throughly examined the material (all silk). And....miracle worker! Plus it was ready EARLY, so I had much less stress. He charged me $30, which I feel was fair for the rush circumstances and relief of mind. Great cleaners, they have earned a loyal customer! I've tried Kona (so rude, both locations) and a few other locals, but the extra care and personal touch from Jay have made me want to sing their praises. Thank you Jay and staff! :) read more
