Absolutely unacceptable service and complete lack of accountability. I brought a brand-new, expensive dress here for alterations for my sister-in-law's wedding. We clearly discussed removing only a small amount from the hem so that I would not step on the dress. I tried the dress on in the shop, and it was pinned to the exact length we agreed upon. When I got home, I discovered that the dress had been completely ruined. Far more fabric had been removed than authorized, and the dress was no longer wearable for the event. The alteration was not what was requested or approved. I immediately called the shop in tears because I had no time to replace the dress before the wedding and had already spent a significant amount of money on it. I returned to the store the same day, where I was told that the seamstress had made a mistake and that they did not know how this happened. Since then, I have made every reasonable effort to resolve this directly. I provided photos and a written letter to the owner requesting reimbursement for the damaged dress. Despite more than 10 follow-up calls over the course of the past few months, I have received no reimbursement and not even the courtesy of a return phone call. Ruining a customer's expensive garment is bad enough. Refusing to take responsibility or respond for months is inexcusable. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I got my mothers 40 year old wedding dress, that had never been cleaned (since her wedding) at this Beach Cleaners on Beach Blvd and it is close to perfect now! I am so happy with this place, and the lady that works there is so awesome. The wedding dress had giant yellow stains on many parts of the dress, and had a weird light yellow tint. I told her I was mainly concerned on keeping the dress in good quality - so if they didn't get everything out it was fine. It came out in perfect condition almost basically perfectly white!! I was STUNNED! I even took the dress to a current bridal salon and the ladies were so impressed with how white it was they thought it had been professionally preserved.. No longer reliable or competent. Have repeatedly been promised my clothes would be ready by a given day and not had them; hours keep shrinking (don't trust what it says on Yelp!), and on top of that the employees are likely to close up shop early; and last time I picked up clothes half the lot had a disgusting chemical smell to them--not a faint whiff, but something that could be smelled across the room and had to rewash half the clothes. Done with these folks. With their prices it should be a premium service, it's not. It's a shame, have spent thousands here over the past 10 years but under the new management it's a s**tshow. read more

I would put a -1 star if I could. Used this place for a couple weeks. Never had an issue with my cleaners before like this. I put a shirt on I just get back. I look in the mirror and there is a rip in the front. So I take my tie and shirt off and put another one on. I go to work and everyone tells me I have a rip on the back of my shirt. Frustrated I just go through the day with a torn shirt. After work I go home change and return back to the cleaners. I show them the shirts and they said the owner will call me back and if I want credit or shirt replacements. I said hit have him call me. If he would have called me I could understand a mistake and probably would have just dropped it. Here we are. A week later with no reply. I take a bag full of my cloths to drop off and ask what happened to my phone call. They said that they didn't do it. So basically I am SOL and they have ever damaged a shirt before. I asked for the manager/owner. He said his name is Steve. I asked for a last name. She said she didn't know. I would have preferred to use this cleaner since it is walking distance from my house. My wife owns a business locally. We will not return. We will not recommend this cleaner to any of our friends or neighbors. What a poor choice not to even return a phone call. Steve is suppose to be there at 1:30. I will drop in to see what he has to say. Or if he really exists. Update. I chose not to go back. I found an amazing dry cleaners on Main St by my alteration lady. Main st cleaners has some good reviews from my friends. Rather give my business to someone that appreciates customer service. These guys are absolutely the best. I have used them for the Last 7 years. They are efficient and reliable. Today I found out that I needed to leave for Denver on business tomorrow. At 9:30 this morning I took a load of cleaning to them and asked if there was any way I could possibly get a few important items back later today. I was looking for a place to hem pants since every pair I own are too long. I took a pair of jeans I have owned for 2 years and haven't worn because they are too long to Beach Cleaners. The ladies welcomed me with a friendly greeting, and the place looked tidy and clean. It did not smell like harsh cleaning chemicals, either. They have a nice little fitting room that looks brand new, or well taken care of, to try on your clothes for alteration markings. I was impressed that just by touching my jeans the lady knew they had never been washed, and had some spandex in them. I also took my guy's Tommy Bahama shirt to be dry cleaned. They had my name in the system, but I had never used this location. I did take some pants to be cleaned to a location up the street, and think they are owned by the same people. The parking lot is plentiful, and the location is good for me because it is near my apartment. They also do laundry for $1.70 per pound. I don't know what the going rate is at other places. They charge considerably more than other cleaners In the area, and they wasted three days of my time when I needed something done expeditiously. I can't speak to the quality of work because I decided to take my item elsewhere. In more detail: I brought in an item to have the zipper seen on it was already pinned and partially sewn - probably would've taken about 5 mins on my sewing machine. I had to ask for a price and was told $20. $20 for this??? I decided to take it somewhere else but the woman at the counter told me to leave it there and she'd double check with their seamstress. She would arrive the following day and I would receive a phone call with the price on the following morning. I never received a phone call, so early evening the next day I called and was given a price only slightly lower - but still significantly higher than what it would cost anywhere else. So I declined and said I would pick it up in a few minutes. I was then told that the seamstress had taken it home and I wouldn't be able to pick it up until the following day. So, three days of wasted time and my item is still at square 1... the attendant inside was courteous, I just didn't appreciate that I wasn't kept informed and my item was taken anyway which resulted in a complete waste of time and effort. read more

