We went there for dinner today and were treated very rude second we walked back inside. Heard a worker calling us a b**** as we sat down. We sat down by the Curtain and the bathroom. Wife had to go up and ask for mayonnaise for my sandwich because it was made wrong to begin with and the lady said you need something! Very rude. I could have said you made this wrong and had it made the right way but decided to just ask for mayonnaise instead of doing all that. We went there to support our friend who just started working there and we will not be back and I will spread the word. read more

My family ate at the Sub Shop Deli yesterday for lunch. My husband and son both got sandwiches, and I got a salad. The restaurant was packed when we got there. There wasn't a place to sit, but that was okay, because we were taking our order to go. The wait for our food was minimal. I was shocked at how quick they were. The menu is fairly simple, which was nice. It didn't take long to decide what to get. My husband said the sandwich was filling--the bread was thick and fluffy. My salad was great, and they gave me plenty of dressing. We had been hearing how good the Sub Shop was, and we were glad to have experienced it! We'll be back! read more

Stopped in for lunch Monday for the first time in a long time. I got the 6" super combo and a drink. The sandwich had lots of meat and there is enough lettuce to make a side salad too! It came with pepperoni, salami, ham and smoked ham. The vinaigrette dressing was really good on the side salad and the sandwich. Everything fresh and made to order. Even the bread was nice and soft and helped absorb the dressing they put on the sandwich. I will be back! read more

It's ok for a sub shop. They use too much lettuce on their subs and if you want peppers on your beef sub, you will be looking for them as they are barely visible to the eye. I think they grind up their bell peppers ! Yep! I was kind of disappointed, so I compared my sub with others, and all were the same. Could not find the green bell peppers that you get on a Italian French Beef sub. The taste was there--Only. They provide the Anjou separately (and they don't dip it)! First time trying! My husband and I went for a lunch date and ordered take out. He got chicken bacon bbq kind of sandwich and I got ham cheese and all the toppings! I went here with some new coworkers for lunch and having no real idea of what is out there as I'm new to the area I was looking forward to trying some places out. The prices are reasonable and less than you would pay at a fast food chain and that was nice. The service is somewhat lacking in smiles and customer service but that was replaced with determined cut to the chase, what you see is what you get efficiency. Orders came up quick and everything was tasty. The group I was with did have an odd observation of having the sandwiches over stuffed with too many veggies, most shredded lettuce. IT was a little over stuffed and everyone pulled a lot of it out of their sandwich choices. Really kind of a waste on the part of the sub shop if the customers just toss it out and they are over filling to make it look like there is more substance to the sandwich. Hands down the best sandwiches in the Joplin area. Everything is fresh, delicious, and made to order. Their soft sub rolls are homemade every day. I always go for their hot corned beef and pastrami sauerkraut sub. Perfect. Another thing-- the pricing. Look, I don't fret over the price of food. Great food is worth a premium. But HERE, that's not an issue at all. $6.59 for a tasty 12" sub-- you seriously can't find a better deal anywhere in the area. Sub shop deli has a different texture of bread than subway bread. It is harder to bite into but is still good. If you have lettuce on your sandwich, they add tons of it. They also have very good ranch. read more

My husband and I stopped here on a road trip because of the other reviews and we had a great meal! Bread is homemade as well as the dressings. The owner was friendly and explained the menu before ordering. He told us a couple of times that they put a lot of lettuce on the sandwich, and he was right! When I went back to the counter for a fork to eat the lettuce, his wife told me they were famous for salads with their sandwiches! Lots of meat on the sandwich, too. This place has been here for 35 years, and I can see why. These people care about what they do, and it shows. We will be back!! read more

Living in this general area for my entire life, I'd always heard raves from Webb City residents about their beloved Sub Shop Deli. When I finally tried it, my reaction was mixed. It seems very "down home" and the owners (married couple) take pride in their shop, which is nice. I liked the no frills picnic table dining room. I liked the way their onions were razor thin and tasty. My sandwich was pretty good with a nice size and value. I would return and I'd even recommend it to real deli sandwich fans, but I just don't see myself rushing back here, personally. It just is not to my personal tastes...I love to try to give my business to locally owned restaurants but I'll be honest when I say that sometimes I feel like the chains (NOT Subway but places like Firehouse, Goodcents, and Jersey Mike's) just make a better sub. The biggest negative for me was that I did not like the bread. The appearance and texture were very nice but it had an odd after taste. Sub Shop doesn't have many veggie-friendly options, which was disappointing, too (even as an omnivore). The menu is a little confusing and/or overwhelming to a newbie and it took me a few minutes to figure out that they had printed paper menus in a wire basket on the counter.
