Not very helpful currently. Was off and on at first. Devices worked in some rooms and not others 50% of the time, and great at other times. After some fixes and maintenance, it seems to turn of frequently throughout the day on every device every day. I will update the review if it improves. Previous service was more slow than disconnecting. read more

The internet service is completely unreliable. We randomly lose internet for hours at a time without explanation. The customer service in Florida has very limited trouble-shooting tools. Some of the phone agents try hard, others frankly could not care less and should not even be in customer-facing roles. If a reputable cable company were to set up in Payson in competition with Suddenlink, I believe all of the current Suddenlink customers would switch in order to have a reliable service and responsive customer support. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would be the best way to get Suddenlink's attention and hold them accountable for their poor service and their inability to deliver the contractually obligated service speeds. read more

We have SUDDENLINK in Chaparral Pines since 2011. the service is terrible and customer support (in Florida) even worse. The home technicians are good, but they cannot fix the basic problem of lousy, main line internet. the service is below contract minimum and you cannot get service people to fix it. Awful. We need to get COX in Payson. We have them in Scottsdale and the internet is great! read more

Came up to our cabin in Pine for a relaxing Thanksgiving few days. No TV service! All channels dead with "Sorry for channel down". All 99 channels the same, seems to indicate line feed down but ... Called Suddenlink. Went through usual checks, power down, up etc. Followed directions to send box into re-acquiring channels. Box could not find any channels and kept restarting the search. After 9 hours that is all the box will do. Can't get it to stop searching. Handed off to "upper level person". Less capable than first tier person. He suggested it was my TV problem! Uhh, cable box is doing the channel search. He could not tell if there was a cable system outage. Only "suggested" I get a box swap by driving to Payson after they open tomorrow. I feel it is more likely we have a street outage (had them before) but he would not initiate service call. This sucks. Four day holiday without service! If not fixed tomorrow I'm going back home to Cox world, reliable and capable service support. SuddenLink are the worst. read more

Had Suddenlink for about 1.5 years. TV constantly had pixels. Techs came and replaced every connector in the house with same result. Had so many service calls I was on a first name basis. Internet was spotty. Finally was told that part of their facilities had been run over and the main cable for the area was above ground. Construction was to call with repair date but never did. Finally a customer service rep took a little interest and found out we had to wait for a new capital budget to be approved. Fortunately we sold the house and moved. Now we have DirecTV and Century Link for internet. DirecTV is great and Century Link is much slower but works. Just wondering how the sales folks can sell service knowing they can't deliver? ZERO stars. Absolutely terrible internet. When it works, it's been great. If your right by the modem. Literally right by it. It barely worked in the opposite side of the house.... It is unfortunate that Yelp doesn't allow zero stars. Suddenlink doesn't deserve ANY. The only reason this company is able to remain in business is that in many cases it is the only option for Internet connectivity. My current issue with them is that their sales representative blatantly lied to me when I recently decided to add their TV service to my Suddenlink package. I was told that my TOTAL monthly payment would be no more than $138 including all taxes/surcharges/fees etc. AND that I would be given a Tivo box with NO MONTHLY CHARGE. Our first bill after the change was $201.02. Okay, it included charges for a partial month since we started the service in mid-December, but it also included a $17 Tivo charge, a $5 Showtime charge (I never asked for nor was I told this included Showtime) an additional TV charge (? we only have one) and other "misc Tivo charges." I have lost count of the number of people I have spoken to at Suddenlink and the number of hours I have spent on the phone. None of their phone people speak English clearly (big surprise) so communication is even more difficult. I did receive an apology, but the best they have done is bring the bill down to $198.44. My monthly bill will actually be around $148. Wish I had the money to go after them. I can't believe a company can get away with blatantly lying to prospective customers like they do. read more

Worst customer service ever. Neighbors got new service they transfered mine to them. Now I can't get mine back. Switched to 4 depts. Only to sit on hold then dis connected. Then 4 hrs. Later they can't help me because the last person went home and didnt log out of my account so it is locked. Pure incompetent people from get go. read more

If you sign up for Suddenlink, you are wasting your money. Constantly goes down, can't watch a television program without freezing, and forget VOIP. It cuts out so much you can only hear about every 10th word. God help you if its an emergency. read more

At our place in Pine our internet service was disconnected on accident (their fault) and they couldn't get a technician out to fix it for two weeks (they didn't show up for 3 appointments) and then they still charged me for the full month. I called to get it credited back and they kept passing me around and telling me I'd receive a call about it. read more

