The cheddar scallion bagel with regular cream cheese was light, flavorful, and had just the right amount of crisp on the outside. I also had the Meemers BLT on a margarita bagel, which was absolutely delicious. For drinks, I ordered the Cookie Butter Cold Brew with cold foam and the Banana Bread Latte with caramel and cold foam. Both were incredible and packed with flavor. (I usually don't even like cold brew) From the exceptional service to the outstanding food and drinks, everything exceeded my expectations. There is a sandwich board in the parking lot next to the employee entrance with the days sandwich options. The shop is small with seating for about ten people. Most of the traffic during our visit was take away. Order counter is on the left with the menu board overhead and available bagels in bins. Place your order and pay, then pick up at the next counter. No paper receipts, but you can have one emailed. For coffee orders, staff will add the milk of your choice, or you can add cream and sweetener at a table to the right of the pick up area. This table also has drink lids, napkins and stir sticks. Online orders are left on shelves by the door for quick and easy pick up. Staff here are very friendly. The bagel selection is creative. I had a jalapeno and havarti cheese bagel with cream cheese. The flavor of the bagel was just right. The cream cheese is very smooth and there was plenty on there. The bagels are a respectable size. Any bigger would be too big imho. The texture is dense with a pleasant chew. I couldn't tell the bagels were sour dough, maybe because of the jalapeno. My SO got themselves a Hot Boi on a prosciutto bagel. To say it was very much enjoyed is probably a bit of an understatement. It was pretty much inhaled and then expounded on in detail. So yes, it was a hit. We both had a Dave's drip coffee which is very smooth. They offer a variety of coffee drinks and seasonal specials are listed on the menu. They all sound amazing. The American bistro with a weekly-changing menu soon won numerous awards and accolades. By 2024, the couple opened a new restaurant in the Velvet Mill. This time they would focus on artisanal wood-fired sourdough pizza as well as sandwiches, salads, and other delicious treats. Named for the "back door" of the Velvet Mill, the pizzeria soon won its own accolades. My sons and I recently had lunch at Back Door. I've visited the Velvet Mill numerous times, but this was my first visit since Back Door opened. After looking of the menu, we all decided to order and share the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce, EVOO) and the "CBR" (house ranch, bacon, chicken, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, everything spice, lemon, dill). After ordering, we picked a table right by the pick-up window so we could watch the kitchen crew at work. Both pizzas had great crust that was crispy on the outside and yet chewy on the inside.
