Not bad but I'm not a big subway fan to begin with. This one's OK. They make a good cold cut grinder and the prices are nice and affordable so it makes good takeout if your trying to save some cash. They seem to use very good ingrediants on their grinders and I like the taste of the Olive Oil they use. Can't speak to eating here as I have only gone to Subway for takeout. read more

Extremely rude service from the owner who was making the sandwich. He was very disgruntled and rude when I asked about additional items that I would have liked on the order. I will not return to this establishment in the future. And instead will drive the extra five minutes to Jersey Mikes to place any future cold cut sandwich orders. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. We would frequent the Monroe Subway often. Today was out last day! My husband had to ask the owner to changes his gloves on more than one occasion after handling money. Today he gave my husband attitude saying you asked me that last time you were here and are you going to wash your hands before you eat your sandwich? Then he wouldn't let it go. Just rude!! read more

There was a time when Subway meant good food and good service. The Monroe Turnpike Subway is the worst. I picked up sandwiches for my kids and he thought I said steak. My kids don't eat steak. I corrected and repeated my order. He began to argue with me that I said steak. Finally I said, "What difference does it make? You know I don't want steak. Can we move on or should I go to another subway?" When handing me my order he repeated "you said steak". I will NEVER go to that store ever again. read more

Subway - Crappy sandwich - Sandwiches Near Me - Monroe, Connecticut

Will give zero stars. My app order when I got it home was incorrect. I called the store and the owner was rude and I tried to explain my order was wrong he said I can text you your receipt. I explained I had a receipt and my order was incorrect. He said too bad you got a free sub buy one get one so too bad and hung up on me. I drove to store and showed him the sub and he did not apologize and just mocked me. I demanded a new one as he proceeded to scrape off items from original sub. He continued to mock be and kept saying you got one for free anyway so too bad. Also he told me to never come back which is fine I did not plan on giving such a rude individual my business anyway. I have read other reviews where customers have had similar experiences at the Monroe Turnpike Subway and complaints of owner being rude and also not receiving proper orders. Not a pleasant experience and will be happy to go to the subway in Newtown to give my business. Learn to spread a little kindness you mean old man. Surprised you still are in business with such disrespect to your customers...... read more

The owner here is a bitter old man. I ordered BLTs with extra vegetables using a BOGO code and he (who self-identified as the owner) took it upon himself to berate me for ordering my sandwich the way I did and told me I better not do it again. This took up at least 1 or 2 minutes. He said it's "a BLT, bacon lettuce and tomato." He told me next time employees would likely cancel my order for the way it's ordered; I've had the same order and structure for more than ten years. I get home and the subs (that he confirmed he made) are both significantly less filled than sandwiches I've gotten *without* specifying extra veggies. read more

Service was terrible and the old man behind the counter was bitter. He called my friend and I slurs because we were gay because he couldn't comprehend a simple question about our orders. That man needs to be fired and the subway shut down. read more

Just went to Monroe, CT's subway today on June 6th, 2025, around 12pm and this older gentleman had the illest attitude with me and was getting snarky, and condescending with me all while being sarcastic and rude. He needs to fix his attitude bc I almost exploded on him but I kept my composure but I got the time today to make a complaint. Fix your attitude old man and get with the times. You're lucky I'm on a job, and on the go. read more

RUDE worker, Components don't look fresh when you ask about how fresh the components are you get a nasty remark This location also doesn't put enough components in the sandwich, its mostly all bread, when you ask for more, they will tell you " its enough" and ignore you. when I was rung up and saw the higher cost for what I was getting I almost said you keep it, I need better for my money and walk out you have to ask him to bag your sandwich and also for the receipt? Pricing is about $2.00 plus higher then other stores, DO NOT GO read more

This was our 2nd time trying this location and both times we were really disappointed. We ordered 2 tuna melts and there was hardly any tuna in the sandwich.. it was mostly just bread.. AND it was $26!! read more

