had a really disappointing experience at the Subway on California Ave. The customer service was honestly the worst part. The employee helping me came across very rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. I made a simple request to substitute lettuce for spinach, and she gave me a hard time about it, which shouldn't be an issue at all. It made the whole interaction uncomfortable. On top of that, I paid $24.03 for two 6-inch sandwiches, which felt extremely overpriced. I'm not sure if I was overcharged, but it definitely didn't seem right. I live close by, and eat here frequently. Until today I have not been motivated to review this place. Subway generally is very consistent from location to location. The food has always been good, as has been the service. Today I was helped by Yoshi (at least that is what the nametag said). She seemed irritated by my presence, and it was a very unwelcoming exchange of product and cash. There was no greeting, body language and her facial expression let me know I made a mistake by walking into the front door. My second mistake was to not walk out when I realized how this lady was going to treat her customer. I did start to walk out, but the bread was split and the meats and cheese was already on the sandwiches, There was no greeting when I was approached to inquire about the sandwiches, no "thank you" after I paid, she just pushed the bag with the sandwiches across the counter. I am not looking for a new best friend, just some courtesy as I vote for Subway with my cash. Certainly should have bailed on this one! The sandwiches were OK. He stated that the coupon only works on subs that he approved of and was going to charge for toppings that are part of the sandwich. Just left Subway at 4106 California in Bakersfield. The bathroom was in need of service, no TP. My husband alertrd them, they did nothing. Another 2 customers told them, still nothing done. The Women's bathroom was out of service. Thinking I was unlocking the bathroom door I opened the door to their back room, where 2 girls were sitting on stools (workers). I asked them if they had added the TP yet, they said "no", I said I cannot go until some was put in, 1 girl said "in a bit". I was so upset, I went to the older woman, behind the counter and told her what the girls had said, "she said "we are busy".