This review is for the tailoring services provided by Beach Cleaners, and not the dry cleaning services. Dropped something off on Monday for tailoring for an event tomorrow (Saturday). They said that it would be ready Friday, no problem. Just went to pick up my item and they told me they couldn't do the alteration at all. They told me on Monday that they could do the alteration, kept my clothes for 5 days, and never called me to tell me they had a second thought and couldn't do it, and now I am stuck with nothing for my event tomorrow. This is the second time this has happened. Last fall I had dropped off a suit where the lining had fallen out, and needed it the following week for work. Came to pick it up before my trip and the seamstress never did the job. Overall, their tailoring is good when they actually do the job they commit to. But for people that need clothes for commitments, they are not reliable. read more

Only minor issue that I experience was having to call them instead of them calling me on the progress. It looked like black tar or oil, idk but some huge black smug got on it and looked like there was no way of getting it off. Somehow they got it off completely. It looks brand new. Pricy for women's clothes or anything beyond men's shirts. I asked if they fix shoes, the tiny high heel portion of a shoe. I was quoted $20, fine- more than I expected but fine. I had to wait two weeks and at pickup was charged $40!! I could purchase a new pair for that. I am okay finding a new cleaner that has better prices on dry cleaning and of course a new cobbler. After going back and complaining I ended up paying $20 for the shoe repair. read more

Do not buy the 20 for 30 deal!!! They will not honor it. I paid $20 online (yelp offered deal) thinking that I was going to get $30 worth of services. When I went in to pick up my clothes the total was $32... I'm thinking "great! No problem! I owe them $2!" When I showed the woman the certificate I had purchased initially she acted like she didn't know what advertised deal I was talking about... Then after calling the owner/manager on the phone. I was informed that they were going. To give me "$10 off." I said "hmm that doesn't really make sense does it? Essentially you are telling me me I paid $20 online for a $10 off coupon?" And the woman shrugged as if to say it's not her problem and I can take it or leave it. She then told me that I could come back tomorrow to claim my clothes and talk to the manager (not possible because I was flying out for business the next day and needed the clothes for the trip) and then she said "we had the same coupon bought online and presented by another guy last weekend, and he took the $10 off coupon we offered him" I said "what the hell?! You are telling me that earlier in the week you essentially took $20 from someone and gave them back $10? Again she shrugged. I tried to call the manager and she refused to talk to me, in fact claimed she couldn't hear me and then hung up on me. I took 2 pairs of pants to get hemmed here (original hems) and was very dissatisfied with both pairs. On both pairs of pants, the woman just cut off the bottom of the leg and replaced the original hem, not taking into account the flare of the pant leg. This resulted in the side seam of the pant not matching the side seam of the hem/cuff of the pant. It was $12 per pair of pants, definitely way too much for the quality of work. When dropping off my pants, the guy ahead of me was complaining how the comforter he just picked up did not seem or smell any cleaner than when he dropped it off. The owner was apologetic and offered to reclean the comforter. Won't go back, for dry cleaning or alterations. read more

I've been coming to this place for a long time. They are right around the corner from my house, and have always done a good job for a fair price and been really nice. Unfortunately, since the center was updated and new business has been coming in, things have changed. They no longer provide complimentary water, which was always a special treat that set this place apart...but today I had an experience that will result in the loss of my business in the future - and you should be cautious too. I took three items in for really minor repairs (small, one-inch tears along seams). When I dropped the items off I was told it would take over a week to do the job. That was ok with me, and I asked how much it would cost. The woman told me that it was an easy job and should be no more than $3-5 each. I came back today, to charges of $8, $8 and $10. More than double what I had been told! When I advised the woman at the counter of the original estimate, she apologized, but refused to honor the price, offer a discount, or do anything other than say she would tell the other woman not to give quotes on prices any longer. She told me that they send all of their alterations out to other places, anyway. I've learned that this is a place that does not honor their prices - and I'd be careful of getting any repairs or alterations done here, unless you are ok with being charged double when you pick them up. read more

I had my husband pick up my cleaners for me, so I didn't get to check it before bringing home. A couple days later, I'm packing to go out of town and take my shorts out of the plastic. This place does a great job, and has very reasonable prices. The Ultimate test was my silk wedding dress! They cleaned it for me after my bridal pre-shoot and it was camera ready for the big day! Then after two receptions (both outdoor) they got it spotless and beautifully preserved. The box is very nice, and packaged up thoroughly.
