I went here yesterday on Friday 6/26, we got the family style for 3, I loved the chow mein, the spring rolls, and the crispy chicken dumplings were also so good! I ordered three dishes on my two visits: Orange Chicken, Thai Basil Cashew Chicken, and Tofu Vegetables. I thought the Thai Basil Cashew Chicken was the best with a nice balance of flavors. (Although having lived in Thailand, it definitely wasn't Thai food.) The Tofu vegetables was also good. The Orange Chicken, though, was a bit of a miss. Not much orange flavor and the chicken was on the soggy side. The food is solid although without the spice levels that Asian food should have. The portion sizes are huge and are good value. Just started using DoorDash, and my first official order was from Pick Up Stix. The ordering process? Simple and straightforward. Delivery? Timely and without issues. But the food? Everything else ranged from disappointing to borderline inedible. The chow mein was just... wrong. It was sweet. Chow mein shouldn't be sweet! It tasted more like a bad pad thai, and to make matters worse, the noodles were mushy. The Mongolian Beef? Over-salted to the point of being practically inedible. The Orange Chicken had a weird aftertaste I couldn't put my finger on. The fried rice was your average, nothing-to-write-home-about kind. And then there were the missing brownies. I'd ordered them for dessert but they never arrived. As a first-time DoorDash user, I wasn't sure what to do - but I found the "missing item" option in the app, and within a few taps, the cost was refunded to my card. So props to DoorDash for that. First of all, the food was excellent. No complaints there so I am really sad to have to write this. The name of the business is Pick Up Stix. You pick up the food to go. It's wonderful. My complaint is the customer service. We called for over 15 minutes to try and order food to go. We got off the freeway and called all the way to the restaurant and no one answered. My husband had the phone ringing when he walked in. There was not a ton of activity. There was not a line at the counter. The response when he asked the young woman why she didn't answer his call? "I am too busy." He told her the phone was ringing now. Her response? She turned it off at the switch. No apology. Nothing. So a business that survives based on the amount of food it sells has an employee that turns the phone off so she can't hear it. I am a manager of a business and I can tell you that if I ever read a review like this about one of my staff, they would no longer have a job. The food is excellent. The service at this location is horrible! I needed a quick dinner on Friday May 3rd after working until 8pm and I thought this would be the place to go. Granted I went in at 8:30 and didn't realized they closed in 30 minutes. The woman who rang me up was super rude, giving me dirty looks and was super angry with me. She rang me up and literally my food was done in 2 minutes, so I know it wasn't fresh. I got home and there was barely any chicken and barely any sauce, I ordered the bourbon chicken with brown rice. I understand they were getting reading to close, but I was a paying customer and deserve to be treated with respect and served fresh food like any other Customer during any hour of the day.
