(Highly recommend the falls hike). On our way, we stopped at The Point, just outside of Sweet Home. Not much to look at from the outside and kind of a diner atmosphere inside. Somewhere, I read you had a "view" to the water. As you can see from the picture, it's a view (sort of) to Foster Reservoir. OK. However, the food and service were surprisingly good! I ordered the special of the day, a Chipotle Burger. Cooked perfectly with 1/3 lb local beef patty, bacon, chipotle sauce, lettuce, red onion and accompanied by some very good fries. My wife had the grilled cheese and it was awesome as well. Her only complaint was it had too much bacon. Yes, you heard that right, too much bacon. I also have been trying NA beers and the only brand I have found I like is Deschutes out of Bend. They had a Golden that I hadn't heard of and it was, in true Deschutes fashion, very good. Our server was Becky and she was amazing. She greets the regulars by name, was very helpful and informative, but not too chatty. If we were in this area again, we would definitely go back. Maine Lobster and jumbo prawn fettuccine: surprisingly a whole tail of lobster and several big shrimp. Unfortunately the lobster is way over cooked. Feels like I'm eating rubber and stuck in my teeth. Flavor is good though. Very creamy. Marianberry cobbler: warm and sweetsour flavor. Pretty dense and good amount. A sandwich is not something I usually wax poetically about, but I will say it was memorable in all the good ways - fresh everything, well put together and the side pickle very good. This was one of the times the Yelp reviews were spot on. Glad I found this place and will make a point of eating here when passing through Cottage Grove the next time.
