This cafe is wonderful in so many ways! First of all, they offer gluten-free bread, plus fresh gluten-free pastries that are kept in a separate container from the regular pastries. I went around 2 p.m., though, and they were almost completely sold out of the gluten-free pastries, so if you want to snag one, definitely go early! They have tons of sandwich options, and a great selection of teas and coffee drinks. I got an iced chai latte with almond milk, and it was light and good. There's also plenty of seating inside, along with some local art, which makes it a nice place to hang out. The only downside is that you'll need to find street parking which is a little difficult at this location, so prepare mentally. I come to Muse almost every week and usually order a smoothie. I recommend the peach/mango with apple juice (instead of OJ) and yogurt! Try the seasonal lattes too- hot or iced ( I prefer iced ) - can't wait for snow mint to come back but butterscotch brown sugar is good. Today I also tried a breakfast sandwich - egg n criss - get it with tomato and spinach warm, skip the meat. Have it all warm, cut it in half when you get it and take that first bite. Muse Cafe is a great place to meet a friend or attend a poetry reading! Favorite items include the Chicken Salad and the Strawberry Fields Salad. Do not go expecting a quick service cafe experience like Dunkin' or Starbucks, because this place is more about taking a breath and enjoying a moment of peace in this busy life. After working in a lot of quick-service coffee shops in my past, that was hard for me to grasp at first. Once I understood what type of place this was meant to be, I could fully embrace it and I highly recommend it as a peaceful refuge! Customer service is very good. I do just want to say the prices for some of the pastries are a little crazy. I paid $4.50 for a raspberry croissant that wasn't even worth it. I would rather eat a crumbl cookie for $4.49 instead of this, at least the crumbl cookie would satisfy my needs of a sweet treat. read more

Muse is a lovely neighborhood cafe. They offer a great selection of coffee drinks, alcoholic options, and food on their menu. I ordered the Strawberry Fields Salad. Although it had just spinach instead of other greens as advertised, it was delicious. The most important part of my experience at Muse was the live music. Having live musicians perform regularly several nights a week is rare these days; it is quite special that Muse makes an effort to do so. The musicians they bring in are phenomenal, and it really makes for a nice evening out. I will definitely be going back soon! read more

Muse,Muse,Muse! Why has it taken me so long to try the food. I've been here for coffee and enjoyed it. I live so close, around the corner. Today I placed an online order. When I arrived my sandwich was literally coming off the press. I have been trying a no meat diet for a little while so I had the mushroom, onion and gruyere cheese on sourdough bread. Now I am not a sourdough bread fan. I thought about asking for different bread but my instincts said stick with it. My goodness this panini was amazing. The mild, smooth melted cheese with the mushroom and onion seasoned & sauteed to perfection. They can consider me a regular from now on. We live on the West Side but why does that always come with a negative connotation? Before Muse, getting coffee was a masochistic experience: either resorting to a diabetogenic $1 McCafé or burnt Starbucks coffee from one of the beautiful Glenway strip malls. We finally have a locally-owned community coffee shop in the heart of Westwood! Muse is great where it matters: they have 100 Mbps reliable internet, tons of meeting space and a friendly staff... great ambiance, gluten free options (can substitute gluten free bread on their sandwiches and they have a range of baked goods). There is free parking in the Westwood Business District lot, which is on Montana across from La Rue. The signage is poor - (before reading online I drove by it for year without noticing anything had opened) it is in the apartment building with blue awnings on the corner. Price Hill, Covedale, Westwood, Cheviot....support your local businesses. This is why we CAN have nice things... read more

I want to support this business. I really do. Cafes are an important part of every united community and I wish Westwood had more. Unfortunately, this coffee shop is not a cafe that supports a "community feel." The customer service is absolutely horrible. The workers never greet you when you come in, they don't seem to know their menu, and give an all-around air of hostility towards customers. Customers seem to be viewed as people that waste the workers' time rather than viewed as people to be helped. An example of this is when I walked in 12 minutes after their 1pm closing time. I was stared at by whom I assume to be the manager and was simply told, "We're closed. I thought you were a DoorDasher." I said "okay" and walked out. My question: if they're accepting DoorDash orders, why not take in-person orders, especially if in-person means tips for the workers of Muse? One positive at least is that they serve Deeper Roots coffee. read more

I was delighted to find this place. It was oddly hard to spot coming at it in the dark and rain and the directions said it was on the other side of the street- it is RIGHT ON THE CORNER. I just found on-street parking to go in. It was a weeknight and not very crowded. Service was friendly, the space is attractive and open. Didn't try the food or coffee- this time- but I was pleased at the selection of local beers and the wines on offer. Prices for those were reasonable. It pains me to give such a bad review but the customer service is absolutely horrible. Completely agree with the other reviewer about the employees acting like they are doing you a favor. I could get over the unfriendly attitude but not waiting 35-45 minutes for a panini (this has happened 3 times! ... thought it was a fluke) when the cafe is empty. The one time the employees that were there just completely forgot/somehow didn't realize we'd ordered a panini ...??? Again, the place was empty... Anyway, VERY disappointed in Muse. We live right down the street and so wish we could enjoy this place. Everyone else seems to have such great experiences ... maybe we will give it once last shot on a night with live music? read more

