When I asked for more Mayo, She replied this is what I always put on, so I got a glob, mustard was definitely not light and proceeded to so much oil/vinegar that the bread was soggy by the time I got it home. The employees greeted me when I came in the door, and my sandwich was prepared in a timely manner. I had good service and good food however, I watched an employee interact with other employees in such a disturbing manner. She was so rude and snappy at the others. We have visited two Jersey Mikes in Bakersfield, one was right next to our house and you can find my review for them elsewhere. Today we had to go to one a few miles away because the one by our house won't answer the phone. I learned today at this store "it's because that location is busy and they don't like answering phones". Anyway, these folks happily answered the phone, took the order, and were super polite and professional when I showed up. And they had excellent sandwich artistry. Dear manager of this store, Two of the three young men you have closing tonight are incredibly rude, unprofessional and stealing from your store. This is the worst service I've received from any Jersey Mike's and I will not be returning to this location. Ahead of me in line was an employee from the pizza place next door who did not pay for her sandwich, rather was given her meal by your employee's. The gentleman making my sub had his head where the sun doesn't shine as he repeatedly asked me what I wanted after I told him the first time. Jersey Mike's is always great. The ingredients are always fresh. What I especially like about Jersey Mike's, especially this location, they are great with gluten allergies. I have ordered a hot sub and a cold sub. For the hot sub they cleaned the grill off before making the sub. When we walked in, the scent of fresh bread hit us immediately. It's always impressive to see sandwich shops actually slicing meats and cheeses in front of you when you order, so in that respect Jersey Mikes already stands a step above the rest. The menu is just as impressive as the aromas, which led us to stand for quite a while trying to decide which sandwich would be best. There were so many delicious-sounding choices! Ultimately, we ordered a mini Original Italian, which comes with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappaciolo, salami, and pepperoni. I got it "Mike's way," which is onion, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, and spices. When the employee splashed on the red wine vinegar and olive oil blend, it was so violently done that my mouth immediately started to water. The flavor was a mixture of spicy meats and the sharp red wine vinegar. My husband ordered the Giant Chipotle Chicken Cheese Steak on rosemary cheese bread. It was a nice hot sandwich with melty cheese and a nice texture. The bread soaked up the meat's juices without becoming soggy. Perfect for a cold day. As it was our first time, we got a "rookie cookie" on the house. I chose the candy cookie, of course, and it was soft and surprisingly fresh. The flavor was exactly what I expect from an actual bakery, which only added to my opinion of the restaurant. My husband also ordered the soup of the day. Unfortunately, I didn't have any extra room to taste the Chicken Gumbo soup, so I can't review it. Jersey Mike's has become one of my favorite sandwich places to go to. I have been to several Bakersfield locations and this is by far my favorite one. Every time I come in everyone is welcoming and the dining area is always clean. Mike's way is my favorite and in my opinion the only way to get a sandwich!! I've decided to give this place another go awhile after my last review and I can say that the customer service was quite appreciative and both guys and the girl were very friendly towards me, the store was more clean than my last experience there, although it wouldn't entirely be the case, as I was in the lobby and I couldn't help but notice there was some insects scattering across the floor, from my view they looked like roaches. This is the second time I have been to this location. I usually visit another store. My first visit here was not pleasant! The girls in the store were very rude to customers and they acted like they were doing us all a favor. I chalked it up to a bad day and decided to give them another try since they were closer. Well these girls are just rude and act like they are to good to be working there. When I walked in the counter was very dirty. I asked if she would put my bread on a paper and she looked at me and said "it's just bread crumbs.". Not only was the counter dirty the meat slicer had old meat on both sides of the slicer. It was so gross! I still can't believe I didn't walk out. The one who puts condements on the sandwich kept her board clean. I had two sandwiches and the girl who rang up the purchase only charged for one sandwich then said " Did you have both of these?" She knew what she did. At that point I just wanted out of there.
