I did appreciate the heads-up text, but on one of the most stressful days of your life, it's worth noting - especially as it was early in the morning. More importantly, I was under the impression that loading the truck was part of the service I hired Intense Movers to provide. Nope. Instead, that responsibility was completely handed off to my partner, who stayed with the truck while the movers brought items down for him to load. There was no discussion about this. In fact, it was initially suggested that I use only 2 movers but I requested another to be more efficient. I didn't realize that they assumed my partner was an unpaid 4th. Items with "this side up" stickers were completely disregarded. They brought everything down however they wanted to and handed them off to my partner however was most convenient for them. Also, a couple of guys who were not part of the moving team entered my apartment unannounced, to say hello to the movers. They did not clearly identify themselves, though it seemed like they may have been affiliated with the company. Regardless, having strangers invite themselves into my apartment during the move was pretty inappropriate. Lastly, when it came time for payment, you can only pay by cash or Zelle - which, to me, is sketchy AF. I had planned to send it via Zelle to their company account as instructed. However, the lead mover was insistent that I send the payment directly to him instead, saying he needed to pay his workers immediately. He was so insistent about it that it made me feel really uneasy. In the end, if I could do it all over - I definitely would have chosen someone else who was more professional.

I had gone with them for my move because I had used them last year. And even though the move last year was mediocre (late arrival, workers spending time to use my bathroom without asking, slow communication, etc) I still decided to go with them because they gave a really nice return customer discount which was far below all of the other quotes that I saw around. When I first started to communicate with them everything was going pretty well. Communication was quick and I had all my questions answered quickly and efficiently. However, after I paid my deposit and COI charges everything went downhill from there. I had worked it out with David before to have my COIs sent out ASAP due to the request of my buildings since I was told they usually send out the COIs 1-2 days before a move. They were able to send out the COIs early last year during my other move so I knew it was possible albeit they were also very laggy on that last year as well but still got done. David told me to message him a weekend two weeks before my move to make sure my COIs were sent out which I did with no answer. I gave them till the following Monday and still no message after asking again. After some badgering I finally received a message on Wednesday saying he would check in with me by tomorrow and let me know. And still no update or answer. This went on till the next Monday where I never received an answer to a simple "Is my COI sent out like you promised" question. During this whole time I am pretty sure they were fielding my calls as well because I was always sent straight to voicemail. Finally, after no actual response and no idea what was going to happen with a move that was seeming to probably never happen I asked them directly if this move was going to happen and never received a response. So that forced me to find another moving company around 4 days before my move. Which really amplified my anxiety on top of an already stressful situation such as moving. This whole situation just felt like such a scam - they got their money and completely ghosted and did not give any service or just basic communication. Contracted delivery window blown by over two weeks, no timeline, no accountability…read more Liberty Moving & Storage (Commack, NY), acting as agent for United Van Lines (Order #U0360-60071-6), loaded our full household shipment on June 30th for a cross-country move from New York to Phoenix. Our binding Bill of Lading contractually guaranteed delivery between July 6th and July 15th. It is now nearly four weeks after pickup and well past the contracted window, and we received only a partial delivery. The remainder, including irreplaceable artwork, our family's heirloom dining table, and multiple televisions, has been sitting in Liberty's own Commack warehouse this entire time with no confirmed delivery date. When we asked why the contracted window was missed, we were told the binding dates were merely "standard transit guidelines." When we asked about compensation for the delay, we were told our shipment didn't qualify for their delay claim program, a claim they could not substantiate with any actual tariff provision when asked directly. Most recently, our written requests for a firm delivery date have gone unanswered entirely. This is not what a binding delivery window on a signed, paid contract is supposed to mean. If you're evaluating Liberty Moving & Storage or United Van Lines for an interstate move, ask hard questions about what happens if your shipment doesn't fit on the first truck, because in our experience, the answer is silence and your belongings sitting in their warehouse indefinitely.

Do NOT hire these movers…read more They damaged my $4,500 exercise bike on a 0.5 mile NYC move. I had paid for $15,000 in extended valuation coverage and declared the bike on their high-value list. They offered me $150. I have video of the bike in perfect condition the morning of the move and video of the damage at delivery. Their own lead mover photographed the damage himself. Then their claims department told me the manufacturer said the damage was cosmetic and didn't affect functionality. I have the manufacturer's email saying the opposite: the unit's flywheel is damaged, unit cannot be serviced and requires full replacement. They made that up to deny my claim. I appealed. Senior management said no new facts were presented, after I submitted the manufacturer's email, and raised the offer to $200. Going through Small claims court, NY Attorney General, and FMCSA filings now. Overall incredibly disappointing experience. Do not hire them.
