Well, I don't know why I keep craving Subway lately, but I'm sticking to my 3-star (maybe 2.5 stars) review status. Why? Mostly convenience. In a town that feels like it's dying (i.e. restaurants, banks, and retail shops shuttering their doors or holding odd hours) at least Subway is open and has online ordering available. I was craving a breakfast sandwich and I noticed that there was nowhere to get one at the odd hour of 11am. I remembered Subway exists, and ordered an egg & cheese wrap. What I received wasn't really a wrap... but it did contain all of my requests inside of a tortilla, so I guess maybe it would pass the Webster Dictionary definition. It wasn't great. But it wasn't "terrible".

No cheese that I paid extra for, order wasn't ready on time, apparently it takes more than 45 mins to make a sandwich here.

Avoided this place for a few years after a horrible first impression. Decided today to give it a try again. Ordered two sandwiches online and waited for it to be ready 20mins before heading there. Arrived 7mins after the ready time. They hadn't started making it. They let me know they don't have the chicken for my sandwich so I asked for turkey instead. I needed to leave for work so almost left empty handed. They said they could make the two sandwiches in 5minutes. I came back inside 5mins later and they were still working on one of the two sandwiches. Once I got to my sandwich there was zero cheese on it. I had paid for 2x pepperjack. The bread tasted pretty stale too. The two guys working seemed very overwhelmed and couldn't handle the two that walked in after us trying to order that left immediately. I wanted to like this place because I do like subway but unfortunately the one that is 5mins from my home is the worst. Such a bummer.

Soda machine leaking water all over the floor, slip and fall and you have a law suit, check out the overflowing garbage bin

We were immediately greeted with a "good morning," friendly faces, and genuinely happy employees, which was such a breath of fresh air. Everything came out great, and our barista, Dan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated with us every step of the way while we waited for our coffees and hot food. Dan even took the time to recommend a nice outdoor spot where we could sit and enjoy the lake views. He did a 5-star, 5-diamond job taking care of me and my three friends. Thank you, Dan, and thank you, Java Hut, for sending us off with happy taste buds and a great recommendation for how to enjoy the rest of our afternoon! We'll definitely be back.

I would give this place a really good review, and I want to. It's a nice place, in a good location,…read morethe people have always been nice and the coffee/food is good that i have tried so far. What hurts it is it's basically the only coffee shop in kings beach and they are just way too expensive. I live here, and I can go to any place on the west shore and get similar coffee for 2 dollars cheaper. So I don't really go here much because I don't want to spend $6-7 on a coffee and &$13 plus for a coffee and a croissant. In comparison, Tahoe house bakery is at least $3-4 cheaper for a coffee and a croissant and similar quality. Maybe it's not anyone's fault, it's just my reality

Inside seating was mainly stools along the front window with excellent views of the trees and water. I really liked that there was a central coat tree where you could hang your heavy coat, especially with the limited seating. Some tables outside as well for sunny days. Interesting menu that blends standard breakfast with some healthier add-ins like quinoa instead of rice. Food tasted fresh, supporting their goal to serve natural, organic, and local ingredients. I opted for the Sunrise Sliders, and had no complaints. I particularly liked that the pretzel buns weren't too dense and didn't overwhelm the other ingredients. I was given the option to add pesto, and it added great texture and flavor. Great showcasing of local products like bagels from Tahoe Bagel Co. and Blind Dog Coffee.

The interior is nice and cozy (and warm), with light reggae music playing in the background. There're only two tables; the rest of the seating is VERY comfortable bar seating. With two walls of windows showing beautiful Lake Tahoe views--plenty of trees and the lake itself--there's plenty of morning light coming through. I was happy that they were serving smooth Laughing Dog coffee--a favorite. And the food came out quick and delicious, with a nice crisp on my burrito wrapper. The menu is limited, but what they do they do creatively and well--the quinoa in my burrito went great with the eggs, beans, and sausage, and they told my wife they were experimenting with their already creative pretzel bun sunrise sliders by adding pesto--a perfect extra optional touch for her.

We found the space inside to be nice and cozy. They also have an outdoor seating area in the front as well as the back. The service was exceptionally friendly. I heard mixed things about the breakfast burritos, so I stayed away from my usual bacon. Instead, I did the brisket burrito. Eggs, brisket, tater tots, and cheddar cheese in a stretchy steamed tortilla. They have cholula packets but no homemade salsa. I found the burrito much better than I was expecting. It's a bit heavy handed on the eggs, but I prefer it that way. To me it was pretty close to a perfect ratio of eggs, meat, and potato. The brisket was a tad chewy but I didn't mind that, I found it overall flavorful and not too hard to eat. As said above, the tortilla is steamed but not toasted. I personally prefer my breakfast burritos this way as well. And it was a great size too. On the expensive side, but we're in Tahoe so... I enjoyed my iced decaf americano, a drink many would usually find unenjoyable. Their decaf coffee was actually really good (and the staff reassured me of that too). I will knock it down to 4 stars because my wife said her vanilla latte was just okay. Come for the coffee, stay for the burrito. We will be back if this is a convenient stop for us in Tahoe, but won't go out of our way for it. However, if it's close it's definitely worth a try.