When I asked for extra veggies I was told I had enough and then I asked for extra VINEGAR and he told me the bottle was empty-the bottle was 3/4 full and he was Incredibly Rude. I asked him if he was the owner and he said yes I said I figured and left. The Worst service I have had at any food establishment anywhere in the World. If you don't believe me please try it yourself and make sure you leave feedback. Good Luck Alan R read more

Stopped in for a quick sandwich. The woman behind the counter was amazingly sweet, but the owner stepped out to help Us. I asked him if the bathroom was locked or if somebody was in there and he told me "I don't know I just got here" with an attitude. I placed the order for a sandwich, and he proceeded to make it without asking any questions. When he finished, he said is that all and my husband said no I'd like to order one too, which he replied "you should've told me "he was standing right next to me when I ordered mine. he continued with the attitude and my husband commented "customer service zero " to which the guy replied "if you don't like my customer Service then leave the store and I won't make your sandwich ". Then got more agitated, so my husband yelled at him, and the man replied, cursing him out and telling us we had to leave. Words went back-and-forth and the owner said "you little white dog go bark somewhere "the poor woman behind the counter was so sweet, but she looked like she was used to his behavior. If he is at the counter, when you walk in the store, I walk away I've never experienced such an embarrassment of an owner yelling at someone in the store, as loud as he was, and then continue to come out from the back of the store to continue, his rant. Zero stars for the owner 10 stars for the employee who helped us. read more

I can't get over how rude this manager guy is. Completely awful. They are super cheap with the veggies. And when you ask for more he chastised you and tells you it's enough. I said no I really would like more. Again no. It's unbelievable. The woman behind me asked for extra sauce on her meatballs and he told her no it would be too messy. She insisted she wanted more. He literally told her know in an incredibly rude manner. I don't know how he is allowed to represent this franchise. I have give this place quite a few chances but will never go back as long as he's there. Who needs to be abused for buying an overpriced sandwich? Not me. read more

Subway - This was my veggie sandwich. Super skimpy. Asked for more lettuce was told no. - Sandwiches Near Me - Monroe, Connecticut

Ordered 2 veggie subs and got less veggies than if I ordered ones with meat. I'm literally eating bread. What an awful location.

if you want bread that is so stale that you can't even bite into it, then go here!! i asked for lettuce and tomato on my sandwich and i have 1 tomato and maybe 7 slices of lettuce. absolutely disgusted with this place. management needs to step up. read more

Very skimpy portions and rude owner, just like previous reviews have said consistently over the years. There's plenty of much better sandwich options within a 2 minute drive. Do yourself a favor and try anything else. read more

The manager is a jerk. He complained that I shouldn't ask for the items I wanted because it was too much for $5. Wth?! Veggies are too much? Idiot! No part of Subway should condone franchisees yelling at or berating customers for the promotions they have plastered on the wall. You can buy spinach for $3 a bag...I'm sure Subway pays less. This's all happened when I asked for like 5 more leaves than the 10 he put on my footling VEGGIE sub. Sigh. No accounting for stupidity. I'll never go back! read more

The manager of this subway was rude to me and the customer before me for no obvious reason. When calmly asking for extra olives he made several rude comments and was also rude to the man next to me defending me. He told me "it was customers like me that cost him extra money" and also told me "to never come back again" all because I asked for extra olives. read more

I go to this subway pretty frequently, maybe twice a week. Today i came in and one of the girls was working (who is there every time I am there). This employee is not overtly rude, however I can sense some tension every time i order. Today, as i was ordering my lunch, i was told to go to another subway down the road. I was completely taken aback and confused why i was being told this. I then decided i was going to write a review, asked the employee her name, and was met with silence. She is heavyset, maybe 230 lbs, Hispanic, 25-35 years old. I am part of a company down the road of about 25 employees, and none of them go to this subway for this very reason. This employee has managed to scare away my co-workers, so i suggest a review be made with her. I was at this subway around 12:10 pm June 16, 2020, and cameras at your facility will reflect our interaction. read more

This place is the only subway I will eat at. The veggies and meat are always fresh and the store is exceedingly clean. The manager and staff are super friendly and are always generous with the veggies unlike other locations. The owner gave me a free cookie last time as well. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. read more

