I was in the area for an appointment and decided to look on Yelp for a sandwich place. The Sub Stop was a great local place. Three friendly ladies were working. The food was freshly made and good.

Steak b N cheese with fries

Great service. Steak n cheese with fries were really good. I was in the area so I tried this place for the first time. Love it!!!

Remains of a delicious breakfast burrito (subbed with Turkey bacon) & veggie omelette with Turkey bacon side and breakfast potatoes

This place is a great affordable and delicious option if your in merrifield and need a quick bite. The food comes out quick and it is so good. The service is amazing as well! Everyone who works here is so friendly. Unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures of the food because we gobbled it up as soon as it came, but everything was great. We also always get the danishes. I don't know where they got these from but they're so good they're very moist and have lots of flavor. They don't skimp on that cheese and filling. For breakfast I always get the breakfast burrito and I sub the sausage for turkey bacon. My husband always picks one of the omelette options and also subs with turkey bacon. The omelettes come with potatoes that are cooked perfectly. They have so many snack options lots of milk, options for coffee, and several fridges full of numerous options for drinks.

This was a pleasant sandwich shop slash greasy spoon, and they made me a yummy turkey club sandwich with fries. I plan on coming back for a breakfast sandwich (probably on a day when I visit Home Depot down the block some morning).

    Chopped cheese

Not a lot of places do chopped cheese and it was on point. I haven't been there that much, but so far food is on point. Price is more than reasonable for the area. Services have been great. Nice little hidden gem around the Merrifield area.

Yum Yum and Yummier! Being from NY, it's often hard to find NY Deli style sandwiches outside of the city but BABY... this is the Korean version of the NY Chopped Cheese. The bulgogi hero goes super hard! They lightly toast the bread and dress it ever so lightly with a spicy aioli. It even tastes good when it's not piping hot. Think of it as a Korean Philly Cheese steak. Just yum! Oh, and put some obay on those fries!

Bulgogi sub. No Mayo or tomato. $8.29. Not on the menu. A fun but pricey flavor variation on the Steak and Cheese Sub.

Nothing fancy here. Not a destination at all. But no complaints either. If you want a fresh-made takeout sandwich that's a couple of dollars cheaper than the Mosaic district restaurants down the road, this spot serves that need nicely.

    Onion rings $4

The most delicious and packed Italian cold cut in the area! Compared to Jimmy Johns right around the corner, the subs here are nearly 3x the size and flavor. I've only tried the Italian cold cut sub, fries, onion rings and cheese danish here but this place has been so good that my boyfriend and I stop by almost weekly! The sub itself has 3+ layers of meat, cheese, lettuce, onions, and a delish pepper relish. I've even saved half my sub overnight and the bread did not get so soggy since it was really good quality and thick. Onion rings were the really good thick cut, crispy type but I would say the price is a bit steep. Def would recommend tho! Somehow the ladies cook the fries to perfection where it's lightly crispy on the oustide and fluffy potato-y on the inside. Would highly recommend a hot sauce and ketchup mix to dip in. The ambience of the restaurant is almost like an old-timey diner with a few booths spotted throughout. Really easy to romanticize a solo midday lunch here. Only issue for some people would be the hours of operation but as long as you stop by before 2 during the workday, you'll have a delish lunch and most likely leftovers!

the inside of a grocery store

The Sub shop is a cute lil mom and pop deli would decent customer service, good food and it's worth a try for lunch. I got the chop cheese with fries and a Italian cold cut. Both were delicious.

Their steak and cheese sandwiches are quite wonderful. Great locally owned shop. Our workplace goes there for lunch quite often.

I'm a newer vegetarian, and I've tried falafel from quite a few places at this point and if I'm being honest, I had started to get a little turned off by it. But this place completely changed that for me. Their falafel wrap? Absolutely incredible. You can truly taste the difference. They make their falafel fresh daily, and it shows. It was perfectly seasoned, savory, and MOUTH-WATERING. Not dry, not overly heavy, just pure perfection. I'm still thinking about it, and I would go back just for that wrap alone. We also tried a few appetizers, and everything hit. The fries were perfectly crisp (not soggy at all), the Brussels sprouts were packed with flavor, and the hummus was smooth and fresh, exactly what you want. The crudités were also a great touch and paired really well with everything else and whatever homemade sauce they're using? That took everything to another level. My friend ordered a salad, and even that stood out. The beets were incredibly fresh, and you could tell that quality is a priority across the entire menu. Beyond the food, the experience itself was just as good. The ambiance is beautiful, very calming and welcoming, the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy your meal. The service was also top-tier. The servers were patient, attentive, and really detail-oriented. My friend has a gluten allergy, and they took extra care to make sure everything was handled properly, which we really appreciated. What really sets Naja apart is how fresh everything tastes. Nothing felt pre-made or rushed. It all felt intentional and well-prepared. If you're vegetarian, or even just looking for a solid Mediterranean spot with fresh, flavorful food and great service, this is 10/10 worth checking out. I'll definitely be back.

The price for what they offer is a bit steep, without anything very memorable to offer. With so much competition in this space, the main draw is the location, the time it's open, the tieback to Mosaic for nearby things to do. The drinks weren't bad on sampling the bar menu; and overall a good rotation option for anyone needing something new.

The roll was reminiscent of a Philly sub roll, which - now this may be polarizing - is the standard by which I judge all sub rolls. Philadelphia just has the best subs ;) Anyway - they use good deli meats here. I don't think they make their own fries, but they were nice and crispy with a bit of seasoning on them and went well with our sandwiches. My husband had the cheesesteak and said it was just meh - definitely steak-ums - but we are from the self-proclaimed cheesesteak capital of the world :) Don't pass up the dessert case though - I am not a sweets person, but they had this triple cheese thing that was like a cheese danish, but with a million times more cheese and just a little bit of pastry, we... uhhh... devoured it... It paired really nice with their house chocolate gelato, which was the definition of rich, decadent chocolate. The lady at the register was kind enough to allow us to try a side-by-side of the house and the machine gelato... word of advice... skip the machine, go with the house gelato - the flavor (and the serving size) knocks that name-brand, machine mumbo jumbo out of the park :) Honestly, just a great sandwich joint with a little store selling specialty items, many of which are from Italy (I will be back for some squid ink pasta the next time I am cooking for friends!). Lovely little gem :)

The Chicken Little was medium sized but the flavor was more than expected and exactly as a chicken sandwich should be. Highly recommend- I can't wait to come back and try their other sandwiches as well. The owner was here as well and was super lovely to speak too.
