Terrible!!!! Zero stars! They ruined a dress of mine and then refused to take any accountability. They took the color out of the dress. I had only worn it one time and now it has a big white circle in the middle of the brown Jean dress. They should test their product before using it so they don't remove the color. I was told to talk to the manager. I called the manager more than 10 times without any returned call. I went to the cleaners in person 5 plus times and was told the manager just stepped out. DO NOT USE THIS CLEANERS!!! Dropped off 11 items to be dry cleaned only to be charged $175 a week later picked up my clothes. None of my husband's jackets had been Pressed at all. Complete wrinkled mess with a very expensive couple suit jackets! They told me a manager would be calling me and I never heard from anybody. Finally went back six days later received a complete rude attitude from the lady working the front desk who proceeded to tell me that that's how my husband jackets would look because of the fabric and told me they had been pressed when the former employee pick up told me they hadn't been pressed, and I told her this is not the case as these jackets get pressed all the time and never look like this and then she told me they hadn't been pressed!!! This cleaners is a waste of time and money with piss poor attitudes and bad customer service. Save your money!!!! read more

Horrible customer service. Dropped off my child's uniforms for school- they told me to pick them up the latest by the end of the day. Then decided to wait and pick them up later the next morning. Woman at the front had a bad attitude and told me that they still would not be ready until the next day. Never received a phone call or text. Woman at the front was beyond rude- and laughed when I asked for the managers phone number. I will never support going to this local business again. I've been wanting to write this review for a long time and would have given Olivia's zero stars if that was an option. Reaching them on the phone was a nearly impossible, getting the owner to take responsibility for his actions and the actions of his company (or the inaction) was impossible, and finding an employee that could speak for the company or even put the owner in touch with me was an exercise in prolonged frustration. I went in one day to pick up clothes and couldn't find anyone in the building. After I waited for awhile, called out, and then phoned them the owner Joel came up to the desk disheveled and told me there was an equipment failure and the clothes were not ready but promised me they would be ready if I came in the next day. I gave him my cell number and asked him to have someone call me if they would not be ready the following evening and he agreed. I called the next day to be sure my clothes were ready, but the phone just rang, no answer and no message. So I drove over and an employee told me the order wasn't ready. Days later I tried calling and couldn't get through, so I drove over again, the owner was there and I asked him for my order and what happened. He couldn't locate my clothes and blamed the employee for the problem saying it was her fault because she didn't get his message. His behavior seemed childish. I found it disappointing that the owner didn't take "ownership" and told him I was quite frustrated with this experience, not receiving a call, not being able to reach anyone on the phone, and driving over multiple times with the clothes not ready. While I was speaking with him he turned away and started running the garment conveyor, maybe to continue looking for my clothes but I don't know. He checked out. I asked him if he understood my frustration. He lashed out a me, got in my face, and instructed me not to treat him like a child. His behavior shocked me. In responding I raised my voice and he started pushing me toward the door and screamed at me to "GET OUT!" I asked him if he could please find my clothes because I never wanted to come back. He just kept screaming for me to get out and when he saw a woman nearby outside the store shouted at her to "CALL THE POLICE!" I left and sat in my car outside for a bit trying to recover. After a few minuted he came out with my clothes and hung them on the outside of his door for me. Joel is a scary guy and seemed quite unstable. Unfortunately the story doesn't end here. I had dropped off some clothes when I had been there a few days earlier that weren't due to be ready for several more days. A few days later I went in on a day Joel wasn't supposed to be working the counter. I was hoping to put this place behind me but they didn't have one of my shirts, telling me it had accidentally been delivered to another customer due to a mixup. So I assumed they send the driver back to get my shirt and it's done. So weeks go by and they say they can't find the shirt and ask me for the receipt to submit to their insurance so I can replace it. I follow their instructions and send the receipt to the email they gave me. I didn't hear anything for weeks. I sent follow up emails and heard nothing. Calling them I usually didn't get anyone to pick up. Finally someone picked