Ordered online and order was ready and prepared right. Subway is fast food. I did not compare to the Italian delis who have higher quality but higher prices of course. The Caprese ciabatta was good and cheaper than most 'fast food'. The app was really easy to use and saved time. I will use again to pickup a quick affordable family dinner. I would like to see a family meal that can be picked up with cut up sandwiches, shareable salad, and desert. read more

This place sucks... The bread isn't even the normal size for a sub and they skipped out on the veggies on the subs. A total of four sliced pepper for a foot long sub. Just shut this franchise down or get a new owner Just find a different location instead of being taken advantage of here.... read more

They are ok except they are extremely skimpy on the veggies. Like you might get three cucumber slices on a foot long sub. I have gotten twice as much at other Subways. Other than that they are ok. read more

Avoid like the plague. The owner and the staff are trained to cheat the customer and don't like being called on it. Today wife and I stopped for lunch. She ordered a foot long combo with chips and soda and I ordered the $5 sub of the month with chips and soda (as a combo which adds $2 to the cost of the sandwich). The employee announced that the cost was $21.45. I said no way. Yes my wife's meal should be $9 plus tax, but BMT is the featured May $5 sub, look at the sign behind you. The stinking, insolent employee told me that if I don't tell; her first that I want to pay the advertised price then she is trained to charge the highest possible price in the cash register memory. I told her to fix it and all of a sudden the total dropped to $17.31. I insisted to speaking to the worthless owner. The idiot didn't apologize for the deliberate overcharging. He told me it's the way the register is programmed. I told him that was BS. He programs the register and is responsible to train his stupid (and they are both insolent and stupid) employees to know what the posted prices are and not charge more than that. Many items don't have posted prices and no itemized receipt is tendered. How many customers are cheated and ripped off here every day?????????????? Subway International doesn't care. I was told to take it up with the franchisee. I plan on sending in the State of Connecticut Consumer Protection unit for a complaint and audit. I told the worthless owner tha this is how he'll lose his business. From now on I'll drive to the other Subway in town on RT 25 where they are honest and a pleasure to deal with. I hope this bast*rd goes belly up. read more

I love the food and the owner is a great guy. I would recommend his subway over others due to the cleanliness and friendly staff.

Too bad you can't give no stars. This franchise is the absolute worst. Sandwiches and salads come with the bare minimum ingredients. The owner is a rude jerk. Hope this place goes under soon read more

I am always on the road and visit many different Subway through out the state. This particular franchise is the worst. The people behind the counter are rude and have no customer service skills. 8-26-16 I usually avoid this place since the last time but the kids wanted Subway. Where do I begin... First, the woman behind the counter which we will just say was "of a larger carriage" to be kind, helped my son. My son simply asked for his sandwich to be toasted. At this, the "sandwich artist" rolled her eyes...let's face it, poppin those sammys in the toaster is strenuous stuff. Then, we witnessed an exchange between the owner and a sweet elderly woman. Now, an on going theme at this place is the employees being unable to hear customers on the other side of the counter and the employees getting nasty with the customer...maybe they have pickles in their ears, I don't know, but the owner got shitty with the woman because he was unable to hear her clearly. Then, she made a comment about the sparse tuna on her sandwich. A couple scoops of tuna on what equates to a small loaf of bread doesn't cut it. His reply was "You pay more! You get more!...nice guy he is, real sweet heart. I guess Atlantic Tuna prices are skyrocketing. read more

I took my girls in for a sandwich today because we received some coupons in the mail. As we waited a while (even though there was only one other person in front of us), I asked the person in front me if he would like one of the coupons. He appreciated the gesture very much, but the owner quickly chimed in saying that coupons aren't to be shared and that he will not accept it. Soon after, it was our turn to pay. He proceeded to tell me that coupon sharing is not allowed and the money ($0.50 off) doesn't come out of my own pocket, it comes out of his. Let's just say that he will not be getting a dime more of my money. Based on other reviews from this location, this isn't the first complaint about the owner. read more
