We've gotten subs here a bunch of times in the last several months. Each time, we placed our order online ahead of time and dropped in at the pick up time to collect our order. + Online ordering = super convenient. + Very few issues/errors with our orders. The only issue that stands out was one time when we ordered drinks (lemonades) on the app only to be told when we were picking up our order that lemonade wasn't available. So why have it as an option? Other than that, no complaints. + It's a chain restaurant, so the flavors, offerings and quality of the products are on par with other Subway locations. + Pleasant service. + Lots of parking. read more

This is the best Subway in Kailua always clean and it opens early enough so you can pick up a sandwich to bring to work. The workers (male and female morning crew) are always friendly and make an efficient tag team. Their sandwiches are the best - bread is soft and vegetables fresh and plentiful! Almost the worst Subway experience ever. Let me start with the good. I was able to order online and use the current promotional offers that Subway advertises. Made my future order for puck up and paid for it without issue. When it came time to pick up my order it was ready. (Even tho they didnt follow my instruction to bag one sandwich separately) Now what I have an issue with. I ordered a Philly Steak and cheese paid $5.00 extra for double meat. When I got home and felt my sandwich it felt REALLY lite. When i opened it i noticed barely enough steak to consider it one serving let alone double serving. After weighing the whole sandwich it just made 16oz or 490g. That is sandwich wrapped in paper incuded. Double meat serving alone should weight 15oz to 16oz.​ The icing on the cake is that when I attempted to contact them for 1 and a half hours straight (808) 262-4216 nobody answered. Have been going to this location off and on for years. This particular location has the most impeccable service I've received at any Subway in the world. I wish I remembered the name of the guy that's always there, but his service is especially award worthy. One of the best examples of customer service I've ever received, and he does it consistently. The food is always good and prepared fast. My only complaint has nothing to do with the actual store or employees, but the Subway mobile app needs to add more options at his location, namely pastrami, for one. Sometimes I have to go to other locations because of this, but I'd rather keep giving business to this store, because they treat me right. Ok so since covid started we have only seen prices go up while quality and quantity tend to suffer. What an AMAZING surprise to see that Subway on Hamakua FAR SURPASSED my wildest expectations. This was easily the BEST Subway sandwich I have had in YEARS - and the BEST one I have had from a Kailua Subway - EVER! Just outstanding. I ordered online and picked up my order a little early - but it was just about ready! The sandwich was packed with veggies and everything I specified on my order. The lack of safety protocols here is staggering. While everyone else is making drastic changes to combat Covid 19, they have not changed a thing other than removing chairs for dining inside. No one was wearing a mask, I did not see anyone wash hands between customers, did not see anyone wipe anything down, they still used the one size fits all gloves, and they no longer had hand sanitizer out for customers to use. I was so grossed out after I left that I threw my sandwich away. I will NOT be going back in ANY Subway any time soon. I would recommend you do the same. read more

This is the BEST Subway we have in K-town hands down!! I would give them 10 stars if I could!! The guy and gal there are friendly. They are GENEROUS with their portions,you don't have to keep asking for more bell peppers after you get 2 more slices, etc. Got a cold cut combo and it was GREAT!! The place looked clean the food fresh and not all dried looking. The other locations in K-town were very stingy with veggies and had a poor attitude. I would have to say this is my favorite Subway. Its always very clean with almost no waits compared to the other Kailua Subways. What really impresses me about this location is how friendly the staff is, as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a very genuine "Hello" and a big smile...to be honest it catches me off guard haha! When the staff is making my sandwiches I never have to repeat myself or ask for a little more, they provide very generous amounts of toppings and are very attentive to detail. This has become our favorite Kailua Subway. The low rating from a previous poster seems to be fir a location other than this store. This Subway is next to Safeway, Ninja sushi and Papa Johns pizza. It is new, very clean and everyone there is super friendly. They seem to be a little more generous with their portions to the point that the office gals will go to this location even though it is farther away. While not the healthiest of choices Subway has helped me while dieting so I go here a little more than I probably should. The chopped salads are great as are the low fat sandwiches. My off the diet splurge is the pastrami sandwich which is surprisingly good, given it is Subway. read more
