This new guy got me sick. There were 2 guys working at the time, both were speaking Punjabi. I should've walked out after he sneezed on his plastic gloves. He claims to have changed them out when he went to the back. I should've had him change them in front of me. Well he then proceeded to grab a whole stack of American cheese with those same gloves to restock. He sounded sick. The more seasoned guy (shorter guy) had just ended his shift but was training the sick guy. He didn't know how to make the sandwiches we ordered so the seasoned worker was assisting even though he was off. The lettuce looked dry and old none of the toppings looked fresh. My daughter and I finally got our sandwiches and ate them and the following day we both woke up feeling sick. Anyone else get sick after eating at this establishment??? The guy at this place did not know how to make a sandwich. The new guy put very little of each of the items on the sandwich and didn't know basic protocol for helping customers. Well, I don't know why I keep craving Subway lately, but I'm sticking to my 3-star (maybe 2.5 stars) review status. Why? Mostly convenience. In a town that feels like it's dying (i.e. restaurants, banks, and retail shops shuttering their doors or holding odd hours) at least Subway is open and has online ordering available. I was craving a breakfast sandwich and I noticed that there was nowhere to get one at the odd hour of 11am. I remembered Subway exists, and ordered an egg & cheese wrap. What I received wasn't really a wrap... but it did contain all of my requests inside of a tortilla, so I guess maybe it would pass the Webster Dictionary definition. It wasn't great. This subway says that people on Yelp have marked it closed, as it should be, but unfortunately it is very much opened. We went in on July 31, 2022 to get a sandwich for our lake day at King's beach. Their air conditioner/ swamp cooler was broken and it was SO HOT inside. Instantly walking in we felt we were walking into a sauna. It was hot, muggy, and humid inside. I tried to make a joke to the employee about the air being turned off and he said " you're telling me..." He was so miserable. Sweaty. That has got to be against OSHA standards. I couldn't imagine working in such heat. We were about to order sandwiches but all of the food was so hot... the cheese got so warm inside of the metal tins that it had folded over and was sweaty. The meat was sweaty. the veggies wilted. It was the most disgusting thing I've seen at a sandwich shop. We had to tell him that there was no way that food was safe and we left. This is the second time I have placed a to-go order with the intent of it being a quick in and out visit and nothing has been ready. Last time this happened the same guy was working and he made my sandwich after asking if I had a to-go order. This time there were many people in line and the guy emerged from the restroom, completely unbothered. I waited another 10 minutes and he asked "do you have a to-go?" to which, I replied "yes". He then started making other customers orders even though I was passed the promised "ready to go" time for my order. I have a small child and I dont have time to wait around or stand in line. Avoided this place for a few years after a horrible first impression. Decided today to give it a try again. Ordered two sandwiches online and waited for it to be ready 20mins before heading there. Arrived 7mins after the ready time. They hadn't started making it. They let me know they don't have the chicken for my sandwich so I asked for turkey instead. I needed to leave for work so almost left empty handed. They said they could make the two sandwiches in 5minutes. I came back inside 5mins later and they were still working on one of the two sandwiches. Once I got to my sandwich there was zero cheese on it. I had paid for 2x pepperjack. The bread tasted pretty stale too. The two guys working seemed very overwhelmed and couldn't handle the two that walked in after us trying to order that left immediately. Slow and strange. Outside of science fiction, I've not seen time pass so slowly. There are creatures on this planet whose lives are shorter than the time between first and last pickle placed. With two customers in front of us, it was a solid twenty five minutes before we had a sandwich in hand. Interactions were strange. A paucity of sliced onion was placed upon the bread, prompting my daughter to request more. Two or three slivers followed. Exchanging an uncomfortable glance, I was silently relieved that my ten year old was savvy enough to say "that's good" despite knowing it wasn't. The credit card machine failed to communicate with the authentication server and the toilets were suspiciously labeled as out of order. The former required that I drive to 7-Eleven to withdraw cash to pay. The latter required that we drive again to 7-Eleven to deposit before the long drive. All in all, this store set us back a solid 45 minutes for a single sandwich. Given the other reviews, you should definitely visit this place just for the experience. I'm a little late to the party here, but I went to this Subway about 6 or so months ago. I like Subway, and they're usually pretty adequate in a pinch when I want something cheap & relatively healthy. It's like any other fast food place in the States- it's not great, but you usually know what to expect. Anyway, I got the 6" tuna & a 6" cheese steak thing. The bread was hard as a rock, the steak smelled putrid, the tuna tasted metallic (never a good sign) & I got so sick that I actually had to leave work early due to giving The Porcelain Gods some serious prayer time. We found a coupon for Subway on the bulletin board of the cabin we rented for the week. No expiration date and the King's Beach address was listed as a participating location. We thought we were good to go. But no, we were told that they did not accept that coupon. I'll give them a three purely based on I love subway. This location/franchise definitely needs some work. They often have low staffing and are out of items. Today it was onions. Really? The cookies were also not on point compared to my regular subway down in Reno. It is clean and has plenty of seating. Worst customer service ever! I didn't have high expectations going in but I had a gift certificate to use. I ended up ordering a half foot Philly cheese steak for $5.75. After paying I realize my receipt stated a foot long is $6. I asked the two at the register why they didn't mention that to me and they said its up to the consumer to read all the information on the board. I mentioned customer service is part of sales.
