Honestly, DPI ended up being one of the last places we visited because the reviews weren't quite as strong. After going a couple of times over the past few months, we can confidently say that was a mistake. DPI has hands-down been the best dining experience we've had in Mystic. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the food was outstanding both times, and the waitstaff were fantastic. Everything about the experience felt welcoming and well done. DPI is a real gem and we're so glad it's part of the Mystic community. We're especially looking forward to spending time at the pub this summer. A big thank you to the chefs and staff for consistently delivering such a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

The building itself is gorgeous with thick beams and great finishes. It's a beautiful place even if it is a little tight. With that said, we had a party of 10 and had reservations in advance. Parking is always tricky, but we got a good spot in the lot and were very happy. The wait for the table was maybe 10 minutes which was not too bad. The waitress was very good and she took care of our water, drinks, and bread right away. The place was busy but we really were pleased with the service! I ordered the fish and chips. Most of the table ordered a steak, veggie, and mashed potatoes. Truffle fries was the appetizer that landed on my end of the table. They were not my favorite. Those who had the steak seemed happy with the meal. Both of us who had the fish and chips were not happy with the meal. We had fish and chips at Steak Loft the night before- and they did not compare. They were perfect. The order I had at Daniel Packard were heavy and filling but I was missing the light tempura batter, the crunch and soft fresh fish, and the great tartar sauce that is the standard for fish and chips! I didn't take my leftovers which is not the norm for me. I'll swing by in the winter for a pint in front of the fire no doubt, but I think another dinner is not in my future.

The owner served us and made a couple of very good sandwiches generously filled with ingredients. He even suggested a sauce we're never tried for one of the sandwiches and he was right! The food is -- well, if you've been to Subway you know what it is -- but ours was good and fresh and the service very amiable. No problems.

Have also gotten sick soon after eating at this location and attributed it to food from this location. Upon arriving noted that there were tables and chairs set up haphazardly outside. These were standard Subway furnishings that were not weather resistant and had severely delaminated. Our town also regulates outside seating fairly strictly so I would be surprised of any permitting by franchise to allow for outdoor seating. Upon entering a number of hand printed signs in the establishment include "Coupons not accepted", "No Bathroom" (in violation of state law) and "Customers must pay for food" and contribute to the overall poor representation of the Subway brand. Purchased a roughly $13 double-meat, chicken breast footlong sandwich and included a 15% tip at cash out. Cashier neglected plastic gloves when moving the sandwich from the prep counter to arrange it on a tray. Asked for a cup of water and was told I would have to pay for a coffee. Woman behind the counter refused to give me tap water even though I explained it was public health best practice as to avoid any potential choking hazard and resultant liability.

With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.