up one day and said they were working on it. This process went on for MONTHS. Absolutely crazy! They never contacted me up to this point. I was all my problem. I resubmitted the receipt and asked for the owner to call me with status but that never happened. After another month or so an employee called me and told me they found my shirt! I was asked if I wanted to pick it up at the shop or have it delivered to my home. I chose home delivery since I had no desire to go back there. Weeks went by and the shirt wasn't delivered. I got through on the phone and they told me they didn't know where my shirt was. So I had to bite the bullet and go in on a day Joel was there. I walked in, he saw me, and before I spoke he said "You didn't get it? I gave if to my wife to deliver to you." So he blamed his wife for this one. He asked me to describe the shirt which I did, he disappeared into the back for a while and emerged with my shirt. Thank GOD I could put this place in the rearview mirror for good. A complete nightmare. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! read more

I discovered Olivia's about a year ago. I needed to get a Burberry coat cleaned. A little nervous to "test" out a new cleanser with such a high ticket item, I planned to first drop off work shirt. When I arrived, I got such a good vibe from the attendant, and other guests coming/ going that I decided to leave the coat after all. They did a great job! And because I was a first time client I got some crazy discount where I only paid like $6 or something ridiculous!!! My second, and most recent encounter with Olivia's was 2 weeks ago. My tailor stained/ dirtied my wedding dress 2 days before my departure for my destination wedding in Cancun! I was so disappointed I couldn't even believe. I called around and nobody would agree to the job! It wasn't enough time and wedding dresses are a big deal. I remembered Olivia's and called right away. Eddie was nice (maybe he heard the panic in my voice) he called his boss immediately and they agreed to a ONE DAY TURNAROUND time!!! Omg! Of course, the dress was like new once again. The young woman at the front is really not friendly. I came by to drop off some clothes at 4:50 (they closed at 5)and she was clearly irritated and wanted to close. She made me wait while she walked up to the door to turn the sign to "closed". Then she came back to the counter and watched me count my clothes without offering to help. I don't need to go somewhere where it's an inconvenience to provide a service. I came here for the Yelp review because they had 4 stars but I won't be back. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I took a Versace dress there on Friday at 12:30 asking if it was possible to get next day service. The gentleman at the front went and checked and when he came back he informed me that the guy was done for the day but he would do it for me, to come back after four. I asked what time they closed, 5:30, and said I would be back by then. When I got my dress home and took it out of the bag it was wet, to the point that I laid it on a towel on my kitchen table overnight to dry. I thought that was weird but being ignorant to how dry cleaning goes I thought that the chemical that is used must have not had time to dry. It was still damp to the touch the following morning when I put it on to show my husband what I was wearing to a wedding later. That's when I discovered that it no longer fits. The shoulder straps are too short for the top to sit on my chest the right way and the front is all blousy and shapeless. I tried it on before deciding to wear it and getting it cleaned at it was perfect. So I immediately took it back to speak with someone. The same gentleman said he would tell the owner to give me a call when he came in. That was on Saturday morning. Monday morning still nothing so I go in to speak with the owner. He is rude from the get go. Tells me that he bagged the dress himself and it was dry. That is an outright lie. He told me to sue him then, that he wasn't going to do anything about it. I know for a fact that he is lying through his teeth because my dress was wet and is ruined. And when he told me that he bagged it himself he immediately followed that with I'm not lying. What person says that unless they are. The whole interaction with the owner was blunt and rude and short. He is terrible and he knows he's full of shit. I will 100% be suing this place. So pissed! Response to Joel: YOU ARE A LIAR AND YOU KNOW IT!!! I never said spot clean, I asked for it to be dry cleaned next day. If you were there you would know that. My dress was wet when I took it out of the bag at home, I laid it out on a towel on my kitchen table over night, it no longer fit in the morning. PERIOD. It was ruined at your place and you are now lying about it. You were hostile and abrasive as soon as I said why I was there, and you immediately said "I'm not lying" when I told you that it was wet. Only a lying ass would act that way because they are trying to cover it up. You are rude and unprofessional. You were telling me to sue within 30 seconds of me speaking to you. Dropped off my jacket to be dry-cleaned and asked the guy at the counter how much it would cost. He told me $9.50 so I figured that was fine and left it. Picked it up from the same guy and he charged me $16.50 !!? All he could say was 'Sorry". I consider this place a rip-off. read more

