While driving, I got a second request to text back OMW (on my way), which I did. Even so, my order was delayed. I went here a little after noon on a weekday. The store was so clean. I usually feel uncomfortable with a lot of food smells that get in clothes, but there was no smell here. Service was really fast. I only came for an order of fries to eat with my chipotle....I did NOT try any other food. The place was clean there were about 4 families eating. I realized they have seasoned fries which I just had to choose. They were made to order (maybe because they hadnt made any yet...I dunno). I like that you have an excellent view of the kitchen. You can see everything being made. The fries were perfect, spicy, crispy, tender on the inside. I've been to 5 guys years ago, only once, in White Plains NY...I dont remember seasoned fries. What an awful experience. They have signs all over the place talking about how great their burgers and fries are and it must have been the worse burger and experience I ever had at a burger place. First of all the restaurant was a mess. Napkins and garbage on the floor, looks like the staff never bother to come out and sweep and clean the place. Secondly, how could it take 45 minutes to get fast food. The staff was beyond slow and matter of fact they looked lost. Finally after waiting forever for one cheeseburger and fries when I got home and bit into my burger it was over cooked, burned and dry. What an awful experience. I'll start this with saying I love five guys burgers, this review isn't about the food. There were 5 people "working" when I came in around 7:15pm. The guy running the grill had to let the ladies that were too busy gossiping about some drama that happened with other employees earlier this week to take my order. After telling them to take my order for the third time a lady reluctantly came over, not happy to be bothered. Perfect, I can't wait for my burger and some peanuts! Woah pal, not so fast on the peanuts. One box is open with a tied bag and just a hole ripped in it, the other box is almost empty without any of the peanut containers. Fine, I'll enjoy my soda and wait. The show continues! I'd be concerned I was being rude listening to the conversations, but they were hard not to over hear. For those readers who are on the edge of their seats waiting, the drama was that an employee or manager grabbed one of the other employees, I honestly was just thinking about how much I wanted peanuts. To the management: I think you can cut costs and just have the guy running the grill work. He seemed to be the only one trying to feed a hungry America. Good burger. The online ordering process (during Covid) is confusing. I ended up registering on their site to place an order and then was given a phone number to call to actually place the order (! ?) They also suggested I download their app.... Why, so I it can give me a phone number to call to place the order?? The amount of Fries used to be a large quantity with it spilling over the container into the bag itself. It was nice. With Covid, my last order was not like that... just what was in the container. The worst service I have ever received. Ordered a burger online and showed up FIFTEEN minutes later. Went to the counter and waited to be helped for about 3 minutes thinking the bag on the counter was mine. Getting slightly impatient and worried my food was getting cold I flagged a guy down after a few tries and asked about my order, and instead of addressing me like a human being just waves his hand at the counter where there's a burger sitting there. Not even a single word of explanation or apology. Waited another 15 minutes for that burger to be ready. Cold by the time I got it. I will not be returning, the one in Southport is only a couple miles away and hires people with the basic, rudimentary manners and competence needed to serve the public. read more

One woman in front of me who seemed to be having an issue. Waited for her to get her order and then the kid walked away to make more orders. Not seeing any orders waiting I figured mine might be in the queue. There were some people sitting down eating but not crowded. Another girl appear from the back and went over to a machine that was spitting out orders on tickets. Mind you, we only ordered fries. Two orders of fries. Kept waiting. They start bagging up more orders so I think "must be coming up now". Nope. When the guy handed out four orders in a row (3 to some girls that came in and ordered while I was waiting !!!) i kindly asked how long for an order that was placed online. Because now it had been 25 minutes. He asked the name (I said my sister placed it and gave her name). "Oh, didn't know you were here so we didn't do the order". What kind of nonsense is that. What's the point of the technology you have with click this link and say you're here Mind you, it was $11 for two orders of fries. And their fries were not even good. Wouldn't go here again. So let me start this review by saying that overall, my experiences at this new Five Guys location have been pretty below average. I say this because I know what a good Five Guys burger is supposed to taste like...same thing with the fries. There were quite a few times that I got barely crispy, tasteless fries and a dried out, bland burger. Well I am happy to say that tonight all of that was made up for. I walked in at 9:40, feeling a little guilty that I'm getting food right before the 10 o clock close (I used to work at a deli I know what it's like). So anyway, I walk to the counter, half expecting everyone to be like "awww man....really?!", when I hear "hey ya made it in time!". I really respected that. Even after a long day, right before closing, this guy was able to make the last customer feel comfortable and welcome. His name is Mo by the way What really made this Five Guys experience the best was that the food was totally on point. Burger was juicy. Toppings fresh- nice and neat not falling all over the place. And of course, the fries, were perfect. They have such a distinct flavor when they're done right, and these definitely were. So I couldn't do the 5 stars just yet.
