2nd review. This place is friggin delicious!!! I absolutely love and look forward to coming to Noble Smokehouse when I am visiting Connecticut. The food is absolutely amazing and full of great smoke and BBQ flavors. The staff is always friendly and very accommodating when there are questions or kids. Very family friendly, kids can color on the butcher paper table cloths while they are waiting for food! If you have ever been to a Southern smokehouse, Noble is set up in a very similar fashion. Go give them a try when visiting Mystic, I promise you will be happy you did.

Ate here twice it was super close to the Amtrak station. Portions were huge and everything was tasty - we all shared a bunch of meats (brisket, chicken, ribs) plus a whole array of sides. We even got their delicious nachos to go for the train ride.

When you think of barbecue, Mystic, CT probably doesn't jump to the front of your mind. Likewise- when you think of Mystic, CT, barbecue certainly doesn't come to mind either. But alas, Noble Smokehouse is changing that for me. Tucked away on the Stonington side of the river, outside of the hustle and bustle, Noble has quickly become my go-to option if I find myself in that neck of the woods. If you know Mystic, you know that it can be a whole ~thing~ to go there for a meal. Noble, however, is in the perfect spot if you don't feel like dealing with the chaos. Do they have a water view? No, but that's not what you're coming here for. Every time I've gone, I've been able to find parking easily, I've never had to wait for a seat, and every meal I've eaten here has knocked my socks off. My fast favorite is the hot pastrami sandwich. Hands down the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. The pork belly burnt ends are also can't miss. They have a good selection of local beer to go with your meal, and the service is always very friendly and prompt. Rumor has it they are opening a place in downtown New London, which I am very excited for. Until then, I will gladly make the trek to Mystic for a meal here. It's well worth it!

Had been craving BBQ and this place hit the spot. Very friendly server and food was amazing. They have a really good variety of sauces to choose from. There's a small outdoor seating area that is dog friendly.

Awesome reliable spot for some good BBQ. I got the chicken quesadillas, the platter with a choice of 2 meats (brisket, ribs), 2 sides (baked potato, brisket mac n cheese), and 2 sauces (maple, chilli), and the pork belly burnt ends. The chicken quesadillas were great, plethora of chicken and cheese, topped with chopped green onion. The taste leans into its American pallet (think burgers, fourth of July realness, less Mexican) and manages to do it well without tasting lazy. I'd recommend this if you're not necessarily looking for authenticity, but more for a good, flavorful and hearty lunch. The pork belly burnt ends were quite disappointing. While I realize the name had "burnt ends", I didn't realize they would cook it to the point where the meat had an essentially rubbery texture, yet somehow gaining hardness in some areas where it attacks your gums. The flavor was the saving grace, very savory, and some leftover fat on the meat counteracts the dryness of the overall dish. If you're into the texture, I recommend pairing it with the chili sauce they offer on their menu, but note that the sauce is quite spicy. The platter was the main event of the whole thing. The brisket was nice and tender, yet not soggy. The sauce on top was classic BBQ, but will pair well with other sauces if need-be. The ribs were delicious, falling off the bone delicately, followed by a deep, rich flavor that only comes with a minimum length of time in cooking. The brisket mac and cheese was not heavy, but skims mildly on the cheese, relying more on the brisket for taste. Service was very polite, and the food arrived within 25 minutes, with absolutely no rush to order. The place had a very by-the-beach vibes in decoration, complimented with large, surrounding windows, with quiet old country music in the background.

Prepare for a food coma. But seriously though, this is some legit barbecue in the middle of the northeast and it makes my southern-born husband smile. It's a small joint right next to the Amtrak station, which would be easy to overlook if it wasn't for so many cars consistently parked there in hopes of finding a seat. The staff in there are constantly hustling to make sure the food is delivered as quickly as possible so that you can commence your delicious march into a food coma.

I ordered the bbq pork belly, and my god, it was exceptional. The pork belly was so tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the corn grits and sauce. I loved it so much that it was painful to offer bites to the other folks I was eating with. We also ordered the deviled eggs, which seemingly had horseradish in them? Wish that was included in the menu description because that's not my favorite flavor. And also had the hush puppies with jalapeño butter. I think the honey butter option is better, but this one wasn't bad.

The hostess was friendly and our server came by to take drink orders. We were waiting on a few others and that presented no problems at all. They have a great selection when it comes to brunch, breakfast items, lunch items, you name it. Also, they are flexible with orders. My wife asked for a Caesar with romaine vs kale; no problem at all. I went with the Fried Fish Sandwich. Both were excellent! You can tell the food here is local; and not brought in from any of the big national distributors. Service was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the inside vibe and decor. A great spot in Mystic!

The Mariner is the platonic ideal of a seaside restaurant…read more They have the nautical decor nailed. They have the super friendly service down (shout out to Jennifer P). They have the seafood-laden, high-quality menu, and the scratch kitchen is executing everything at a very high level. We shared the bangin' mussels (a lager-based broth instead of white wine, with excellent flavor and tender, fresh bivalves), some raw oysters to start (fresh enough they didn't need a thing), a bowl of the best clam chowder I can remember having, a pretty affordable (comparatively so at $32) and delicious lobster roll, and some brussels sprouts for our health. Everything was well done, including the fresh chicken fingers for my kid that only eats chicken fingers and fries, along with a homemade honey mustard that hit the spot for me. The only thing I might wish they had is outdoor seating with a view of the water, but it was raining when we were there anyway so we didn't miss it this time around.

We tried the creole seafood chowder which was very flavourful and amazing esp on a cold stormy night ( which it was when we went )! Highly recommend! I also tried the hot lobster roll served with coleslaw and fries . Which again was very fresh and amazing esp! Highly recommend! And we also ordered the side of brussel sprouts to share and again everything was great ! I also enjoyed my tropical sangria ! Felt like I was somewhere warm and not in the middle of a rain storm ! Finally for dessert I got the bread pudding !! The presentation 10/10 , the flavours 10/10 and the waitress recommended a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side and it's a MUST !! Sooo good !! Best bread pudding I have ever had !!! Amazing food ! Great staff and great location in mystic !! Can't wait to be back !

Fairly busy Sunday afternoon but we were quickly seated at the raw bar with a great view of the kitchen, which BTW is a well oiled machined and fun to watch, not quite as crazy as the Bear, but impressive. Tuna tartar to start followed by some delicious cherrystones then we split the Mussels in coconut milk with lemon grass and cilantro and some amazing sour dough bread for dipping. 10/10!!!

We had the request in the notes of our reservation, so it's a shame they didn't have it set up for us when we walked in or at least upon sitting down. There's no kids menu, and the regular menu is very limited if you have a child with a food allergy. My son has an egg allergy, and there were barely any options for him. There wasn't even a simple chicken option on the menu. We ultimately settled on a grilled cheese because it was essentially the only thing that worked, and no one offered to modify something or suggest another option that could accommodate him. The service overall wasn't particularly attentive, which made the limited options even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the food itself also didn't live up to the hype for us. I understand not every restaurant caters specifically to families, but a little more attentiveness and willingness to accommodate a child with a food allergy would have gone a long way. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for families with young kids or dietary restrictions.
