Great ice cream place on mass Ave. So many options for flavors and toppings. They have multiple options for ice creams too. Quick service when I was there and friendly staff. The inside is pretty much a standard ice cream shop. Great place with lots of great options. In a very walkable area!

Cool experience to do every once in a while. Kids would definitely enjoy seeing the ice cream being made with the nitrogen. I like that there were different ice cream bases, flavors, and add ins to chose from. I went with a whole milk base, vanilla, with oreo and cookie dough bits. It was a little loud due to the ice cream being formed but considering it was a hot day I would take that over the heat outside. There wasn't a lot of seating but enough for my group of 5. The ice cream is a little pricey but again still worth doing it from time to time.

Super interesting process of making the ice cream right infront of you. Love the consistency of the product - it is like right between ice cream and gelato. A great blend. Not really sure why there are not more of these kind of ice cream places around. Highly recommend.

Not only is this place cool but they have really cool workers! They have the selection of flavors right before your very eyes. Then when you make the selection and pick all your favorite toppings they let the magic happen right in front of you! And if you have kids it's even more sun to see them react to the nitrogen flowing over the counter ;) We had our small dog with us and she was interested in the bowl being mixed and all the cool machines. The store has really cool/funny names to their ice creams and the workers do like to have conversations here so don't be afraid to chat it up with them. It seems a little slow here so I'm sure they get a tad bored while waiting for customers. Either way I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a yummy treat and a cool experience. They even have a lot of seating inside so enjoy your stay

This was the cutest date. Its like hibachi of ice cream lol. You literally watch them turn your milk into ice cream. It was packed when we walked in and we were helped by the next 5 minutes. The people behind the counter are great at getting you in and out. The service we experienced was super helpful with explaining everything and fast. First you chose a size cup which ranges from Kiddie to a quart. Then you chose your base. You can have ice cream, custard, yogurt and some other options. Then its the fun part FLAVORS!! They have over 30 flavors to chose from and you can combine them too. They have premade combinations on the wall if you dont want to customize your treat. Next you add your mix ins. Thats your sprinkles, peanuts, and other fun stuff. I went with a small ice cream base, flavored with Coffee/Brownie Batter. My mix ins were cookie dough and graham crumbles. DELICIOUS This ice cream shop on mass ave next to Chatterbox Jazz club. So its limited to street parking no lot. But its most likely a beautiful day outside if your coming in for ice cream and might not mind a little walk. Only slight is that it is small and several children were pushing coming between the line and the seating area behind the nitrogen tank.

I finally got to try Sub Zero last night & I loved it!! It was easy to order, the menu was very straightforward, and the service was great. They have a ton of flavors & mix-ins (there really is something for everyone)! I got chocolate with pecans and m&m's and it was delicious! To me, it almost tasted like dip and dots but better & I love dip and dots lol. Getting to watch them make the ice cream was cool. I think this would be a really good spot to bring kids. They have some tables and booths inside for seating. For parking, there is pay to park spots all along Mass Ave. I look forward to bringing my nieces and nephews here when they come to visit:-)

This place was nice to watch the nitrogen and cool air the kids enjoyed watching it. The ice cream was fine, for me the lactose free wasn't my favorite, unfortunately. But there is tons of options and flavors and toppings mixtures to try. I had lactose free vanilla and pineapple.

We love this place so much! Its a top contender for our favorite place to get ice cream in the city. Not only do they have outstanding ice cream, they also make it an experience to watch your ice cream be made in front of you with liquid nitrogen. Every time my family visits from Ohio, and most recently our Colombian relatives visit, we make sure to take them to Sub Zero. One of the reasons that I am so fond of Sub Zero is the options for lactose free ice cream as well as other options for bases. It is also unique in the fact that you can choose to simply have flavors added to the base, or choose add ins such as fruits, cookies, or candies. Or you could just eat your ice cream plain. There are some menu options that come in waffle bowls already pre-determined if you are having a difficult time selecting or want to try out their signature creations. Most recently I tried the banana cream pie bismuth and it is certainly an A+ for me. Regardless of your favorite flavor of ice cream, or if you've never been before, I highly recommend giving it a try. They even have shakes and hot chocolate creations that were recently added to the menu.

Subzero is a cool experience to watch your ice cream being made! There is always a line, as the ice cream is so good. We love the Mass Ave location, as it is only minutes from our house.

This was the best ice cream that I think I've ever had. It's got that typical ice cream parlour type vibe, friendly service, and it's really cool to watch them mix up and freeze the ice cream. You have to try the Nitro bites too, it's just a neat experience. We ordered the Bernoulli Brûlée, nitro bites, and a butterscotch/cake batter. Both ice creams were phenomenal! I will come back next time I'm in the Indy area for sure!

Mm! This restaurant never fails to lift my spirit in a day with a lack there of! I got a vanilla ice cream with two mixins: strawberry and blueberry! It was ab-suh-loot-lee de-li-shis! I recommend coming to this ice cream resort when traveling down town and looking for a place with a sweet treat! Definitely stop by.

