Here is what they did well: - great bread, truly amazing as house made - gelato was fantastic - pretty inside/decor - sides were pretty good Here is where it went south: - our serve was very casual and almost seemed put off by us. Not attentive, not overly welcoming or friendly - my girlfriend stated it was my birthday, an our waitress saw me with a birthday gift and no acknowledgement no asking oh is it your birthday? Meanwhile 2 other tables received a happy birthday, with a candle and dessert - when going to a "steakhouse" is that you go there expect to have an amazing steak. Not the case, my "medium" steak was cooked half medium half rare. For a filet it was also very fatty. when I asked the server (probably 25 minutes after our food was served) she said it didn't look medium and offers to put it back on. no apology Overall it felt very underwhelming and when you pay $70 for a steak you expect it to be right. On top of that celebrating a special occasion, for a $200 meal for 2 people, it Was a bland experience. We've heard amazing reviews so hopefully your experience will be different than ours! We said we'd give it another shot but not going with steak.

It didn't really work out that way. The food was disappointing overall and some of it had a genuinely strange taste. One of us ordered boneless chicken wings, which were smothered in what was the worst bbq sauce we've ever tasted. We also ordered biscuits and gravy. The gravy had sausage in it but the flavor was unpleasant and just didn't taste right. Honestly though the service was probably the biggest issue. It was nearly nonexistent and when we did interact with a couple of servers/host they came across as pretentious and dismissive. At one point one of them mocked us to coworkers apparently not realizing we could hear them. Unfortunately for them we absolutely could. What made it even more noticeable was that we watched other tables with different servers being checked on and attended to throughout their meals while we were essentially left alone. We didn't complain or make a scene we just wanted to finish and leave. Even after everyone at our table had finished, we sat waiting another 15-20 minutes just to get our ticket. By that point, we were more than ready to go. Our server's interactions felt especially strange. When we did manage to get his attention, he spoke extremely slowly and calmly in a way that felt almost deliberately dismissive, then disappeared again for long stretches. We were never checked on otherwise. Overall, between the food, the lack of service and the way we were treated, this was a really unpleasant experience. I wouldn't choose to dine here again. Two stars only bc there was one person that genuinely enjoyed their meal in our party.

In short, they do not grow their own grapes. They have them shipped in but they do the rest of the wine making process on site. They have won awards around the world for their wine so they are still legit. My husband and I love our wine. I have been wanting to try Henke for some time. We decided to have a light lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. My husband has been before with coworkers so he was familiar with this location. We were greeted at the door by the owner, Joe. He seated us and gave us a menu and some time to decide what we wanted. I decided I wanted a true winery experience, so we only did finger foods and wine. We didn't order actual entrees. Henke is serving some delicious wines and yummy food pairings. My husband's go-to is Pinot Noir and I always order a sweet wine. I had the Cellar Blush. This is considered a Sweet Blush Wine. It was delicious, and my husband enjoyed it Pinot. We paired our wines with small plates to share. We had the Stuffed Mushrooms with Sausage, Cheese & Charcuterie Plate, and their famous Air-Fried Cheese. This was the perfect afternoon lunch/snack. We laughed, toasted, and enjoyed our delicious bites. Their Air-Fried Cheese tasted like the perfect homemade cheese stick. It is a sharp Vermont White Cheddar in a crunchy herb jacket. These dishes were delicious! The crust was seasoned and fried perfectly! It also came with some berry compote to sweeten things up a bite. The Cheese & Charcuterie Board was a good mix of cheese and meat. It had some different cheeses, meat, jams, and berries. It was served with crackers. The stuffed mushrooms were my least favorite. My husband loves mushrooms and will always order stuffed mushrooms if a menu has them. In my opinion, the mushrooms were a little over cooked. They were more watery from being baked down. They had a little chew/stiffness as mushrooms do but you could tell they had been baked more than what they needed. Other than this everything was good including the wine! Overall, Henke is a cute Urban Winery with good wine and snack food. We did not have any entrees so I can't speak to any meals they have.

The owner and creator of Henke wines was the one who guided through the tastings. As beginners of wine he was very knowledgeable and kind as he taught us about the differences of the wines. The air fried herb crusted cheese was a great appetizer to warm up with. The main course consisted of chicken linguine carbonara and french onion soup both of which did not disappoint. Definitely recommend Henke if you're looking for a local wine tasting spot. P.S don't try and take the wine glasses home

From the moment I sat down at the bar, owner Matt and the bartenders made me feel genuinely welcome. They took the time to learn my name, offer recommendations, and check in throughout the evening without ever being overbearing. It's a rare gift to make a solo guest feel seen while still giving them space to enjoy their own company. The food was outstanding. I ordered the baked brie with the honeycomb (trust me, get the honeycomb) and every bite was delicious. The combination of warm brie, puff pastry, honey, and nuts was incredible. Matt's wine recommendation was equally spot on. What impressed me most, though, was the atmosphere. Ripple strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated and comfortable. Whether you're on a date, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet evening alone, you'll feel right at home. I arrived as a first-time guest and left feeling like a regular. Covington is lucky to have this place. I'll definitely be back.