Have to agree the Suddenlink service in Payson Az is horrible it goes down all the time, literally like a few hours in most days. And you can't report outages because they don't answer the phone when there are problems. It's not a surprise why its bad the junction box out at the street isn't even covered it's just wires. We signed up with Suddenlink because others were getting faster and better service in Strawberry than with Centurylink - there has always been unhappy Suddenlink customers in Payson - 5 weeks into it - we have very fast speeds but only when it occasionally runs- can't do business here at home cause it continually drops out- this is the third repairman to come out - who is polite, but a contractor and really can't tell you if they ever fix anything- I am filing complaints with the FCC now and see if we get a response- I would give this and Centurylink negative ratings if the app provided for it. read more

I moved to Payson in December, 2016. Came from Houston. Found Suddenlink, signed up for the phone, Internet, TV pkg. Have had excellent service from them. Both in the office and from the tech support phone contact. My only beef is the price. I need fast internet and so it seems to be a little more expensive than a lower speed. TV has been great. No complaints. The only issue for me was when someone cut a cable in the ground between us and Wickenburg about 4 months ago. I have a TIVO box HD, and works great. Not much choice in the small town, but have never felt put off or rudeness from the folks here. read more

Suddenlink is one of two hardwire ISPs in Payson, and they know they have a captive audience. The Payson area ISPs' are close to each other cost wise. I am using Suddenlink for internet only, no TV or landline services. The monthly charges for me are: 100 Mbps Internet, $54.99, Network enhancement fee, $2.50, Paper bill convenience fee $1.00, WiFi @ Home, $10.00, Service Call, $60.00. I had a tech come out and tell me that the connection through the wire is the only connection they will guarantee 100 MBPS for, the WiFi is only 8 MBPS.The Tech visit when he told me that the wired connection is the only spot they guarantee the 100 MBPS cost me $60. I don't recommend these guys. read more

I wouldn't even give Suddenlink one star, unfortunately I have to in order to post this review. They're absolute garbage. The service is slow, it goes off and is totally unavailable for hours at a time, sometimes entire days, they try to avoid letting you know about any overages you have, the people in the Payson Az office are seem to have no drive to help anyone with anything (they just give you a number to call and then shoo you out), and when you call the number they provide it sends you to people in Florida who cant seem to do anything for anyone either. Youd have better luck putting your head in the dirt and planting an antenna up your rear. read more

If there was another reliable internet service here, in Payson, I would sign up for their service in a heart beat. I work from home, via the internet, so it's VERY important that I have a reliable internet. To make a long story short, they came to replace some 'boxes', screwed something up and too the internet down for the whole neighborhood. I called Suddenlink, they told me what they thought I wanted to hear, that they would have someone out to my house the next day, between 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Very suspicious, as it gets dark around 6:00. Anyway, of course, didn't hear from anyone. Called back today, and almost the exact same story. I'm very sorry, but I have scheduled you for the very next available appt . . . tomorrow, between 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. THEY ARE LIARS. It's so frustrating because you can't do a damn thing about it. HORRIBLE customer service. The Payson, AZ office of Suddenlink is THE worst customer service I have ever received. I should have immediately walked out when my first encounter with them the lady was browsing the employment ads for a "better job". Rude, lazy, can't get work orders right. Even the first tech they sent to my house was useless. Could have corrected my problem at that time but didn't feel like working that day. I am paying approx $70 a month for the 6 days I was actually able to use the cable. RUNNNNNNNNNN. Spend the extra money on Directv. I wouldn't even give this company one star if I didn't have to give some sort of star rating in order to comment. That said, We bought a home in Pine, AZ back in April. I contacted Suddenlink to establish internet service as they seemed to have the best deal around. The tech finally showed up at our house May 3, 2019 and on time but soon as he stepped out of his work van he looked up and stated " Sorry but you have overhead aerial lines and we're not allowed to hook you up because the company that bought out the corporation says all new service installs have to be underground." I asked if he couldn't just hook us up temporarily as the old service is there and required simply re-connecting a coax wire to the service pedestal. He said he couldn't do that because it's not allowed but he would put in a work order to have the underground work done and it should only take a week or so. I called several times only to be told they had me on "the list". Finally June 5th I called back explaining that I had been waiting over a month to get connected and the customer service person actually scolded me saying "Sir, you need to calm down" and that I'm not the only customer they have and that I needed to just be patient and wait. Well, that did it. They did a credit check on me, took my credit card info and were quick to require all that stuff right up front but once they "had me on the hook", they slammed on the brakes. I called to cancel my order with them and was put on terminal hold because they had to get a supervisors approval in order to be able to cancel my order and the customer service rep was short and seemed to have some sort of attitude problem.. With all the negative reviews Century link has, I called them and 3 days later a modem was delivered to our home and we had internet in a matter of minutes. We have been using Century Link for almost a month now and although they aren't super fast speeds they are acceptable... Video and Pandora stream fine and so far no problems or interruptions in service. Suddenlink is a pathetic excuse for a communications company in my opinion. I moved to Payson, AZ in Sept 2014 and kept my Century Link Internet and had DirecTV television satellite installed. I had 7 Mbps Internet speed in Tucson via Century Link and it was very good for about $38 per month. I could only get 3 Mbps Internet speed from Century Link in Payson and it still cost $37 per month. It was really slow and would not support my VIOP phone over the Internet. I switched to Sudden Link after 3 months after I got a postcard from Century Link that stated they were going to raise my bill rate to $39 per month. I pay $35 per month for 15 Mbps at Sudden Link and it has never even burped in the 3 months I have had it. The customer service is by far the best I have ever had from ANY Internet service company. My Internet speed isn't always 15 Mbps, but it is always between 8 Mbps and 17 Mbps. The slower speed is always temporary and soon pops back up to between 12 and 17 Mbps. I am bery happy with the quality of service and the product. I will be switching from DirecTV to Sudden Link TV service in the middle of April 2015. I will rate their customer service and TV product a few months after I make the switch. Ron read more

