We went to Watch Hill to enjoy the day and decided that we would try out Graze Burgers. Seeing that burgers are one of my all time favorite foods, I want about to pass up this opportunity.Their friendly curbside service was awesome, as was their delicious food. The mushroom Swiss burger was a perfect medium rare and completely loaded with flavor. Probably one of the best burgers that I have ever had. Everything from the bun to the beef to the mushrooms and cheese, all top notch. The onion rings were lightly breaded and crispy. Delicious on their own, but even better with their dipping sauce. I visited Graze Burger for dinner for the RI Food Fights burger competition. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant. The inside is beautiful. I love the wood furniture and the finishing throughout the restaurant. There is always 80s music playing, and it totally fits the scene! I chose the Graze Burger The burger came with cheddar, lettuce, tomato and graze sauce. The patty is flat/thin but not squished. It is a smaller patty than your average burger places. The patty isn't juicy, but tastes fresh from the organic meat. The Graze Sauce on the burgers is similar to thousand island dressing with a twist. It's a sweeter sauce and I really enjoy it! On a previous visit, I tried their crispy chicken sandwich and it's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. A huge crispy chunk of meat on the soft bun was a perfect match. It also gives with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and buttermilk herb aioli. I would drive from anywhere in RI for this sandwich. Graze Burgers also started seeing Cereal milk soft serve. I am a big fan of their custard shakes, and they use the custard for the soft serve too. The soft serve is definitely sweet from the custard base. The first time, there was a young man locking up 20 minutes before the posted closing time of 8:00 p.m. So today we made sure to arrive in plenty of time. Located at the old Cumberland Farms on Granite Street. No issue with parking here. I liked the seating arrangement. Booths along the wall. Some 2 seater tables. Some 4 seaters. I don't think that you can move tables around to accommodate larger parties. Sierra, at the counter, was very nice. The place had mostly adult employees; no teens. But it could have been the time of the day (noon ish). I ordered a bacon burger, crispy chicken sandwich, chocolate custard shake, Maine organics fountain soda, and large fries. After paying, they give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready. I placed my order at 11:55 and got the food 12:07. Meh. Not terrible. So my burger. 2 long strips of bacon. Adding bacon adds $1. No issue there. The brioche bun was soft and pillowy. It was kinda greasy tho. Who ever was handling the burger must have had greasy gloves. The patty was kinda on the hard side. I thought it was due to GRAZE using all of the cuts of beef, so maybe it wasn't that tender. They say on the website that it will be a leaner burger. But I don't know. Maybe was over done. The GRAZE sauce is kind of like a Thousand Island dressing. Lettuce and tomato on top. Sadly, no pickle. I love my pickles! I also would have liked onions but it wasn't displayed that it was an option. Not much salt added, if any. Hubby's crispy chicken had lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles. His bun was not greasy at all. The chicken was nothing to write home about. He wasn't impressed but I noted how it TASTED like a processed chicken patty. But it was REAL meat. Deliciously creamy. I let it just melt on my tongue and it was heavenly. The cup is on the small side. And it gets topped with whipped cream (I would have opted out if I was asked). Even though I usually opt out whipped cream, there's something about fresh, lightly sweetened whipped cream. It's almost salty and savory. Hubby got the soda cup which comes with free refills. ($3). They serve Maine Organics soda here. Flavors: mexicane cola (it was delicious), ginger ale (also delicious. It has a zing to it), orange, vanilla (cream soda), root beer, and a lemon-lime. Paper straws with a lid with a straw hole OR you can get the straw-less lids (think: hot coffee cup lid) Food was served on a small but very sturdy metal tray with a generous rim. I could hold all the food on the tray in one hand. And still be able to grab napkins, straws, etc with the other hand. No wobble or anything. All of the foods seemed to be served with compostable/recyclable materials. Even the condiment cups. WTG! By the garbage, there was also a slot for compost items and recyclable. I think there should be a sign/sticker that shows what's allowed in the garbage and what should go in the recycle slot. Like I wasn't sure if the paper straw should have went into recycling. I didn't get to order it but they serve the Impossible Burger here. When the Impossible Burger first came out, it wasn't served in many places. I ate it at a hipster restaurant in New York City. I think the burger was about $13 (without fries). My teenage sons each had a vegan/vegetarian girlfriend. So most of us ordered it. It strangely, tasted and felt like meat. I wasn't prepared for it!!! The burger even seemed to have a subtle "blood" ooze out after every bite. But it was vegan!!! Mind blowing!! The "blood" is due to some wizardry with heme. The Impossible Burger is only $9 here. All in all this place is quite pricy. But it's like grocery shopping in the organic section. Sure you can get the same item, at a fraction of the price. But people who are buying/eating organic put the price on health, sustainability, ethics etc much higher. read more