Been here a handful of times. Couple times good, very cute insides; few times had attitudinal service, like they didn't want our group in there. Bc of the later, and the rudeness of who I think is the owner, we will not go back. Also, in regards to food, french toast was amazing the 1st time I had it and completely different meal the next time ordered. Just inconsistent in both service and food. Finally! A place on the Westside I can go to get a good cup of coffee (don't worry - I didn't forget about you, Bloc). This place has been needed on the "wester" side of the Westside for awhile. I'm a homegrown Westsider, however I live on the Eastside now and am a big coffee fan. The fact that Muse carries Deeper Roots shows that they are doing something right. I have been dumbfounded that no coffee joint has opened up sooner given the need on the Westside, and the abundance of amazing joints on the Eastside. Now for the actual execution of the coffee - it could be improved. I ordered a cappuccino, and while the barista was kind and let me know she was still learning, it needed some work. But who am I to throw out a decent cup of coffee? Both workers were very nice, and I appreciated that they let me know they were still learning. I think if they can nail the execution of their espresso beverages, then this place would be a hit. Heck, they have Deeper Roots, how can they really screw it up? I think you're safe if you just want the classic americano style, or a plain cup of joe. As for pastries, they get them from Shadeau breads, located in OTR, which I really commend. If you know the story behind Shadeau breads, then you will appreciate the fact that Muse has taken the effort to receive their pastries from them. They also had some gluten free options, of which I am not sure who they get them from. On another note, they have a full menu of lunch items, (paninis/sandwiches under $8? Is that even a thing in Cincinnati anymore?), cheese & charcuterie boards, $5-9 wine pours (yes, the price 24/7! Not "happy hour prices" like people have chosen to price these days), bottles of wine for $21-24, $7 cocktails, "hard" coffees (Bailey's/Kahlua/Bourbon + coffee) free WiFi.... Did I miss anything? My only other comment is that they need to improve their signage. They said they were getting signs in this week, however when my parents told me they couldn't find it the other day, I thought it was just because they were old. Unfortunately, when I went yesterday I had the same issue myself. They are located right at the corner of Montana and Harrison (a huge traffic stop, with great potential to advertise to passer-bys). I have driven by this place at least six times since they had been open, and had no idea. If Muse can improve their coffee execution and their signage, then I think they will be a hit. They have the Westside charm to them by doing their own thing, along with the bonus of helping Westwood continue to grow. I will be back! read more

Sometimes they have vegan cookies. And they're delicious. My dairy-consuming friend agreed. Cute place, lots of seating, easy to park near. I like the turmeric ginger tea. Not a whole lot of vegan/vegetarian food options on the actual menu. I had some sandwich with nut butter and sprouts and was underwhelmed. But my friends had other food choices and seemed pleased. Myself and my friends decided to come here for a cute little café moment and we were not disappointed! The inside of the shop is very clean, so were the bathrooms. There's background music playing, but not too loud to where you couldn't study. The staff greeted us and they were nice. We dined in and they personally brought us our food and drinks which was nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the wait for our food was a little lengthy. However, the food was delicious! Our lattes (s'mores and grasshopper mocha) were also so good! They were very creamy and sweet. We got a couple sandwiches (ham and cheese, pomodoro) and they were very tasty. Each came with a pickle. We got a banana nut muffin and a cherry turnover which were delicious. The muffin was warmed. I would eat here again and I recommend for anyone looking for a nice, clean, and simple café with yummy food and cold/hot coffees. read more

When Muse opened in early Summer 2017 I was delighted and worried. Delighted Westwood finally had a coffee shop, worried it would fall to the same curse all the other business in that location have fallen foul to. Now, 7+ months later, it would seem that Muse had carved itself a name for itself and I couldn't be happier! I've never had a bad meal or drink there and the staff are extremely friendly and make coming to Muse and absolute pleasure and delight. Between the varied coffees, Panini's and booze (yes, even alcohol!), Muse is our go to location for quick visits after some Saturday shopping, or longer more relaxing Sunday morning breakfasts and surfing the web. Go during the day for their terrific brunch paired with a good coffee, go at night for a extremely tasty steak sandwich and a glass of wine or a beer. Parking at the public lot behind Huntington means it's real easy to drive there. And, whilst there, go visit some of the other businesses in the block - a pet store, knick nacks, artisanal furniture and more - all locally owned and operated by Westwoodians. read more

This is my first time in the area and at Muse. Muse is very inviting and the staff are very kind. The frappe I ordered didn't have much in the way of crushed ice, which was a little disappointing. Great atmosphere for doing work on my laptop. It was a little warm inside because of the sun heating the place up through the windows. I ordered a sandwich and chips also, which was very good. I love this coffee shop! It is my favorite spot to park myself to work on my laptop. The atmosphere is so cozy and the comfy chairs are important to me as I usually spend 2-3 hours here typing out assignments. The staff is also super friendly and they've remembered my preference for almond milk on several occasions. I crave their coffee, it's so good. Put down that Starbucks mud you're drinking and get yourself something worth your dollars at Muse. The food is also A+ and they've got a wine and beer selection to boot! read more

I had a quality fresh smoothie here, and honestly I'm so excited to see a coffee house like this in the revitalization of Westwood I would've been happy with a mediocre smoothie. Not much to add here, but one of the owners has Celiac Disease and they are amazing with avoiding cross contamination with Gluten. They even have a gluten free Chai. Worth checking out if you have dietary restrictions for gluten. read more

Went for the first time to listen to music. Grabbed a bite to eat and glass of wine however the music was late starting (was suppose to start at 8 and by 8:15 it hadn't started.
