TLDR: Cool Lebanese restaurant with lots of different varieties of submarine sandwiches, as well as dishes like fatteh and foul. Tasty sub and friendly service.
I used to be in this neighbourhood lots a few years back, but am rarely there these days. So many new restaurants have since opened up in the area with Sub Town being one of them. I recently had an off-site meeting in the area and stopped by after work to pick up some dinner for my husband and I. I love variety, so I got a sub at Sub Town and another dish at another restaurant in the same plaza.
I got the Chicken Liver sub ($11.99). Now I usually don't like organ meats, but I wanted to try something different and chicken liver with pomegranate sauce sounded interesting. They cook up the liver when you order it, so it takes a while to make, but I was ok with that.
I can't say I really tasted the pomegranate sauce, but the sub was good. The default toppings that come with the chicken liver sub are garlic sauce, tomatoes and pickles. I also added lettuce and coleslaw. The liver tasted smooth, even though it was pieces of liver and not a pâté. I usually find organ meats too membrane-y or animal-y (not real words, I know, but I hope you understand what I mean). This sub was neither, and I actually enjoyed it. My husband loves liver and onions and often orders it at pubs so I figured he would like the sub and if I hated it, he could have it all. Haha. But I liked it, so he had to share it with me, lol.
Service was friendly.
They had some desserts that looked good (warbat, znoud el sit, and atayef), but they weren't behind glass or packaged. They were out on a table in the path of customer traffic so I passed (with it being respiratory infections season and me seeing so many people coughing and sneezing in the streets and all).
I got takeout but they have a few tables to eat in. The tables are in a part of the restaurant that's a bit sectioned off and separate from the ordering counter and where people would be coming and going for takeout.
Lots of free parking available in the strip mall parking lot.
