Since I was currently listing to Food Friday on WAMC and hearing Chef Ric Orlando talk about all these different Italian dishes, the first thing that came to mind was to ask for a hot meatball sandwich. And so, she stopped at Cardona's to fulfill my request. It turned out they had hot Meatball Parm subs, small $12; large $15. I figured a large might provide leftovers. When I saw what she brought home I said "this large is definitely a two meal sub." Well, after I cut it in half and started on the first half I was surprised that the meat was not heavy. The large meatballs were not overly dense but still seemed solid. The melted parm on top was just enough to add additional flavor, and the tomato sauce was very good. The roll had a nice flavor and was sturdy enough to hold all its contents. The only negative I decided was that a little bit of the roll at each end got chewy and hard after the heating and transportation process. The biggest surprise came after finishing the first half. I thought, "I could probably finish that other half right now and enjoy it." And so, I did! YUM!

Specials of the day are posted at the entrance. Service was prompt and friendly. The charming cafe is located at the end of a strip of businesses off Rt. 7 near the Galleria 7 Food Court. There are many tables and a full bar in a well lit inside seating area. In addition, there is a great patio with nice planters on one side. Lots of parking. Easy access for wheelchairs and walkers. Unfortunately, 3 of our 5 orders were incorrect, which was quite frustrating considering the effort we had put into specifying what we wanted. Nevertheless, to their credit, the staff promptly took care of the errors when we brought them to their attention. Despite the order issues we faced, I still find DiBella's to be a pretty good sub shop. Taking everything into consideration, I would rate them 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4 stars, primarily because I appreciated the food quality. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

Visited three times, twice before COVID and one after. For the two older visits, I'd give them 4…read morestars. At that time, they had a wide variety of different foods on the deli side, and two small tables outside to eat-in on site. There is no doubt about the authenticity of this place. The food is real and what they don't make on site, is imported from Poland or elsewhere in Europe. We had a couple of nice visits, ordering from the deli (and picking up some packaged snacks from the other side of the store) and eating outside. On the last visit, unfortunately, one table had been removed, leaving only one remaining (where an older woman had set up shop with no intention of leaving even though some local nurses were clearly waiting to sit and eat). Also, there used to be 8 large menu boards with deli offerings, but only one was remaining. The others are covered up because the food on those boards is no longer available! I wasn't sure if this was due to Covid, but when we asked, they said that they had to cut down on the options because the store couldn't get any help! I see they are currently trying to hire help. Also, it seems that the prepackaged items on the other side of the store are a little sparse as well (several of the items we bought previously were no longer available). This is probably due to COVID related supply chain problems. I mention this and am giving three stars with as much love and hope as possible - I sincerely wish that they get the help they need and get back to full strength as soon as possible!
