We clearly discussed removing only a small amount from the hem so that I would not step on the dress. I tried the dress on in the shop, and it was pinned to the exact length we agreed upon. When I got home, I discovered that the dress had been completely ruined. Far more fabric had been removed than authorized, and the dress was no longer wearable for the event. The alteration was not what was requested or approved. I immediately called the shop in tears because I had no time to replace the dress before the wedding and had already spent a significant amount of money on it. I returned to the store the same day, where I was told that the seamstress had made a mistake and that they did not know how this happened. Since then, I have made every reasonable effort to resolve this directly. I provided photos and a written letter to the owner requesting reimbursement for the damaged dress. Despite more than 10 follow-up calls over the course of the past few months, I have received no reimbursement and not even the courtesy of a return phone call. Ruining a customer's expensive garment is bad enough. Refusing to take responsibility or respond for months is inexcusable. DO NOT GO HERE.
