The flavor is no different than any subway unless you believe in care for your food translating to taste. Everything I order here I can tell that they really care about making your food which makes it take a little longer but if I'm on my lunch break I just order ahead on the app. Very clean place, my first choice even if I'm over next to the one in the Walmart. read more

Horrrrible service! I work in the service industry and never ever eveeer complain but this time I had to! 'Arnold' or so he says his name is, wouldn't let me order 3 sandwhiches and 2 salads due to it being 'too big of an order'! There was NO one else in the store. Also he had no hat on and long hair he was willing to make me the sandwhiches but said i would have to order the salads online? I don't get why he wouldn't just make them knowing he had no other people inside and he'd end up making it anyways? He said he was going to be closing early that night so I assume he just didn't want customers! Super frustrating and will never give this subway my service again!!!! Super lazy store that never has the bread done (always out of something), never has fresh tuna (always left over from previous day), and never has the correct labels on their sauces (mix and match). Save yourself the stomach problems and go to Board and Brew or Jersey Mikes. I should've know not to eat the sandwich once I saw the wilted brown lettuce that they threw on it. Not sure what I expected walking into a subway but left and got food poisoning later that day. Worst sickness I've ever had lasting 48 hours. Either save yourself or don't get lettuce. read more

Terrible service. The lady that works on Tuesday mornings should not work in any food services industry. She was to lazy to make me a gluten free wrap. She told me they don't have gluten-free bread but it was advertised right above her head that they do have gluten free bread. Then she said she had it but couldn't make me a breakfast wrap on that kind of bread. I left and went to the other subway on Pico and he was very nice and had no problem making me a breakfast wrap on gluten free bread. read more

I've been going to this Subway for a couple years. Always meet the owner on site making sure everything is running smoothly for us -. -He cares about the freshness and the product going to us. He always greets me with "How have you been" or "I have missed you" :) They have a large following for a Subway restaurant, even on weekends. I had a great experience tonight, didn't start out that way, but the owner/manager hopped in to make it so. I have been here once before and he made my salad that time as well, very personable and chipper. Tonight, I ordered a tuna salad and the first "Sandwich Artist" mumbled, "We're out of bowls..." the owner was wiping tables and asked what I had asked for, I told him, he assured me that he could take care of it. My hunny's pastrami sandwich was said to be delicious, the tuna salad in the make shift bowl (two lids taped together) was perfect. The owner was very funny and engaging and I have had yummy food twice in a clean atmosphere (parking lot sucks and the staff needs to kick it up a notch) but as long as the mgr is there, this is great! read more

The owner really makes it a great experience, but it's days like today- Saturday around noon when you get a sandwich artist who needs to go back to sandwich school. It's clear that "J" doesn't like his job. He makes it his way putting 100% of the condiments in the bread fold and the pastrami on the opposite side. Finally, He slid my sandwich across the counter with a groan and walked in the back and disappeared the rest of our visit. The friendly older guy who seems to own the place---and if he doesn't, he should---is one of the shining stars of customer service in San Clem. I started coming here months ago when I first moved to town, and he was warm and welcoming, and shared with me some of the best places to go and enjoy the ocean views. He's been that way ever since, and I have become a regular. Food-wise, pretty much what you'd expect---Subway is pretty standard---but they are generous with the ingredients, and the shop is always clean and comfortable. The service from everyone else is good, too, and FAST. But it's the owner/manager who makes this a must-stop if you need some quick grub on a trip up or down the coastline. Typical Subway but the young staff needs some leadership. After getting our subs, my 10 year old and I sat down. 3 mins later incredibly offensive music came over the speakers in the dining area. I'm not an uptight parent: this was littered with f-bombs and "N" words. When I went back to suggest that they put on something more appropriate, the shift lead said "we didn't know you were there". Ok, so you were unaware that we were there (problem #1) and what if a family of 5 walks in with a bunch of kids and gets bombarded by that (problem #2)? Clueless. read more

Went to this Subway about a week ago and ordered a salad. Something about it did not taste right, called to explain my situation and it seems like no one including the owner and manger do not care. I always have a good time getting my sandwich made at this south San Clemente Subway. Today, I went in. Josie made me a beautiful sandwich, just like a professional cook. As always, the bread was fresh and the workers were polite. After finishing one sandwich, I went back in and bought another. Thank you for the fresh food. A whole lot of nope to this subway location. We usually go to the one off Pico, but stopped here because it was closer. I walk in and there is one couple in front of me. A man was sitting at a table, gets up, gives me an awkward "hi" and walks outside. I start to order and the man, who I'm guessing is friends with the employees, is standing in the doorway of the restaurant, smoking a cigarette, and talking to everyone behind the counter. It's nice to have friends, sure, they make the day go faster, but the professionalism here was zero. They were talking over me to talk to him. I had to remind the girl 3 times that we'd ordered cookies. The 2nd time finally made her charge us for them, the 3rd time (not 30 seconds later) I had to remind her to actually get them for us before she walked off. We finally get sandwiches and pay. We got a drink so we move toward the soda machine. An older man is standing in front of the machine, so I say "excuse me". He proceeds to scoot over and I tell him thank you, but he's still scooting. I tell him he's fine and doesn't need to move anymore. He then replies back to me "well you aren't so bad yourself". If I hadn't had my kid with me, I would have torn him a new one. On my way out, the random guy who's been hanging out gives me another loud "HI!!". Rude, unprofessional and immature business. read more