Very disappointing. I had recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dry cleaner. I found them on Yelp and saw the 5 star reviews, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to try. I consistently used them for a couple months. I never liked their customer service, but always bit my tongue because they are 3 blocks from where I live/work. One time, I waited over 15 minutes because the woman behind the counter was on the telephone. She was speaking another language so I couldn't tell if it was a customer or not, but she never acknowledged me. I waited and finally she got off the phone and then never said sorry for waiting or any sort of apology. Meanwhile, half of my 30 minute lunch break was wasted because she was rambling on the telephone. The real problem came when I got home. My dress had a note on it. It said that the garments may have been altered during the dry cleaning process. What the?! So I searched the dress and realized that the entire neckline was frayed. UGH! A $150 dress was ruined. I would have at least liked to have been told about this over the phone or in person when I picked it up. However, to have to "discover" it through a note is so unprofessional. I will never come here ever again, and I warn all of you out there to be very wary of letting them clean your clothing, especially your expensive pieces. read more

Update: I used to give them five stars, but deducted a star for bad tailoring; so this should not affect you for dry cleaning. I brought in two $100+ curtains to make 6" shorter. Somehow my 8' curtains are now exactly 7' curtains. They doubled the area removed. Why doesn't this place have more reviews?! This is HANDS DOWN one of the best local businesses I have ever had the pleasure of patronizing. They go above and beyond to meet the needs of their customers, and they're even friendly in the process - a seeming rarity in today's culture of self check-out and cold indifference. Out of sheer negligence on my part, I forgot to take my cleaning earlier in the week in advance of a business trip next week. Thursday night, I was driving by, and Joel (the owner) was still there, an hour and a half after closing time. Even though the door was locked, he let me in and took my 16 shirts. I explained my situation, and told him that I was in desperate need of a quick turnaround. He said "when do you need them?" Embarrassed, I said "ummmm, is there any way I could have a few of them by 3pm tomorrow?" I was sure he'd laugh - but instead, he said "Well, how about ALL of them by 1pm?" How's THAT for customer service? The cleaning is done in-house, not sent out to be potentially lost. Every garment I've ever received back has been pristine, perfectly pressed, and ready to go. Olivia's has earned my loyalty! I heartily recommend them, and will continue to drive to them if I ever move out of the neighborhood. I cannot recommend this place enough! While wearing my favorite faux fur winter coat three years ago, I roasted marshmallows with my friends and the marshmallow got all over the sleeve. Apparently I forgot (?) and just hung it up. I pulled it out of my closet recently and the marshmallow was all dried and caked in. I knew it was probably a goner, but thought I would give it to Olivia's to try to clean it. It came back absolutely perfect! You would NEVER know marshmallow was smeared all over the sleeve. I have been using Olivia's for many years now. I primarily wear French cuffed shirts for work. They are done perfectly every time. The cuffs can sometimes be tricky. When I get my shirts back they are perfectly pressed, the cuffs are folded into place with a throw away cufflink and stays in the collar. In thirty plus years of business, I have never found a cleaner that pays this much attention to detail. On top of it all the people are really nice. You can always tell a business by how long the employees are there. They have had the same employees for many years and they mostly know me by name. Joel, the owner is a really great guy and on the few occasions we had a issue he stepped up and fixed it. He even is proactive and found a flaw in one of my new custom shirts and personally brought it to my attention. I am picky when it comes to my clothes. I trust no one else with my dry cleaning. Olivia's is one of the best run businesses of any kind in Orange County. It is a highly recommend from me. read more

