Salato Deli - Margarita - fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato with balsamic on focaccia.

Salato Deli

In my review of Jon Smith Subs, I lamented the dearth of great sandwiches in the Springfield area…read more With Salato Deli opening--in the old Bada-Bing's Pizza location no less--I can absolutely say that Springfield has a phenomenal, first-class sandwich joint. Everything about Salato screams artisanal, fresh, and deliberate. The spreads for the sandwiches were brilliantly crafted and obviously handmade. The meats and cheese for my "Roamin' Italian" sandwich were carved right in front of me. The pillowy ciabatta bread crisped up beautifully in the wood-fired oven leftover from Bada-Bing's. Even the chips and fountain drinks were made with care: the chips came from local purveyor Rue Farms, while the typical Coke or Pepsi fountain was replaced with that of an independent soda company (with a very tasty black cherry soda, for what it's worth). I'm honestly struggling to come up with any real criticism for Salato Deli; the service was prompt and courteous, the food is among the best I've had in months, and the price is well within what you'd pay at any other sandwich spot. Make time to get to Salato if you're in Springfield; it's worth every red cent!

Yelp leads me to yet another delicious meal! I made a quick trip to Springfield and needed lunch. I…read morewanted takeout but not drive thru fare and saw the great reviews for Salato Deli. Parking was easy along the road downtown but my app made it a bit hard to find. It shares space with le Torte Dolci bakery. I ordered the margarita sandwich (I think that's the name) on focaccia. It was delicious and didn't make a mess like others I've had elsewhere. Everything was fresh. There were several other sandwiches I would've liked to try, I may need a return trip! The pastries on display were tempting and of course I ended up with a donut for my son as well. I wish I had more time as the area is trendy with several cute shops. Again, return trip!

Meadows Restaurant - Pork tenderloin sandwich

SEVEN WORDS: GREAT HOMETWON TASTE / COMFORT FOOD / GOOD PORTIONS…read more . Meadows Restaurant is a Destination Trip, so if you're not inspired, you may miss out - on a VERY Good Meal. Located Right on Route 40, its truly inconvenient if you're coming from the Wrong Direction. However, its really worth it to drive past it, make a U-Turn on a Busy Highway, and then turn into the uphill drive to the private parking lot. . Meadows is VERY CONVENIENT to the Nearby Antique Mall, though, so this is a GREAT DAY TRIP for anyone making the Journey. All that being said, let's talk Food! . I was feeling a little heavy from breakfast, so I opted for the Grilled Chicken Salad. My wife, ever the Pork lover, ordered the Pork Chops with 2 Sides. Our food arrived quickly - around 10 minutes - and we were pleasantly surprised with two large dishes. . My Dish, a Grilled Chicken Salad, came in a Large Chilled Salad Bowl. To be honest, not a lot of Restaurants understand the importance and sheer luxury of chilled China ware when it comes to cool dishes like salad. . The Lettuce was chopped Iceberg. Every bite was fresh and there were no clumps of lettuce that hadn't been fully separat3d before prep. The tomatoes, were hearty Roma, and the cheese was a grated Mozzarella.Four marinated and crisp grilled to near perfection. Juicy and Crisp, these Chicken Spears were a perfect. So yummy and just barely sweetened by the vinegarette marinade. I only ate half. However, gobbled up the rest as we got home. 2 meals for me. . My Wife's Grilled zporknCops came with two sides. She chose Apple Sauce and Green Beans. The Pork Chops were also well-cooked: Crispy outside, tender within. She cleaned her plate and did the same with her beans and apple sauce. Mund you, she hadn't eaten all day, so even if she eats like a 5-foot-tall farm girl, there was enough to fill most anyone. On top of that, she left appy, so there's that. . Why a 4? Location, location, Location. If you're nearby: YOU GOTTA GO. If you're not, i can't see it being a Destination you'd seek out over a place 10 miles closer to home. Sorry to the Owners, its just a small bit of bad luck.

The two bartenders thanked us for coming in and one of the employees who was arriving at work waited on us to cross the parking lot to hold the door for us and was very friendly. I never got rude vibes as others are suggesting and the service was at a good pace and done well. We have 4 prime rib dinners and they were all tempered right and everything we asked for we got. The onion rings were great the prime rib was awesome the patty melt was very good and we are already planning another trip to try more of the menu.

Better than ramen I've had in San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago or Dallas. The chili oil or sashuan oil is not as hot as I thought. Easy to eat, even if you can't tolerate much spice. Staff was super amazing. Shout out to the guy behind the bar. Rockin' beard and rockin' attitude. Easy 30-minute drive from Beaver Creek, Wright-Pat area, but so worth it.

I wasn't as surprised this time by the location in a neighborhood, something that gives it a very welcome feel and suggests with the addition of a covered outdoor porch with picnic tables that this is a good neighborhood hang. I was late for lunch, almost two but there were some folks still finishing up. Good vibe, good music and casual atmosphere. I opted for the Takoyaki app which was tasty and not so burning hot that it scorched the roof of your mouth. Also the right amount of mayonnaise as opposed to often an excess. The Ramen Flight was fun in principle but I wouldn't do it again. I unwisely and perhaps naively assumed there would be mini versions of the full serving of Tonkotsu broth with Mayo, Thai curry and Szechuan with scallions. But it really is just the broth and ramen. Expected the Szechuan to have some heat and peppery lip buzz but did not. The Thai curry was super salty. Just missed some option of veggies and protein. Finally I would suggest not sitting near the front near the stairs to the kitchen. The spot has competing music soundtracks with two different play lists battling between your two ears.
