What's in a name? Sicilian Pizzeria serves excellent Sicilian style pizza "a typically rectangular variety of cheese pizza with dough over an inch thick, a crunchy base, and an airy interior." It originated in Sicily, Italy. Sicilian also serves round thin crusted pizzas, great hot subs, cold subs, wraps, wings, and salads. It is located near Union College in Schenectady, NY. My family celebrated my grandson's 17th birthday with the following order: *Three Sicilian rectangular pizzas --Spinach and bacon white --Chicken parm --Veggie *Large round thin crusted Cheese Pizza *2 orders Chicken Fingers BBQ sauce on side *50 wings -- half mild and half medium Celery Sticks with dressings (no charge) One Grilled Chicken Wrap The pizzas were outstanding. The crust was perfectly browned, crispy on outside, and pillowy dough on inside. The toppings were plentiful. The Veggie even included pieces of eggplant! Youngsters enjoyed the Cheese Pizza and the large moist Chicken Fingers while the rest of us loved the Sicilian style pizzas. The wings were very good! Service as always was efficient and courteous from placing the order to pickup. The owner often greets you when you pick up an order. They are pleased to have you as a customer. My fiancé and I *love* their 12-cut Sicilian! The crust is thick and chewy on the outside and soft inside. It is incredibly mouthwatering! The bottom of the crust is caramelized to perfection! We get ours with extra pepperoni usually. They always have it ready at the designated time and it is always hot and delicious! It pains me to write this, but I'm done ordering from Sicilian's. They used to be my go-to mid-range pizza: it was tasty, delivered promptly, and a decent price. The delivery people were also really nice. All that is still true, except for the "tasty" part. Unfortunately, the past several times we've ordered from Sicilian's, the pizza hasn't been good. It had a cheap, greasy taste to the crust that is really off-putting. I was hoping it was a fluke, but it's now occurred several times over a several month span. It's not good. It's edible, so if you were in a pinch, it's fine, but there are so many options in the area, I don't see how that would be necessary. read more

This place always delivers on time, the food is always hot and the delivery drivers are always curtious. Not to mention the food is delicious and every order is on point. I love the pizza, their burgers and fries, and their wings. I also very much enjoy their beef paties, I only wish they came with cheese on them. I have ordered small and large salads from many places here in schenectady in and around goose hill neighborhood and nothing compares to Sicilian pizza . The SALADS small or large has lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, red green and yellow peppers, a hard boil egg ,olives, slices of red onion . The amount of each is always the same . The staff is friendly the owners are polite and friendly . It's very hard to not mess up one order when you explicitly asked more than once to put white sauce on the rice. I ordered lamb and chicken over rice with white sauce on the rice, not on the side on the rice. The guy said yes, I got my food and there was no white sauce on the rice. read more

So grateful they were open on Memorial Day and had delivery. It is sad when you have to pay a fee for delivery and a service fee (and I gave a 20% tip) only to receive a call that he (the driver) was "here" and was nowhere to be found. I tried to talk him from where he was to my driveway so he could walk on my sidewalk to meet me and he went the opposite way. Then when I met him across the cul-de-sac and I tried to point him to where to come "next time I ordered," he basically "dumped" the 2 (very hot) 12 cut round pizzas and a chicken salad at me and turned without even a thank you (or grunt). The chicken salad was perfect and we were really impressed with how the two pizzas looked. Unfortunately, still doesn't come close to our favorite local pizza. The crust was very good. The white pizza was "wet" (soggy top of crust) beneath the toppings. The pepperoni and cheese on the second pizza was grainy , like too much grated Parmesan was used. So, unless we can't get our favorite pizza, there most likely won't be a next time for "Mr. Delivery Charmer" to not find my house. read more