This place ruined my wedding dress. Ok, I definitely did the damage on the wedding day but I dropped the dress off 72 hours after my May wedding to get cleaned. They tell me it would take 6 weeks. About 12 weeks later (after absolutely NO communication from them) I call and they say "oh we're still cleaning it - it takes time and several run through's to get clean". Another 12 weeks go by before I HAD TO CALL THEM again... keep in mind, no communication from the business to me, the customer. They mention they had been calling a different customer the whole time with a "whoops!" kind of tone. Essentially, what they ended up saying, SIX months later, is that they never cleaned the dress because they were trying to get a hold of me (which again, was a "whole different customer who had a similar dress"???) to tell me that this silk in particular is 'tricky' and they wanted to know if i wanted them to wash it or dry clean it. SIX MONTHS LATER they hadn't even cleaned it yet!! The best part was when I was talking to the owner I tell him that I'm concerned since these stains have now been sitting on the dress for 6 months now and I dropped it off right after they were made for a reason. He says "EXCUSE me but I'M the expert and that doesn't matter at all, I would know..." and undermined me as the customer. He then says he'd dry clean it and I can pick it up. When I did pick it up, in NOVEMBER after my May wedding - it looked like NOTHING had been done. Overall bottom line - BE CAREFUL when bringing your good possessions to this cleaner. I came here because I was recommended by a friend and now I wish I could go back in time and bring my dress ANYWHERE else that would have done something with it right away, and then - when dealing with their faults, would have OWNED up to them and not treated me like I was wrong in the matter. I love Joel, the owner. I have had 2 great experiences when he went above and beyond his job. The first time I brought in a white eyelet dress that was starting to yellow. He looks at it and said " I don't need to wash this for you. You can do it at home with oxyclean on delicate. I was surprised that he was turning away business for himself but grateful for the tips since I loved the dress. I did as suggested and it come out perfect and white. I am thrilled. My 2nd experience is with 2 comforters I bought for my son's big boy room. I wanted to clean them prior to him sleeping in them. However, they had a large stripe of red next to white and I feared the red would run. Joel walked me through all the risks and we decided to try laundering them individual. He took such car and time and they turned out perfectly. I have never been to a cleaners that is that knowledgable and caring about his work. Great customer service. The employees behind the counter KNOW ME BY NAME! I couldn't believe it. I still can't remember theirs, but what a nice touch to say hello to me. The owner is there all the time. He is honest and let's me know when something can't be cleaned. He once saw spots on my daughter's blouse and offered to pay for a new one. I went to Surfside, purchased it new, brought in the receipt and he paid me on the spot. We weren't even sure if my daughter made the spots or he did. GREAT customer service. I was looking for a dry cleaners for one of my really expensive dresses that i was worried to drop off just anywhere. Checked the Yelp reviews for Olivia's and decided to try it. Wow, not only did they have the experience of the fabrication of the dress and how to clean it, it came back spotless. The last time I took in a dress of the same fabrication, it was ruined without an apology. The reason for the slight increase in price is because these people KNOW their business. I am more than willing to pay a smidge more to ensure my confidence that i will get my dresses back the same way from when i purchased them. Excellent customer service AND delivery. Sold. read more

This is my first yelp review, ever. I just received the most disturbing phone call from Joel who ended the call by hanging up on me. I have never experienced such poor service. Instead of taking responsibility for destroying a blouse that had been worn once, he blamed the manufacturer and refused to acknowledge any liability. If he would have calmly explained his policy, I would have been fine and moved past the issue. Instead he took an aggressive and inappropriate tone that still has me in shock. Excellent cleaning, some of the best in fact... WORST service. Here you are not dealing with professionals when it comes to customer service. The people behind the counter are snooty and laissez faire when dealing with you. The owner, Joel is a self-righteous arrogant business owner with a "customer is always wrong" attitude. Recently they cleaned a $200 silk tie for me, that came back pressed and ruined. Joel stated there was no way it got pressed because his presser of 15 years does not press ties. To be clear, I did not argue nor ask for replacement goods, I just wanted to bring this to his attention. Joel proceeded to be un-apologetic of any sort, continuing to place blame on myself or the manufacture and take none of his own responsibility. A few days later when picking up an order I asked to speak with him in which he was unwilling to come out while I was there and his employee said it would be a while and I would have to wait... Suffice to say I left, received a call from Joel telling me to "Go to hell" and never come back. Right or wrong sometimes we all have to swallow our pride and ego, especially when dealing and delivering service to others. This is no way to treat a customer.
