Got roast beef & cheese and the #4 Super Subworks. I regularly go to the Subworks in Colonia on St George and I'm very disappointed in this place. Easily HALF the roast beef that I get from Colonia. Bread and veggies were fine but severely cheap on the roast beef. Yes, they charge $11.69 here vs $12.49 at the Colonia store but that does not excuse the small amount they put on. Surprisingly, the #4 Super was very good. It seemed the amount of meat & cheese was good.

Sloppy joe.. It really is sloppy!

Call before you go because even though it says open until 8pm, they were closed at 6pm on a Thursday when we went.

Subs are okay at best. Absolutely not worth the wait. These are the slowest human beings in existence.

Nice place to get sandwhiches or wraps!. They have good italian roll which complements well with whipped butter. Service is ok.

Had a roast beef and turkey wrap. Just OK. Light on the meat. Just wasn't impressed. Used to be better.

excellent deli subs, but I got the chicken breast from the hot menu the other day and it was really bad. Can't complain about the price.

Shah’s Halal Food - Felafel wrap

Shah’s Halal Food

(5 reviews)

**A much-needed new gem on Oak Tree Road!**…read more Shah's Halal Food just opened in the heart of Oak Tree Road, and it's already one of my favorite quick eats in Edison! The location is perfect--super accessible and with surprisingly good parking for the area. The interiors are clean, modern, and welcoming--definitely a great spot to sit down and enjoy your meal. The service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and patient, taking time to explain all the options. I really appreciated how they customized the to-go falafel wrap to avoid soggy sauces--such attention to detail! The falafel wrap was *fresh, flavorful, and satisfying*, while my friends tried the chicken bowls and were genuinely impressed. Generous portions, tasty sauces, and good-quality ingredients all around. Pricing is reasonable, making this a solid value-for-money place. Definitely recommend Shah's Halal if you're in the area and craving something quick, tasty, and affordable! Will be coming back for sure .

Ever since then I have thought about trying it because I wondered what kind of food could have that effect on people. The food seems okay. It's really interesting that one of their sauces is a green mint chutney sauce. I think that sets it apart from other similar platter shops. Besides that, orders take a while with maybe two workers putting orders together and a lot of customers doing online pickup orders. The meat is sitting in precooked trays instead of being freshly cooked. The rice is a skinnier grain than I prefer from platter shops. Might just be me but it's the kind of rice that can't absorb the flavor from what you pair it with. Most of the flavor is coming from the sauce instead of the meat, rice or salad. I can't really excuse these faults because this is supposed to be the 100th location of this chain. It didn't taste bad, but I think there are a lot of other shops or even trucks to compare it to and I didn't think it could hold its own.

The staff: The cashier was busy playing on the cell phone instead of taking my order. The cashier then took my order and told me the amount that I need to pay and just walked away from the register to go back on the cell phone. The cashier came back 15-25 minutes later to take my cash. I told the cashier I wanted two drinks, but the cashier only charged me for one because that person was busy playing with their cell phone. I do not understand where the supervisor or manager was at this location. A line started to form here, and this cashier took long to help these customers as well. A few customers even left and stated that this was ridiculous. Pricing: The prices here are like any fast-food restaurant that comes up to $8 and up for a meal. The restaurant was clean but there were no garbage debris anywhere visible to the customers. No. 1: The 4 cheeseburgers, french fries, chicken rings, and a medium coke was what I had ordered. After consuming this food, it gave me a stomachache and I wasn't feeling good for the rest of the night. I do not believe that they cooked the food all the way as they were operating at a snail's pace. Overall: I do not recommend this location, and I would never come back here after the terrible service and the stomachache from the food.

Jose Tejas - Chicken fajitas

Jose Tejas is one of those places that proves a busy restaurant is usually busy for a reason…read more The portions are huge, the drinks are strong, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for how much food you get. We sat at the bar, ordered way too much for two people, and enjoyed every bit of it. The empanadas, which are clearly a crowd favorite, absolutely delivered, and I loved that there were vegetarian options not just for those but across the menu more broadly. That made a big difference. Yes, it's crowded, and yes, you should think about reserving before you go, but the wait is worth it. The staff was also really helpful and kept things moving despite how packed the place was. If you're in Iselin, Jose Tejas is an easy recommendation.

It was cheap, but the price wasn't ever the issue, and super tasty. The mix of Cajun and Tex mex was wonderful. Was. We drove up to visit friends, and decided to stop for old times sake, get some of the camp town shrimp, and other tasty stuff we remembered. I'll start with the vibe. I've done some reading about the aesthetics of fascism and I wonder if maybe this is just the sign of the times we live in, but gone are the fun colorful Christmas lights and the rustic, carved up dining tables. Even the waiters look boring and professional and staid in their uniforms, I can tell they aren't allowed to display any uniqueness like they used to, because there wasn't a single tattoo or piercing to be seen. The bar? Don't even get me started. It looks like it's more fun at the local Applebees. All the people sitting there looking as miserable as the newfound aesthetic of the place What did they do to this place? All the Christmas lights are bland white. The whole vibe shifted. I asked the manager on the way to the bathroom if they changed the decor and he absolutely blew off my question and didn't respond. Maybe he was afraid to. Ok, so now the food, here's the chance to make up for the unfortunate vibes. Nope. The chimichurri steak was poor quality like shoe leather, with a serving of burnt broccoli. The camp town shrimp was okay, and my husband's salmon was also substandard. The menu had shrunk, friends told us they did that because of Covid. Covid was SIX YEARS AGO BRO! Fix your restaurant. It had sad "I'm selling it to private equity" vibes. Before you know it the food will be shipped in mass produced pre-prepared and frozen, they'll get rid of cooks, and the waiter will just bring it from the microwave, like crapplebees. What an absolute shame and I haven't wrote a review in years. I can't recommend this to our friends down south who go up to visit the NY NJ area anymore! I feel like I did a disservice sending anyone there, not knowing how far it's fallen. Shame!