Love this place. The Sicilian pizza is the best in the area. The crust has a light crunch on the outside and a soft satisfying inside. The sauce is wonderful and the cheese is fresh and high quality, not greasy. We occasionally add wings to our order--and they are also very well prepared. The have individual desserts, including cheesecake and red velvet cake and these, too are very good quality. Worst experience of my life trying to get a meal. I placed my order at 5:03PM this evening through Mealeo and it said the wait was 45-65 minutes. Mealeo confirmed the restaurant had my order. At 6:04PM I called to check on the order and the girl answering told me it was on the way and the driver had the order and would be delivering it soon. 6:32PM I still did not have my food so I called again (we are now 1 1/2 hours from when I placed my order). This time the girl tells me she messed up and that they didn't have paper in the fax so my order JUST printed. She told me they would rush my food and it would be ready in about 20 minutes. At 7:06PM I called again to make sure my food was now on the way. I was told the driver did have the food (I made her promise that this was the truth this time) and that she was going to call him and make him come to my house immediately. To this point I had kept my cool and was very nice. 7:17pm about 2 hours and 15 mins since I placed my order. Still no food. Called again and now I'm not happy. I told this girl she lied to me twice now and I had enough. I wanted to cancel my order and wanted a refund. She told me the food was made and on the way so she could give me "compensation for my time" to which I declined and said I wanted a full refund and cancel the order. She was getting as argumentative as I was angry so I told her if she didn't want to deal with this I would like to speak to someone else. She put on a gentleman with a heavy accent, Italian I think. I explained what happened and he told me the food was made and he couldn't do anything for me. Again I request a refund and he tells me he can't refund me because Mealeo hasn't paid them yet so I said "okay I'll call Mealeo". I tried to explain we are regular customers and after being lied to twice I do not want to do business with Sicilian any longer and he said "I don't have time to listen to you explain, I'm busy". So I said "well you just lost a customer" and he said "yeah okay" and started trailing off and hung up. The food is good, but the customer service and treatment of a regular customer should tell you all you need to know. I'll just order elsewhere from now on. read more

I'll occasionally order from Sicilians, especially if I want decent fare at a reasonable cost. Their pizza is decent, and while I've had better, it's certainly good pizza. They have some good gyros as well. The one thing I really like from Sicilians, and this was apparently enough to give it an extra star, is their chicken fajita wrap. It is hot, warm and inexpensive. As a person who is always on the quest for the perfect pizza in this area... I ultimately have to settle for the best bang for the buck.. Sicilians is without a doubt the best bang. Pizza and wing specials are unbeatable - most pizzas cost more! The pizza is decent and consistent, the sauce is tasty and the crust is real dough and the cheese is good quality and amount. The size of the wings differ slightly (depending upon supply) but are always good and crispy and they give you more wings than most in their deals. We may try something different once in a while but when we want good pizza cheap and in a hurry Sicilians is the place to call. Well, i just got wings and salad from here, and boy, am I sorry. I swear, I have never had worse wings anywhere. I ordered 36, and they were all Re-Fried!!! I have worked for over 20 years for a pizza joint, so I know what wings are like refried. HOrrible! Way too well done, and dry, and shriveled up. Bad. Worst ones ever. I also ordered the Salad, and the Meat in it seems ancient! I can't even identify what one of the meats are!!! Looks like olive loaf, or something. I have no idea, but it doesn't belong in the antipasto! The tomatos are soft and mushy, and it makes me wonder how old the lettuce is. Man, I am soo sorry I spent my money here! We were repeat customers until I had 2 mealeo orders completely missed over the last few months. The last time we ordered from them we waited 2 and a half hours for our order (which never arrived) and were lied to twice by the woman answering the phones that our order was on the way when my wife called to check on the status. When she asked to speak with someone else and said we no longer wanted the food and would like a refund he said he didn't care, he was busy and hung up on her. There are plenty of small businesses who would gladly take care of their customers. This CLEARLY is NOT one of them. OK I originally gave this place five stars months ago and everything has been good up until now. First, with the specials they no longer give you a 2 L of soda with it and the price didn't drop either. On top of that, they now charge $1.50 for delivery. So basically you get less for more money so they just lost me as a customer I gave to stars because the food is good but not when they are giving less and charging more when there are many more places around me that I can go to. And also on top of that the cool delivery guy hasn't been coming around for a while I wonder if he's going to they've been sending some rude person who doesn't care that he crushes your pizza with the wings in the delivery bag. I saw this place online and the reviews were good so I decided to choose this place. I ordered mozzarella sticks, pizza and boneless wings. The wings and mozzarella sticks weren't anything special, i ended up only eating a few bites. The pizza was barely cooked and I had to put it in the oven for 15 mins. I shouldn't have to cook the pizza after getting it. They told my on the phone that it would be 25 mins but ended up being longer than expected. My over all experience wasn't that great. read more

These are some of the rudest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. First off, they called and told me that their grill was closed which I understood its late at night but then the girl on the phone kept rushing me and rushing me to pick something else without a suggestion or even an attempt to help me. Then I keep hearing her repeatedly yell 'Hello' in my ear over and again like we are not still connected. I don't appreciate this sort of behavior especially since I have worked in customer service for over 7 years. It was a big turn off and I will be calling the manager in the morning and reporting this type of shoddy behavior. I ended up cancelling my order because her attitude was bad but I get another guy who literally hangs up the phone without even asking me what my order was.
