I've been to a lot of Subway locations, but this one stands out. The store is always clean, the ingredients are fresh, and the team behind the counter truly cares. I came in during the lunch rush and was impressed with how quickly the line moved without sacrificing quality. The sandwich artist (yes, they've earned the title!) took the time to ask if I wanted my veggies layered or mixed, gave me the perfect amount of sauces, and wrapped it up neatly--no soggy mess when I opened it. Don't get a chip and drink from here. The drink machine doesn't dispense enough syrup. Chips are less than an ounce. Not worth $3.59. There is a Circle K nearby. Also, sandwiches are more bread than filling. So, I only come here for only deals. read more

I love Subway. I was a supervisor at one of the nicer ones for longer than I care to admit. But basicly the food is the same for the most part at all Subway stores. Some stores more generous than others and except for the freshness of the bread it's basicly all the same really good sammies. I ran one I consider to be one of the cleaner ones. Consistently. Apparently so did the health department. I took pride in how clean mine was. Yay me! Then one afternoon on Saturday Dec 12, 2020 I walked into this one . I swear the 'God's Of Cleanliness and Picture Perfect Presentation' sent down their angels as the trumets played and angels sung. This place was right out of an advertisement. Even the tomatoes looked ad campaign perfect. Who finds food that beautiful in the real world? Not me, that's for sure. You literally could have eaten off the floor and germs wouldn't be an issue in the least . Too clean. I felt I should have taken off my shoes before entering. The food was great but thats to be expected. The little Spanish lady who spoke broken English was great too. But like I gushed already, the CLEANLINESS and PRESENTATION were outstanding! Everytime I come here my sandwich's are pretty skimpy. Cheap owner I guess. Today I came on for sliders but the rude young man who looked like. The Lead guy was rude and would not even put oil and vinegar on my sliders or lettuce instead of spinach wow. I've eaten in many subways and never had this problem now I have a sandwich I don't even want and a rude attitude to go with it. Screw this place I'll never spend one more penny here. I love everything about this store: it's location, the parking opportunities, the gleaming cleanliness of the store and the cheerful staff. Subway has been making changes to their menus by introducing a preset menu option wherein the sandwiches haven't disappointed. The #4 is a meat forward Italian sub, I don't change or modify a thing and I've found my current new fixation meal. The patio seating option is also a a huge benefit to this location. I was at the Dana Point Car and Motorcycle show, all along Del Prado Avenue, when I realized the convenience and vantage point the subway seating could provide. I asked for a 6 inch cold cut combo, the lady put a thin layer of Bologna, when I told her that it had other ingredients too, she snapped at me and said very upset voice, no this is it. This Subway is on the PCH in beautiful Dana Point. It's on the side of the road up a slight hill, with a large parking lot. The staff is not very attentive. I came in and asked for a turkey and ham on wheat, no cheese, no mayo, but add everything else. I was thinking, this is a good cheap snack like meal while I am driving between LA and San Diego, not too filling to make me sleepy, and it only cost $3.89 (for a six inch) Then I went to the bathroom to clean up before eating. When I returned, the girl asked if I wanted the "make it a meal" deal, which is adding a bag of chips and medium drink. I said yes, as she already had the sandwich made and in the bag. I get my chip and drink, paid$8.38 (thinking why is this so much?) But I was in a hurry to hit the road, so I left and started out. I look inside the bag, and it is a foot long sandwich, on wheat, with mustard, and nothing else. NO lettuce, onions, olives, dressing sauce, peppers, salt or pepper. What would Jared do? Worst Subway I have ever been to. Rude employees and terrible customer service. The guy helping me by the name Manuel was an atrocity in the customer service department. I asked for a sandwich a specific way and he made it his way throwing in tons of pickles. I hate pickles! When advised that my order was incorrect he shrugged and said "oh well"! I spent 10.91 on a steak and cheese sandwich that went right in the trash because this employee couldn't or didn't care to do his job right. Hey Manuel if you hate your job so much then quit. Went here to get the Pastrami Melt after seeing the delicious presentation during Sunday football. The meat and cheese are bursting out of the bun, the pickles peeking out from under the mound of pastrami. I told them I wanted it just like the picture. They kept asking "you want onions? You want lettuce? No i want it like the picture Got the sandwich home, unwrapped it and it looked like an empty bun. No Pastrami bursting out, no melting cheese oozing down the bread. Had to open it to make sure they didn't give me the empty side of the bun. Never never again. Never have the words "you get what you pay for" rang so true. read more

I went in yesterday (7/21/18) around 1:45 to get a small veggie delight. I was not greeted, 3 young men behind the sandwich counter, not trained on service or being friendly(blame is on the owner). Note to the owner: Young staff have to be trained, since they don't have any experience. The owner(I assume) was on her break. First time at this Subway and the food was not fresh. I went at about 10:30am so it is normal (although not ideal) for the bread to be from the day before (which was obvious by the taste). However I inquired about the cookies. There were only a handful of cookies in the display which led me to believe they were from the day before. I asked if they were baked fresh today and was told "yes". I didn't really believe them, but got the cookies anyway and they were in fact old. Piece of advice to owner: people like fresh food. You use the word "fresh" in your advertising, yet the bread and cookies were not fresh. I understand the bread takes a while to be ready, but cookies come out of a box in your freezer and are baked and ready to go in probably 10-12 minutes. Piece of advice # 2: Don't lie to your customers. My other complaint about Subway is how they have reduced the amount of meat on a sandwich. This happened a while ago and this is not specific to this particular Subway, but all of them. I used to work at a Subway in college and still remember how much meat we used on each sandwich, and it's definitely gone down. Sandwiches are really bready now. read more