This review pertains to Suddenlink's service in Payson, AZ) Suddenlink is greedy, unprofessional, does not care about its customers, and is totally worthless. When I first moved to Payson, for the first several months Suddenlink was fine, although very expensive. Other providers were not yet established in all areas. I went to Suddenlink every payday and paid in cash because they were right next door to my bank. A few months in (six or seven), when I went to pay my bill, they told me I owed for the free services I got when I signed on, including installation charges and fees, and my current bill (nearly tripled) was due and payable now. The next month's bill would be somewhat lower because there would be no further installation, etc. Since I really had trouble with the $110 I had been paying and needed to cut out some of the services I had to sign for to get the "special rate", I learned I would have to continue paying for them for the duration of the 2-year contract I 'd signed. So then and there I canceled Suddenlink. The Suddenlink tv service is provided for free now by my landlord so I'm using it again. Even free is an overcharge because once or twice a month, usually for a whole weekend or night programming, the service goes off. Suddenlink consistently plays two program soundtracks on the same audio channel, which you have to hear to believe, and it happens on ALL channels. You can't fix it by going mono or changing yor audio settings and Suddenlink could care less. The only way I would recommend Suddenlink is if it's free and they give you popcorn. read more

If they hit you with a late fee whether justified or not, you either pay or you are done. They don't care about fair, customers, or anything else that might affect their bottom line. Too bad you have to give at least one star. Suddenlink doesn't even deserve the one star. Internet is fast but usually down at least once a day. Who cares how fast it is if you can't get on. Trying to get it corrected has been a nightmare that is still ongoing. They have a monopoly and act that way. Their attitude is "if you don't like it, go somewhere else". BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY I WOULD BEG YOU TO READ ALL REVIEWS HERE AND OTHER REVIEW SITES. Customer service is obnoxious, rude and ruthless. There is NO WAY to talk to a live person who speaks English if you have a problem. They will sell you HD TV and High Speed internet and they are NOT ABLE to provide either. Highest TV transmission speed I could get was 720P when I was sold 4K, Internet was down more than it was up. Overbilled for services, promised a VISA gift card for switching then never sent one. When I disconnected service with them after 3 months, they made it very difficult to switch. Said it would take 30 days to disconnect service and would have to bill for that time even when I switched to other provider. No customer service, terrible connection speeds and down more than they were up. I cannot warn anyone strong enough to stay away from this company at all cost. There are many other alternatives to internet and TV that are much less expensive to have to put up with the kind of hell this company will put you through. Also, since disconnecting I get dozens of calls per week from them trying to sell me their produces. read more

