We walked in at 6:45 to get a sandwich. Mind you I walked in right after another couple walked in. As soon as we walk in the girl up front points her hand towards the door and says "I'm closing in 15 minutes for my break". Basically kicking us out. Then the employee tells me the coupon is only good on 5 sandwiches because the manager set the rule for that location at coffee rd cross of orangeburg. Wtf kind of crap is that? Don't go to this subway if you see the old hag with the forearm tattoo she is horrible at making sandwiches and very rude. When we walked it my lady greeted her with a hello and the employee didnt even say anything not hello or ill be right with you. The experience was awful. We ordered 3 foot longs and she starts huffing and puffing and shaking her head. I can understand if she was busy but we were the only customers there. She forgot the provolone cheese and pepperoni, all there was is cheese and meatballs with little to no marinara sauce. On the last foot long she almost made it fine but she put hella salt on it. I have always driven the extra couple of miles to this location because they were fast and friendly and their food was fresh. This has not been the case the last few times I've visited and today was the worst experience I've ever had here! I placed my order online as usual and I sent my mother to pick up the order. She is older. She asked the employee (woman) behind the counter if the order on the shelf was under my name. The woman rudely replied 'if that's what the label says!' Ok, fine... you have an attitude. Whatever hope you have a better day. But!... Then we get the sandwiches home and they are made incorrectly... ok whatever we will live. The staff was not English speaking and began making a sandwich I didn't order playing loud Spanish mucus in the kitchen. Poor training the staff over charged for a sub that's featured on the board never spoke to me in English as I was just spoke Spanish then the other team member came out as I was being overcharged and incorrect meal she didn't say a word she just clicked the computer and spoke Spanish the the lady I had trouble with and then still made me pay full price no apology no corrective actions just talking to one another in Spanish then talking in Spanish about customers and their dad I can understand Spanish I don't speak it. Subway on Coffee Rd in Modesto, California. Yelp Challenge 75/100 I came to have lunch with my Grandpa, Sister and brother here. As soon as we walked in my family and I were greeted by the two ladies working. Everyone was in line ordering their food and I was last. I was just checking the place out and taking pictures. One of the girls working asked me "If I was a secret shopper" I laughed and replied "No". The girls working at Subway rock, very nice and talkative. Well I can say we all got the $6 meal deal that comes with a six inch sub and drink. I didn't take pictures of thier food because they're not really down like that lol. I do know my baby brother ordered his favorite meatball sandwich. It's his favorite and only sammich he orders from here. My sister and grandpa had the flatbread chicken teriyaki. I ended up with the black forest ham sandwich with hella spinach. Subway has this little bell that you ring, if the sandwich was bomb. I rang it and chatted with the ladies working :) :) Even gave them a tip :) That's how much fun we had with them here. The majority of the time we were just talking and enjoying the moment. We couldn't remember when was the last time we went out like this. I'm in my 30's and lil sis and baby bro are in thier 20's. It was very nice having lunch with our grandpa. That was priceless by itself. So yeah our family had a really good time here at Subway, I'll never forget this day. So will I be back? Of course the next time I'm in Modesto kicking up dust. I was served by Kayla today 10/07/2017. She was awesome. She was so friendly. She was the only one working when we came in. Store was super clean and she had it stocked with fresh food. I loved my potato soup and sandwich. Its always nice to eat somewhere when the worker is in a good mood and takes pride in her job. Second girl clocked in a little before 10:45/11am, washing her hands and went straight to work. I didn't catch the other girl's name but both girls showed great leadership and above all POSITIVE WORK ETHIC. Especially in a rough negative world, its nice to encounter nice people. I was a little apprehensive to go to Subway. When I got to this particular location I saw two employees talking with one another. Initially I thought this was going to be another poorly-run Subway, however the interaction between these employees really cemented my impression of how things are done here. These two were having fun, had smiles but recognized when a customer was waiting. Immediately Talani (forgive my memory on the name) took my order , made recommendations for my sandwich , offered to toast them and all the while was very pleasant. It turns out she is the manager of the store and all the while was personable, professional and had a great sense of humor. In addition to all of that, the sandwich was outstanding. I will definitely be coming back to this Subway, for the sandwiches and the experience. I know there are better sandwich places out there in the world but sometimes personal interaction and the friendliness goes a long way. read more
