Their sandwiches are incredible especially the Rachael and their giant turkey club but on top of that the employees are very welcoming and it's also a great location to visit as they sell a wide variety of jams, jelly, candy, and much more! Taking over the same storefront as the former Amish Deli (home of "Bowling Green's Biggest, Baddest BLT"), I had high hopes which were only buoyed by the enthusiastic welcome I received from the smiling staff as I entered the establishment. The nice lady at the order counter apologized and said the grill was having issues during their soft opening, but that did not matter to me, as I already had my eyes on trying one of the 2-dog combos. After quickly reviewing my options, I ordered the Sterling dogs with a side of coleslaw, plus a fountain Coke. Before tax, the total came to $9.98, which was pretty reasonable for lunch downtown. As I made my way to one of the booths, I cast my eye around the dining room, and frankly, I liked what I saw! The new laminate floor looked great, as did the brand new -and spotlessly clean- tables, chairs, and booths. The decorations and wall hangings were tasteful and un-cluttered, and I especially liked how the blue light horse silhouette (visible on far-right side of my dining room photo) conveyed a sense of good-Amish-food-meets-21st-century. After a pleasantly short wait, my order was delivered to my booth. The all-beef dogs were garnished with crispy-cooked bacon, red pepper relish, and shredded cheddar cheese. As you can see in my food photo, they looked great, and tasted even better! The side of coleslaw was also very good, which kind of surprised me, as I expected it to be overpowered by the clearly visible chunks of red onion, but the flavours melded together perfectly. I also liked how the staff stopped by my table to ask how the food was, and how speedy and friendly they were any time I took my fountain cup up to the counter for a refill. PROS: very good food, very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a good atmosphere CONS: for a soft opening, I felt they were great, as I had zero issues! Overall I rate Sterling's Amish Deli as being Very Good, and look forward to returning!

I arrived at 1:30p and the Diner closes at 2. Not too many people in the restaurant. I was greeted by a friendly staff member (the usual for Star Diner). Service was very good, as my server was very attentive - bonus! I actually ordered breakfast: Star Special - 3 eggs (any style), generous portion of perfectly done home fried potatoes, turkey sausage patties, and of course biscuits with butter and honey. I allowed her to finish and began to point to the ham on display in the cooler and she again suggested what I was asking was impossible because all the meats are "ham based". I made one more attempt and asked that the ingredient listed for the sandwich on the menu board that says "ham", I didn't want it on my sandwich. After this third attempt she seemed to understand what I was looking for. This back and forth seemed to upset the other worker at the register and she was seemingly very cold to us during the purchase process. My hotel was right down the road and since I was up early I decided to grab some food before going into town for my event. This place is located inside of a truck stop that's open to the public for just about anything. It's super clean and very modern with the decor which I loved. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but it's really the only breakfast place around so I took advantage of that. The menu has plenty to choose from and while it's not cheap (generally $12.99 and up for anything breakfast) the food here's actually pretty darn good. I mixed it up and went with corned beef and hash with Texas toast and hash browns for my meal. My food was good and came out quickly which I loved. It was a Saturday morning and very early, so nobody else was in here. I imagine during the week it's a lot busier at this location. My server was wonderful and really took care of me. Overall I was impressed since there isn't much going on here and it's sort of in the sticks of Ohio and on the outskirts of town.