I was on auto pay with Suddenlink- They have NEVER been easy to work with and I find their service is often down and extremely slow at times-but live in small town and not many options for internet. I have a chornic illness and try to link all my bills to autopay because I am often quite sick. I had thought I had all my autopays linked directly to my bank acct. But for some reason this 1 got linked to a credit card which 2 mths ago switched my card #. I didn't even think about it because my mother had a stroke and open heart surgery right at this time. I have NEVER missed a payment before- There was no phone call or email and I had not checked the billing as I was going through so much with my health and my mother. Was not even in my town during those 2 mths- Suddenlink was brutal-When I realized the mistake I tried to pay in full over the phone-they refused to take my payment saying I had to make cash payments at a suddenlink store for the missed payments AND same cash payments for 3 additional mths. I tried to go to management-they were as rude as the general associates. "Its not "our" fault" you didn't look at your bills. You would think as a customer in good standing they would work with me. For the love of God I was TRYING to pay the damn bill! I have NEVER missed a payment before. I currently am having difficulty walking and therefore cannot drive (MS) so had my once ever 2 wk caregiver get me to a money machine and then we went into the suddenlink store which was closed (on a Friday) and when it reopens I have NO RIDE. So apparently my service will be shut off. Shutting ME off from the World. Thanks Suddenlink. You have dismal service, your reps are rude -People if you can use ANYOTHER company do so. All I wanted was Internet. My TV viewing is via NetFlix. I went into the Suddenlink office to set it up. The customer service person was pleasant...on my first visit anyway. On a subsequent visit she turned her back to me and began shuffling papers to let me know she was done with any further discussion. To shorten the story of an adventure that no one should have to endure I will give a synapses. I live on a cul de sac, the neighbor on either side has Suddenlink. I was told that it was unavailable to my home. The several trips to find out why all ended with the Customer Service (?) person with promises that it was the construction department who needed to deal with it. I was told that I could not contact them and that they would contact me. That never happened. I talked with several field technicians they were all friendly and polite(unlike the blonde lady in the office). When a construction sub contractor was in the area I contacted them directly and was able to have a line run to my property. The installer(a sub-contractor) was pleasant and helpful) and got me hooked up. He laid the cable from the street connection to my house and told me that a crew will be out to bury the cable. Three weeks later the cable remains laying on the ground. I have had more signal interruptions in the last three weeks than in the last 5 years of my previous residence. I would advise others to go elsewhere but I her century link is worse. read more

We signed up for phone service only . . . . then the marketing calls started. Swear, as many as 9 a day (092617) and EVERYDAY. Always from 972-746-2786 Irving Tx. However, when I call to try and get them to quit I get someone with a foreign accent, I think India. This has gone on for more than 3 months. They want us to sign up for their cable TV. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET TO ANYONE TO STOP THIS, unless you sign up for call blocking, more money! Then when I call back, they say if they put me on the DNC list . . . I will NOT have access to their Customer Service division and they cannot call me back if I ask for service. WOW. So if I were you I would avoid Suddenlink forever. read more

If there was another cable company in Payson Arizona, I would definatley cancel Suddenlink. I've had nothing but problems when installing the cable tv for my mom that lives up there. My mom has had remote control problems since day one. I spent over an hour with the tech support on the phone, and it could not be fixed. Went to the store to exchange cable boxes, and it still didn't fix the problem. My last resort was to have a tech come to her house to help her. The tech was excellent, and fixed her problem at that time. We were charged $60 for the tech to come to her house. I was told by the agent from Suddenlink that I should sign up for their safeguard service, that way in the future if there was a problem there would be no charge for a tech to come assist. Well, now 4 months later, there is another problem with my moms remote control, now the agent tells me that remote control problems are not covered by safeguard. I don't live very close to Payson, so its difficult for me to assist my mom when things happen very quickly. That's why I signed up for Safeguard!! I'm so frustrated with this company, they are aweful! read more

Just got off the phone. What a hassle and poor service! Had internet in Payson, AZ and they raised the price 33% with no notice. 3 phone calls, 4 service reps, 1 escalation to manager. Said they no longer offer the service level and changed it to higher level. Finally consented to give us the next level for $5 additional to our old level, but a tortuous process. Further, their internet is poor, we have to reboot router often, frequently get bumped off with laptop and iphone. When we have guests, they can't believe we tolerate such service. If there were a reasonable alternative in this rural market, I would switch in a minute. read more

One of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I pay for my mother's service. She lives in Payson, I live out of state. I pay on the website via "auto pay." DUE TO AN SUDDENLINK ERROR, they continued to charge an expired card three months after I had changed it. In addition to the late fees (even through their own error), they have switched us to a "cash only" customer for 90 days. They (local and corporate) told me I could visit any Suddenlink location to make the payment. Today I stopped in to a location in my state to give them cash for three months. Oh...."any location" means "any location in Arizona." They won't take my payment over the phone and I cannot pay online....I have to be present with cash in a state that is a thousand miles away. I strongly recommend you find an alternative to this overpriced product that is backed by some of the most inept technology and terrible customer service. read more

I don't like to give bad reviews, but Suddenlink in Payson takes all the awards for bad service. A more unprofessional pair of 'customer service' reps, I have never seen. They were both eating lunch, kept talking and making comments to one another instead of helping customers (one at each desk and one waiting). The rep 'helping' me couldn't access her computer. After 15 minutes she realized her password had expired--or so she said. The other rep was talking with a woman who had waited all day for service and no one showed up. The rep never once offered her an apology or offered to get it rescheduled. All she said was, "ran out of time". We are new to Payson and have had nothing but positive encounters with people/businesses. From what I saw these are two of the laziest, rude, unprofessional examples of the first point-of-contact employees that you could find. By the way, we are NOT subscribing to Suddenlink. read more