Love this spot for ice cream while walking around downtown! The atmosphere is unique with the liquid nitrogen & their method to making the ice cream. On a nice day, the line usually extends outside, but I think it's worth it. You get to choose a flavor with different mix ins & they have other sundae options too. I ordered a regular cookie dough, which was amazing! The ice cream is super creamy and they load on the toppings. Honestly, I should have asked for light cookie dough because of how much there was. But, definitely makes it worth the price. It is a little more expensive than most ice cream shops, but the experience, quality, and amount you get is worth it!

I've never walked by here when there hasn't been a line. This place has ice cream for everyone. From dairy free, to vegan, to custard, to full on cream! So first you choose your base, then your flavor, then your mix ins, it's all added in liquid form (expect your add ins) in a bowl then hit with nitrogen and frozen into a delicious scoop of ice cream! Its pretty cool to watch them literally make your ice cream right in front of you. And it only take a couple minutes.

Quick photo of vanilla with sprinkles before my daughter devoured it!

I recommend ordering ahead for a quick in/out and to make sure what you want is in stock. I've seen the line quite long, but you can get lucky with no line on a weekday. The inside is cute but there is no seating inside. You're going to get a little messy eating your cinnamon roll and want to be in the privacy of your own home anyway. My one very minor piece of feedback is I wish some rolls were sweet rolls (i.e. skip the cinnamon). Fruity Pebble is a little overpowered by cinnamon but I'd still get it. Cookie Monster is the #1 flavor for me and I can't wait to catch Pineapple Upsidedown in stock.

The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

That could not be more true. We both did Pick Two: I got a chicken salad sandwich and my mother got a turkey and cheese both with the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. (She's 19 months - so, too young for this bougie of an establishment clearly) I would not come back at all unless it was for my, older daughter to have a birthday cake experience and get a couple cute pics. As far as instagram-worthy goes, they know what they're doing. As far as quality of food. It's like a 2.5 stars. I wish we'd waited and walked into the larger one in Carmel and just shopped and got some cookies to go!

Each one of our milkshakes themselves tasted different. The Oreo one had a very strong cookies and cream flavor while the S'mores one had an impressive smoky taste to it that I've never had before in ice cream. Really, the attention to detail here is fantastic. My s'mores milkshake came with a literal s'mores treat on top of it. It wasn't just a from-the-box s'mores treat. It was actual graham cracker and marshmallow that they took into the back to use a torch on and give that extra-smokey, warm gooey feel to it. It did take awhile to get our milkshakes. One older woman was working her butt off but clearly getting frustrated at the mounting line and the fact that things kept falling. (Good to see: if something fell on the floor, she took it into the back to, presumably, toss it into the cleaning area) At one point, she asked for someone in the back to come help her, but that young teen seemed to be doing the bare minimum. I'm not sure if it's because they're untrained or not allowed to operate some of the machinery, but while this woman is frantically trying to keep up with things, he'd do what he was told to do, relatively slowly, and then stand around and wait for a new command. It was frustrating ME to watch. I can't imagine how that feels as a co-worker. All-in-all, we had about a 15-20 minute to receive our milkshakes. Definitely worth it in the end, but it's just something to note before popping in. I'd say it was definitely worth it for the unique flavor and quality when it was all done. The place looks a little "hole in the wall" with a few tables and chairs in an older building with the single, for-customers restroom in it. If you like the older, diner-esque style building that's been around for a long time, it has that vibe. Both of our milkshakes included a to-go lid right on them that we could snap on. Unlike some "crazy milkshake" establishments, the lids could actually go on both of the milkshakes after a few sips. The toppings were large but not insurmountable.

We entered and the smell of sweet confections filled the air. I left my husband at the counter to order and grabbed a table for us in the corner nearest to the garage door. We later discussed how, during the Summer, it will be so nice if/when they open that door up to the outside air. You order at the counter, and then they bring it out to your table. My husband returned with a big glass bottle of cold water (and some of the flimsiest plastic cups that I've ever held). The water was a nice, and necessary, touch. The dishes are rich! They are rich in the best way possible, though. The event provided a complimentary crepe with your choice of fruit, and a cookie skillet with ice cream. My husband couldn't decide on which fruit(s) to get, so the employee just told him that they'd hook it up for us. The crepe came out, and it was so beautiful...it was almost too pretty to eat! They provided us with an array of fruit to accompany it; bananas, strawberries, pineapples, and kiwi. The addition of the fruit really helped to cut through the richness of the chocolate. The crepe was the perfect, delicate vehicle for all of it! I probably ate about a 1/3 of it, and tried so save room for the cookie. I'm not a real "sweets" eater, but everything here just looks so good! The cookie skillet came out warm, gooey, and with its own generous drizzling of chocolate under a scoop of ice cream (& whipped cream if my memory serves me correctly). The cookie by itself was really delicious. In the future, I will omit the addition of chocolate sauce. It really didn't need it. I look forward to another fun dessert date with my hubby at this really SWEET lounge! P.S. All of the portion sizes that I saw were shareable. Bae and I could've shared either one of those desserts and been good. I also saw a woman sharing a sweet treat with her two children, and several other patrons were sharing. We all know that sharing means caring!
