We stopped in for lunch today. The cashier was super friendly and polite, much appreciated. I know lately people have been hard to deal with but she wasn't going to let anyone steal her sunshine. (I wasn't trying btw) Our food was out in great time, I had 1/2 veggie pizza with a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup. It was delicious, just like it always is at Schlotzsky's. My husband had the roast beef and cheese sandwich with chips. He ordered the medium, I always tell him it's going to be too much and it is! So if you're really hungry go for it, otherwise the small is more than enough. Couldn't pass up the Cinnabon! It was hot and delicious! Must have if you stop by. Witnessed a employee cuss out what I can only assume to a trainee or a newbie over which direction to put mustard on a sandwich. I have been in the restaurant business for the majority of my life (Braum's, Tropical Café, Del Rio, Texas Roadhouse to name a few.) NEVER seen someone literally cursed out over something that trivial and it didn't stop there! I was shocked so I took my food politely and made sure to be extra kind to the employee. Kindness patience and respect go a long way in keeping a well functioning team and their team looked very dysfunctional. Always a good choice for a great sandwich thats a little deferent than everything else. Unique breads, creative extras like the soups and often they have Cinnabun treats baking fresh in the restaurants. A little slower than most fast food choices but thats because they actually make the food when you order it. Also the breads seem to be made on sight at most locations so it's always warm and fresh. Like anything some locations are better than others. In Joplin I prefer the one on Main St over the one on Range Line. More room and more choices, easier to get into and better parking. I'm a fan of the traditional sourdough breads but also like the dark rye. I don't typically get the normal sandwiches, there is a more expensive section on the menu with better sandwiches that have more ingredients I feel as if the normal sandwiches are a little dry otherwise. For a chain gourmet sandwich restaurant, Schlotzsky is usually a safe go to. This time was not bad either. The reuben was mediocre but the beef and bacon was delicious! Something about the rye bread on the reuben was off today. The beef and bacon was loaded with beef and a nice amount of bacon. The white sauce was a nice little kick to it and the cheddar was nice and melty. Will be back but will skip the reuben and go for the beef and bacon. read more

Food was good but service was below average. We went here to grab some dinner after a long day. The cashier wasn't helpful at all when we were asking questions because no ingredients were listed to show what was on the sandwiches. Chairs were dirty and everything was empty when we were getting drinks. They refilled after being prompted but didn't really go out of their way otherwise. I had the Cuban and it was pretty good. One of the best sandwiches you can get anywhere in this area is the Original. I always get the large, sure it is too much to eat in one sitting and no I don't want to split it! I will eat the other half later. I'm not a Cinnabon person myself but if you are, you can get Cinnabon here also. read more

Ok, I'm just going to say it.... "Bring Schlotzsky's to New York!!!" The sandwiches are superb! My boyfriend & I split a ham & cheese original style & a turkey bacon club (we both went for the medium size) & we could barely finish them! They had quite a variety of good-lookin' sandwiches so it was tough to pick. (I will definitley be trying some others next trip)! Oh, and the sweet tea was really delicious too! Just be sure to add lots of ice if you want it nice & cold. My nieces dined here a day earlier & told us how good the sandwiches were. I really didn't think much of it until we were driving by & my boyfriend spotted the place & asked if I wanted to try it. Since our main "sandwich" shop is Subway's in NY, I wasn't expecting much. Well, what a pleasant surprise! We really could use a few of these & a lot less Subway's. Ofcourse, living in NY, we do have some of the best delis around but sometimes you just kinda want a "specialty" sandwich. I feel Schlotzsky's would be a great alternative around the New York area. I find the food and service quality to be much better at the other Joplin Schlotzsky's location. I've had several issues with sloppily made sandwiches and incorrect orders at this Schlotzsky's. Since the addition of Cinnabon, their dining room space is exceedingly cramped and uncomfortable (especially if you are dining with a party of 3 people or more). It's worth your time to head to the other end of town and hit the store at 32nd and Main St, in my opinion. Better service and food. read more

i had a cinnabon roll and i can't see them being so special. i've had better cinnamon rolls. kind of doughy in the middle and chewy. not a great roll. certainly not worth the $3.50 they charge for one. maybe $1.50. maybe. read more
